Audio problem: Hibiki is quickly browsing through screenshots. Kindaichi yells 'Stop' when he spots a detail. Miyuki then asks about it, but her mouth is animated opening and closing a second before the voice first comes out.(00:07:35)
Continuity mistake: The quantity of snow on Ayatsuji's hair increases instead of thinning out when she crawls the house and is in the corridor.(00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: When they're watching the actress getting punk'd, Reika is suddenly laughing with the hand in front of her mouth when before the cut she wasn't.(00:10:55)
Continuity mistake: Kindaichi collapses coughing blood. Reika is on him trying to help, and looks behind her asking if the coffee was poisoned. The director is holding the plate with his left hand, but in close-up his hand is free.(00:04:45)
Other mistake: Throughout the whole three-parter, whenever the characters are in the snow, it comes down at really sharp (45°) angle with a whistling wind, but their hair and clothes are entirely unperturbed.
Continuity mistake: David goes downstairs and finds out about his surprise birthday party. The tape recorder and the other objects on the table change position between shots around the ugliest cake ever.(00:05:25)
Continuity mistake: In the scene with Kindaichi and Miyuki talk to the old fiancé on the rooftop of the police station, the shadow cast by the building changes significantly from the beginning of the conversation to the end.(00:05:50 - 00:07:10)
Continuity mistake: During Reiji Aoi's flashback, the young fiancé is holding the phone with Marina's coerced text message in his right hand. Next shot and the hand is the left one.(00:06:15)
Continuity mistake: The forensics team member that drains the tub and performs a quick postmortem on the victim is wearing a facemask. However, in the close-up of the moment when he bags the phone as evidence, his chin is in frame and bare.(00:03:10)
Other mistake: The police is searching the crime scene of the supposed suicide. The police was alerted because the suicide happened by drowning, leaving the bathtub running till it overflew alerting the other people in the building. The body of the victim is still completely immersed in the bathtub (nobody drained it), and Kindaichi and Aoi walk on a dry floor while there should be a massive flooding.
Continuity mistake: During the denouement, they show one of the bags being carried away from the train; the size is completely incoherent with the one shown earlier.(00:07:25)
Stupidity: The finale is sweet, but also the ultimate stupidity; there was a recording of the victim completely discharging one of the suspects from any blame, the recording was in one of the key evidences found by the police and used in the trial, but nobody ever played that recording. At least two families have to sue the State for a horrible job.
Other mistake: When Busujima tells the real story of what happened 3 years before, the bathtub in the background drained completely, but nobody removed the drain stopper, which in fact is in frame and perfectly placed.(00:10:55)
Continuity mistake: The position of Kindaichi's phone when it falls inside the bathtub changes between shots. The tub itself also fills way too quickly - and Kindaichi is in no rush to retrieve it.
Other mistake: When Kindaichi shows his phone with the incriminating evidence, the phone's charge is at 60%, exactly the same charge it had last time we saw the same phone screenshot for the same purpose in the previous episode. Mere minutes later for the bathtub demonstration Miyuki calls him and the phone is charged at 80%.(00:07:50)
Stupidity: The denouement in this episode does not make any sense. Two characters (the lawyer, the victim's sister) are suddenly present on the scene for the climax, but they were never invited and if they were at the hospital in the corridor right at that moment, Busujima could not sneak by Kenmochi's room. Later Kindaichi gingerly explains the rest at the other crime scene, which is in a different building somewhere else in the city - and they are all physically there, even the patients in their hospital gowns and slippers, it's not a dramatic rendition.
Continuity mistake: David Chiang chases the man in a purple dress at the 1985 Hong Kong Marathon. He fires a warning gunshot; if you look at the guy in the back of the pick-up that the criminal is about to hijack, he lets go off the bar twice in two different shots.(00:02:35)
Continuity mistake: When Marisa tries to save the hero by telling an old lady to move her car, the window is all the way down looking in, an inch raised looking out.(01:23:05)
