The Apartment (1960)

Deliberate mistake: In the bar scene with the woman blowing straw sleeves at him, Jack Lemmon and the extra next to him have their glasses full before the music ends, but empty when she walks up to him placing the rum glass on the counter. The barman brings instant off-screen refills to all of them without being reasonably enough time for him to pour. (00:52:30)

The Apartment (1960)

The Apartment mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the second round of drinks, the amount of ice left in the frozen daiquiri changes depending on the camera angle. It's poofy and opaque in the side view, and deflated and almost fully transparent in the tighter close-up on Shirley MacLaine, with an intermediate angle and state. (00:38:10)

The Apartment (1960)

Deliberate mistake: Jack Lemmon looks at his watch as he puts his thermometer in his mouth, and when he takes it out. Obviously in 25 seconds a 1960 mercury thermometer would not give a reading of his 101 fever, it's deliberately done for the scene to move on (although it could have been done differently, with a cut or having him retrieve the thermometer later, since the scene is static and lasts much longer, enough for a real thermometer to work). The Apartment (1960)

Continuity mistake: In the first elevator scene, when Shirley MacLaine calls the floor number (19), between her, Jack Lemmon and the wall there are a man with a fedora reading the New York Times, and a woman with a turban. When the elevator doors open and people come out of the cabin, the woman is nowhere to be seen. (00:17:05)

The Apartment (1960)

Factual error: Jack Lemmon at the beginning of the movie lights up the pilot flame of his stove, puts a frozen dinner tray straight from the cardboard box in the refrigerator, and it's all nice and ready for him to eat (the aluminum foil is so hot it burns his fingertips, even!) in the minute and a half it took him to put the bottles out of the door and talk to his creepy doc neighbour (no cuts are shown to imply passage of time). The Apartment (1960)

Continuity mistake: CC opens the door to Mr. Kirkeby who is back for the galoshes; you can see Jack Lemmon casting a pronounced shadow over the light switch by the door in the close-ups, but in the wider shots of the room Kirkeby is searching and then exits, that shadow is not showing, just one on the door itself. The Apartment (1960)

Character mistake: The protagonist at the beginning of the movie is cleaning his own apartment when Kirkeby returns for the missing galoshes of his lady companion. Kirkeby searches a chair, looking also down on the floor to the side of it, turns around and looks up the other one and then back towards the starting point. He picks the galoshes a few seconds later finding them in a spot where he supposedly has looked already almost all the time (the actor just pretended to look). (00:06:40)

Continuity mistake: In the first movie, it was explicitly stated that Reacher was sort of a ghost who was born in an army base somewhere and spent his entire career abroad; he entered United States "for only the second time in his life" (the first being West Point), to disappear living a life off the grid. In this movie, it turns out he had a cozy office (with the same desk as Major Turner's), and was stationed in DC.

Camping In - S1-E4

Revealing mistake: Mrs. Slocombe enters her tent after telling Captain Peacock about the top window. Peacock then obviously uses that moment to stand on his tiptoes and peek in. You can see to the right of the tent the metal cart pushed by Larry Martyn discreetly peek out of the stage entrance and stop as he waits his cue to come on the set, to a rumbling noise. (00:13:35)

The Knock Out Cop (1973)

Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the coked-up sailor is shooting from a rooftop and screaming various racial slurs. Despite that, there's a big crowd building. When he shouts "Come and get me, honkies!" you can see people running way before he pulls out of the gun again and shoots. Not only that; some of the extras are just enjoying themselves and not keeping a straight face, far from being scared. (00:01:00)

Eastern Promises (2007)

Continuity mistake: Salma Hayek gets rid of her broken shoe with a single basketball throw into the garbage bin - including the part of the shoe that was still on the counter. (00:06:35)

Continuity mistake: Salma Hayek comes out of a Rolls; keep an eye at the area between doors, right next to the rope. During the brief cut on Brosnan putting down his helmet, a woman with a greenish-black dress is leaning against the wall as if she's been there the whole time. (00:06:05)

Continuity mistake: In bedroom the Thursday morning they are about to meet her sister, Jessica Alba leans in to kiss Pierce Brosnan. He begins quoting Hamlet, Alba's hair is cascading in front of the left shoulder with very little down her back. Close-up on Brosnan and a thicker mass of her hair is present, less sparse than it was before. (00:05:05)

Other mistake: In the flashback to Richard's childhood, when he looks from the door at his dad randomly shagging a party guest, the door appears open wider in the POV than it is in the other shots, where the opening barely fits his head. Besides, with the head in that position, he wouldn't see the door handle as shown. (00:02:00)

Continuity mistake: During the initial briefing, the digital clock initially points the time pretty accurately, but then gets stuck on minute 56 for way too long; it's at 12:56:35 when they whip out of the drug lord's folder, 20 seconds of dialogue elapse till the clock is shown again at 12:56:47, another 25 before it gets to 12:56:55, and about 40 seconds before it gets to...12:56:56. And barely 30 seconds pass before Estrada arrives, at exactly 1 o' clock. (00:12:30 - 00:14:30)

Marshall (2017)

Revealing mistake: Back at his NAACP homebase, Marshall meets with the boss who is already sending him to deal with another case. In the close-up of the newspaper he's reading, check out between the actor's fingers. You can tell that half of the article, which begins in English, suddenly switches into Latin 'lorem ipsum' filler text. (00:06:20)

Asthma (2014)

Asthma mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the scene of the first meeting between Gus and Ruby, Krysten Ritter's hair moves back and forth (behind or in front of her left shoulder) between shots multiple times (most obvious example: when he offers her a drink). (00:12:45 - 00:14:35)
