Other mistake: The show, shot in Guadeloupe, part of France, is set in the fictional island of Saint Marie, British overseas territory, with English as official language. When we see the development company sign a big cheque to the local university, it is to the order of University of Guadeloupe (also non-existent, since the university in Guadeloupe would have been in 2012 the University of the French West Indies and Guiana). Incidentally, the document that supposedly incriminating picture (taken at an amazingly public event including giant cardboard fake cheque) is from, is a form about real estate in Nevada. (00:20:50)

Continuity mistake: The protagonists break inside the the SMDA building. Richard is checking out a folder placed in front of a pile of papers. He turns towards Camille because of a sound she makes, and in this new shot his hands are in the pile, not the folder. (00:20:05)

It does not stick out literally or figuratively in any way and most importantly, it does not feature the professor's name on the spine - that is probably where the issue lies; manufacturing the prop they did not leave any clue about the professor that Richard could have picked up - the name is merely on the front and back. Both Camille and the boat owner are in a slightly different pose between takes (he distances his fist from his mouth, she has her finger in front of her lips, a closed fist in the next shot). Revealing mistake: When Ben Miller asks for the forensics report on the oyster and shot glass, the report has egregious spelling mistakes ("Specimin" instead of Specimen) and shows the victim testing positive for Oxycodone rather than strychnine! For the record, it is an entirely different lab test (a real one, with 'specimen' spelt correctly) done for a patient under prescription medications (morphine, oxycodone and benadryl) and its date is inconsistent with every other episode (it's a 03/19/2010 document and in the first season it was established the year was 2011), but these last details can be noticed only if you freeze-frame.
