Continuity mistake: When Toni Servillo meets Verónica Echegui in the sauna, she says something in Spanish to him, and then shrugs in a close-up. The jacket and towel cover her shoulders and neck area entirely, but in the wider shot that follows, the towel is gone and the jacket is looser. (00:11:10)

Continuity mistake: Bill Kirby enters the bar. He asks Bob the waiter about his wife. There's a cut during this brief exchange, and the girl sitting at the table in the background changes position suddenly (she was browsing a magazine, now she is holding it still and fully open). (00:02:35)

Revealing mistake: The bartender (Kateryna Korchynska) offers Ethan two lattes on the house. She hands them to him, and he walks out. No opacity from the liquid can be seen inside the plastic cups, and when he is moving away from the counter he leans forward quite a bit, showing the inside of the cups, squeaky clean. (00:08:00)

Continuity mistake: The lawyer and his two collaborators arrive in Mandrake Falls and reach Longfellow Deeds' home. The housekeeper opens the door to let them in...and never bothers to close it (and it does not close by itself). Few seconds later, Deeds' arrival is announced by the dog who impatiently paws at the closed door. (00:04:50)

Continuity mistake: With awkward timing that brings the table conversation to a screeching halt, Thomas says that "New York lost its soul." The woman next to him was having a glass of wine, but it is down on the table in the next shot. George also has his glass raised (we see it in foreground when Thomas explains himself) but it's on the table in the wider angle. (00:11:20)

Revealing mistake: At the cocktail party in his honor, Rita Richards introduces herself. Joaquin Phoenix's scotch is in a transparent plastic cup, and you notice what happens in most movies, here with particular clarity; when he brings it to his mouth, he does not take even a sip, but just pretends. Continuity mistake: Young Theo Decker is having his first dinner with the Barbours. Seeing that he's not eating much, Nicole Kidman asks him if he would like her to ask the maid Etta to make something else. On Theo's right, Andy is holding the fork with his right hand. As Theo answers "I'm not hungry", Andy's left hand suddenly is on the table too. (00:06:00)

Continuity mistake: Jake and Wendall are talking on the track field as they pull some weights. The strap attached to Wendall's glasses keeps moving in front and behind his shoulder between shots. (00:03:30)

Continuity mistake: Izzy gets out of the car of her one night stand and lights up a cigarette. She begins to type on her phone, phone in the left, cig in the right. A jogger bumps her and in the next shot she coughs on purpose to try and make her put the cigarette out. From now on, Izzy's phone is in her right hand and her cigarette in her left hand. (00:08:05)

Revealing mistake: When the historic "Mahna Mahna" sequence in the sauna ends, the girls come out of the building running through falling snow in all their youthful bounciness. The "snow" comes from the left, at a rather extreme angle; if it were real snow there would be an awful icy wind blowing, but the girls' hair is mostly unperturbed, and in the shots that follow there's no snow at all. It's obvious that this snow is just coming from a fan kept off frame. (00:51:15)

Continuity mistake: After the announcement from her boss that she is scheduled to 'marry' her quasi-fake BF, Ana goes to the gym to meet her friend. When they are talking, she says "it's been forever, it's already kind of worn out." Ana's ponytail is in front of her shoulder, and goes back behind her back in the next shot. (00:10:00)

Continuity mistake: When we see Christmas Flint with her dad and Miss Rayleen for the first time, she's watching them bicker, her chin perched on the back of her hand. Which hand, though? It's her left hand for the greater part of the scene, but in the shot when Jim Gaffigan is saying "I got to find my pants. You move my pants?" it's the right one. (00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: When the Tartar princess Bortai is first shown, and throughout the first part of the scene when John Wayne and Pedro Armendáriz ride to check her out, she lies in a litter shrouded in shadows or perfectly lit, depending on the shot. (00:03:40)

Continuity mistake: During the Memorial Day toast, Katie's hand is on and off the glass between shots. The level of wine in the glass also changes inconsistently. (00:12:20)

Continuity mistake: Priscila carries Helen's bag while she gets her seat. She gives her the bag using her left, while she keeps her own in her right hand. Cut, and Pauline Collins is turning around passing her bag from the left hand to the right. (00:07:40)

Factual error: The Waynes went to a theater with 5 movies, with the main spot being Blow Out and Zorro the Gay Blade, who came out on July 24th and 17th of the year. You can also see marquees for other July movies; Wolfen, on the 24th, Arthur, on the 17th. But the narration that opens the movie said it was Thursday October 15, and the events of the movie span across at the very least two weeks (the Joker gets booked on Murray's for "next Thursday" when at least a week has passed since the intro). So the theater is showing in November movies that are over 3 months old (7 for 'Excalibur'. Last movie to be featured) and no new releases. (01:49:10)

Continuity mistake: Leaning against the car during the riots, Joker's face paint is smeared with a tear exactly the way it was when he walked out of the subway before the Murray Franklin show. But of course it went through a lot of fixing since. (01:46:45)
