Continuity mistake: Doctor Leo sits at the desk and begins writing a letter to Alec Ritchfield. "My dear Alec", it starts. Fade to the finished letter, but you can easily tell that it's not the same letter, the handwriting being different - look at the little flourish below the M, not to mention the position of the text in relation with the Fog Island stamp. Continuity mistake: During the opening conversation between Butcher and his lawyer, the shadows on Lon Chaney Jr. switch place depending on the angle - in the shots with the camera behind him, the bars cast a shadow on his neck and side of the head that is not there in the frontals. (00:01:30)

Continuity mistake: Bela Lugosi offers John Berkes a cigar ("a real Havana"), but when he's relaxing, he calls him by his 'street' name, Fingers. The man nervously brings a hand to his collar, but at the cut Fingers' fingers are gone out of frame. (00:06:30)

Bug: The main character has to deal with a rather defiant coworker at the beginning of the game, detective Lowry. Lowry in particular constantly defies the laws of physics, since he sits with his butt hovering about 6 inches above his seat.

Other mistake: Everything is lost, or so it seems when a fuel leak is discovered. Carol the stewardess sobs because it was her last flight, and she was just 3 days away from her wedding. That's nice, too bad that it was the background story of the OTHER stewardess, Janet, as established when she was boinking Bob. (00:12:00 - 01:15:00)

Continuity mistake: While listening to news about the hurricane and the disappearance, Fancy looks at Buddy working in the lawn. She spots him from the curtains as he tosses away a broken piece, but in the following close-up he picks up the bloodstained board by stepping over the bit he already tossed aside. (00:15:35)

Factual error: The movie is set in 1988, but the hurricane mentioned ("Jodie") is from 1977. (00:15:20)

Continuity mistake: Walter pushes his wife against the bedpost. They have their verbal sparring, and then he caresses her. Her hair is spread differently, more abundantly, in front of her right shoulder. (00:14:35)

Continuity mistake: Fancy opens the decanter and picks it up with her left hand, the lid in her right. She then pours for her husband with the decanter in her right and the lid in her left. (00:11:40)

Continuity mistake: Fancy does her sexy stroll singing "They Can't Take That Away from Me." She gets to the decanter and with a pop she pulls the lid in a close-up. You can see her motion rattles the leaves of the plant on the table, but in the next shot they are still, as if nothing happened. (00:11:35)

Continuity mistake: Nicolas Cage walks Buddy to the fence. He lights up a huge cigar which he holds in the left hand when he asks "Can you fix it?" and that appears in his right in the shot from the doorway. (00:09:10)

Continuity mistake: Buddy just tried to pull into a Ponzi scheme a guy at the diner's. He sits down and talks to his wife. Notice that before the first cut he switches grip on the stack of papers, but in the reverse shot he's back holding them like at the beginning. (00:06:50)

Character mistake: In one of the initial compliments to Kagera, she mentions that when a man has courage and silver tongue, it's a dangerous combination "For a womEn."

Plot hole: Contrary to any other version (including the novel), here the mastermind behind the murder realises in timely fashion that burning the letter was a mistake, it was not actually part of the plan. With this change, they'd have still all the time in the world to go back to the compartment and get the burnt remains, but they simply do not.

Continuity mistake: When the equivalent of Miss Debenham tells the Colonel that reaching the 12 people figure might be difficult, her hands and the secretarys are in a different position compared to the previous shot (hers are raised, his are crossed in a different pattern). (00:45:45)

Stupidity: The part when the Colonel and the governess pose as journalists does not make sense. It's far-fetched enough that after a lengthy interview about the culprit's fortune the topic of his family never came up, considering it was one of the main goals and an ideal question to lead with, but considering that "mr. Todo" does not want a picture taken and has a tight security, there's no way that a photographer carrying a large 1930 camera would have been allowed into the interview room to begin with.

Revealing mistake: During the opening, one of the shots showing infographics about the stolen diamond lingers long enough to allow the viewer to spot the most obvious kind of filler text - literally the "Lorem Ipsum."

Revealing mistake: The protagonist jumps from a bridge and boards the train to try to save the Professor. When he is walking on the top of the carriages, look at the treetops in the background; the train is stationary. (00:12:00)

Stupidity: To face his very human boss in the movie finale, Don pulls a gun from his coat, a gun that somehow he did not deem necessary to carry around when they were hunting dangerous brainsucking aliens, arming himself with blunt instruments instead. (01:11:25)

Revealing mistake: When the alien creature stabs the rich dude in the skull, supposedly they are in the same room, but behind the xenomorph you can see a background that can't pass for the airplane cabin, looks like a danky cave. Recycled footage from another production. (01:08:35)
