Audio problem: Someone "accidentally" drops an eraser, drawing the teacher's attention. It's a soft pencil eraser with no additional parts, but it falls with a clicking noise as if it were made of hard plastic.(00:08:30)
Continuity mistake: The "Sunlight" group is being tested on Dostoevsky's "Demons." In the aerial opening shot of the test, Kindaichi is not holding any pen (it's on the desk), but in the next shot he does.(00:08:25)
Continuity mistake: When Miyuki says that if they finish the test early, they will have a bit of time to relax, her pen is to the left of the paper. Close-up, and it's on the right side.(00:06:40)
Other mistake: During the science lesson about DNA, the teacher shows the double helix structure. One wonders how could he draw it using 3 colors since he has just white chalk at his disposal. The figure disappears a moment later when he starts giving out the test papers.(00:06:30)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the bamboo-cutter lesson, Kindaichi looks at the classroom door leaning against his right hand or not leaning at all depending on the shot.(00:21:05)
Stupidity: Akechi finds the pieces of chalk but does not investigate the open locker, where the victim left what turns out to be literally the name of the murderer. The plan of the all-knowing Puppeteer works only because the smart investigator does not perform even the most basic crime scene.
Continuity mistake: When the teacher explains the timetable of the lessons, everyone has a booklet in front of them. Kindaichi despairs as the other people are walking away; his own booklet is missing now.(00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: Miyuki's hairstyle is different in the first part of the episode (during the debriefing) and then gets back to what it was in the previous episode, with the two hair clips on the side instead of one at the back. On day 2, it switches again to one clip at the back.
Character mistake: To show how hard the top students are working at the prep school, we see one of them writing; "I was at the course of a eight-week intensive."(00:04:50)
Character mistake: When you catch Andy recovering a bottle of elixir in the upper right corner of the hall, a conversation ensues. He then says "Oh, so it's not OK if I shrae it with your Mom", with a misspelling of "share."
Character mistake: When the protagonist goes fourth base with the teacher and the nun at the same time, he says "Oh God, Mrs. Bancroft! Your squeezing extra hard" with a basic grammar mistake.
Continuity mistake: Kindaichi just discovered the murdered student. In the close-up of his hands clutching the crumpled paper, the spiked booklet and his closed fist are across two floor tiles. In the other shots, both were on the single last row of large tiles before the wall.(00:07:55)
Continuity mistake: The blonde student leads Miyuki inside the dilapidated school and says hi to the other student that is checking out a billboard. In the close-up you can see that she's standing on the left side of the billboard. In the wider angle she is standing on the right side.(00:05:35)
Continuity mistake: When King mentions the two brothers' "destiny", his big feline is at Young Diabolik's side, facing King and the others. Aerial shot, and the panther is at King's side facing Diabolik.(00:05:00)
Plot hole: The ending is funny, but it does not make sense, since as it was mentioned in the first episode, there was literally 1 ton of metal to remove, and it was in the shape of a door. Not only it would have needed 32 trips (as the nerd girl says in the first episode) from the secluded house to a large boat they somehow needed to have standing by and was undetected when the island was searched earlier, but they also needed to dismantle the door, since that's what the gold was turned into.
Continuity mistake: When Kindaichi shatters the vase, its remnants and the flowers are positioned on a different spot of the floor between shots.(00:19:20)
Stupidity: The plot throws in a drawing from a XVII century tome asserting that the building was designed with alchemic purposes by the scientist who built it. Wonderful, but the concept is not carried out coherently; the elements (as in, elements from the periodic table, which does not fit the era already, but let's say it was an original take) are placed with no relation to the basic scheme. For instance, Tin is in the "Moon" position, and its murder was executed with Fire, and some intersections have one room, some two, with no logic.
Plot hole: The death of the director is never shown, and for a reason; it would have been impossible for the killer to drop from the ceiling and kill her on the toilet stabbing her in the chest without her even noticing.(00:13:55)
Revealing mistake: In the intro of the game, look at the newspaper on the desk in the shot when you can only see the arms of the protagonist. The headline to the left of the picture is handwritten.
