Bad Boys (1995)

Revealing mistake: As the Camaro explodes on the bridge, a piece of it notably flies off. You can see it fall down a cable attached to it. (01:12:20)

Bad Boys (1995)

Revealing mistake: When the motorbike randomly explodes after Terri and Dave get out of the car, it is obvious that the explosion does not come from the bike, but from the shrub behind it, which also happened to creep up closer between shots. (00:07:30)

Revealing mistake: Throughout the movie (for instance, at its first appearance when it drives towards the camera, or when it drives off), Sonny Chiba's vehicle (or rather, its shell) is made of cardboard; the front creases, the fins wobble.

The Ritual Killer (2023)

Revealing mistake: When Detective Boyd receives the package at the end of the movie, the package is not even addressed to him, but rather to a Jim Clark, 123 Chapman Lane, 96561 Lotus, CA. Which is, as you might guess, a sample package label. One of the top results when you Google "UPS shipping label", or whatever the lazy production department people looked up, downloaded and printed without bothering to edit it. (01:23:35)

The Ritual Killer (2023)

Revealing mistake: Boyd brought Dr. Mackles to the location where he escaped the police hunt. Meanwhile, he rummaged through the rest of the place. In a closet, he found a newspaper with an article that talks about the evil South African CEO. In the first paragraph, because the rest is filler text about a completely unrelated topic (the answer about an inheritance question from the advice column of the Moneywatch website). (00:58:50)

The Menu (2022)

Revealing mistake: The very first shot of the movie, supposedly of Anya Taylor-Joy lighting a cigarette, does not match the following shot on the pier; the cigarette appears to be black and with a brand sleeve instead of the normal one she is smoking. The background confusingly looks more like an interior than the pier she is standing on, and the lighter is a common Bic-style one instead of the Zippo she is using also later in the movie. That's because it's actually stock footage. You can literally find the clip yourself on Shutterstock and similar websites, by the description "Close-up of the silhouette of a woman's face sticking a cigarette into her lips, igniting her with a lighter, and exhaling smoke. The grim concept of the harm of smoking in a low key." (00:01:00)

Maggie Moore(s) (2023)

Revealing mistake: During the negotiation for the second murder, Happy Anderson writes a "You HOPE she suffered" note, but shreds what looks like a "You HOPED she suffered" note - they are two different handwritten notes. (00:35:00)

Cross My Heart (1946)

Revealing mistake: Just before she KOs the lecherous producer, Peggy Harper gives him a big stomp on his right foot. Or that's what it was supposed to look like because the adorable Betty Hutton just slams her foot on the floor at a very safe distance from Howard Freeman's. (00:24:15)

Nothing Sacred (1937)

Revealing mistake: A disgraced Willy Wallace is relegated to a terrible desk in the bowels of the Morning Star. Some guy puts a ladder right above him, and various pictures start falling on him, who has already had used paper cups dumped on him by his terrible coworkers. During this sequence, the cup is glued/tacked onto Fredric March's hat in close-up, standing perfectly upright as opposed to the tilt of the other camera angle.

Fracture (2007)

Revealing mistake: Out of ideas, Willy rummages through Jennifer Crawford's belongings and finds an old copy of Dr. Seuss' "Oh, the Places You'll Go." It's a teal hardcover book with the front recognizable because of the cover picture. Later on, a sleepy Willy is surprised by the doctor as he reads the book to Jennifer. He closes it, and it has the splint on his right side, no cover picture. You don't get a good view of the other half of the book, but if he was reading it, he was then doing it while holding it upside down. (01:03:55 - 01:04:50)

Fracture (2007)

Revealing mistake: Willy is poolside at Crawford's when Detective Flores tells him the negative outcome of the umpteenth search for the gun. Gosling is waiting for the news with his hands crossed behind his neck, his big wristwatch on display, showing that the filming happened around 11am, and it is colour filtered to make it look like it happened later in the day. Fracture (2007)

Revealing mistake: In one of the most memorable moments of the movie, Hopkins' character trolls Gosling's, gesturing him to fix his bowtie (and will get his comeuppance at the end). When Gosling does that, the arms of his wristwatch show it's around 1 PM, while the court proceeding is supposedly taking place at 3 PM. (00:25:20)

Fracture (2007)

Revealing mistake: As Jennifer Crawford drives past the gate of her residence (a private home, the real-life Sherman Residence, which then became the real house of Alyson Hannigan), she drives past a sign that says "Lobby Parking Lot Full." (00:07:45)

Teenage Emanuelle (1976)

Revealing mistake: After the arrest of her fake father, Annie Belle reaches Linda by phone. Naturally, she is swimming in the nude. Linda then turns to her husband, who is just then reading about Michael's arrest. The headline about this Hong Kong arrest is a glued-on slip of paper on top of an article set in Lyon. (00:21:30)

Revealing mistake: During the credits, Don Falcone is reading about the bloody feud between fellow cheesemaking mafia families Lombardi and Zanetti. The first article he browses is the April 7, 1985 edition of the Italian newspaper "Il Messaggero," with a bad glue-on job (the left column's font does not match the rest of the actual newspaper). He then reads about the car bombs in another newspaper, "Paese Sera." Here the prop design is better, but if you can read Italian, you can easily see that the article does not match its headline at all; it's not about a brutal mafia murder, but rather about the "sliding wage scale" referendum which was taking place in the country at the time the movie was shot, in 1985. Juror #2 (2024)

Revealing mistake: During every flashback of the altercation leading to the homicide, the beer bottle completely shatters from just a touch like a sugar glass movie prop. The first time we see the flashback, it is also clear that the minute pieces fall off the table in the first shot, but in the reverse angle, the bottom of a broken bottle is resting on the table.

Agatha All Along (2024)

Seekest Thou the Road - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: When Agatha's apparent nemesis makes her grand entrance, blasting the front door open, the powerless witch gets thrown against the closet door. The face of Kathryn Hahn's stunt double is fully visible before the camera cuts away to show the fall. (00:30:45)

Matlock (1986)

The Affair - S1-E4

Revealing mistake: The attempt on Rodriguez's life is quite phony looking; leaving aside the trope of a person who wants to avoid being murdered by a car by trying to outrun it instead of getting out of the way (the first semi-POV of the car does a terrible job at that, since the car looks much closer to The Victim and slower than it should be, and wide room for Rodriguez to escape sideways), the impact does not happen and the stuntman jumps into a pile of garbage without anything remotely close to connecting. (00:32:00)

Revealing mistake: In the second half of his fight with the TVA weaponizing Logan's spoils, Deadpool at one point accidentally stabs himself in one arm using Wolverine's claws. The claws are stuck and hard to pull out, and we are just a few seconds away from a prolonged visual gag based on that concept. However, in this circumstance, the claws come out effortlessly at an impossible angle as he spins away and they do not leave a mark on the suit.
