Continuity mistake: At the Pentagon, when Maggie is sitting with her team of 'experts' and one suggests Iran, in the shot facing Maggie's back her file folder is closed and lying on the table in front of her, but in the next shot, she closes the open folder. Between these two shots, the analyst to her right goes from holding his headset by his ear, to holding a pen on the book in front of him. (00:27:50)

Continuity mistake: During Sam's family genealogy report, when he holds up Captain Witwicky's glasses to show the class, there are cracks in certain areas of both lenses. Those cracks actually change position and characteristics when we see the glasses elsewhere in the film, such as on eBay and when Prime explains their importance to Sam and Mikaela when they first meet. Visible crew/equipment: When Sam rushes to his waiting father after class and tells him about the A- they drive off. In the next close-up shot the filming vehicle, with its top mounted crane and camera at its front end, are reflected on the car's surface as they drive past, before pulling into the Porsche lot. As this shot continues, when they drive onto the Porsche lot, the filming vehicle directly behind them (note its headlights), is reflected on the large windows in front of them and when Sam is told he isn't really getting a Porsche the filming vehicle, which is now beside them, is reflected on the window to their left. Continuity mistake: After class when Sam rushes to his father, who is waiting in his car, and tells him that he got an A-, the license plate is affixed to the front bumper. At the start of the next shot, the front license plate is gone, but it then reappears when they arrive at Bobby B's. (00:11:35)

Continuity mistake: After buying the sunglasses and baseball cap, Bobby sneaks into the church alongside the nuns. Then we see four cars pull up beside the van and agents exit, but on the monitor that Grasso is watching only three cars full of agents have pulled up to the van before those agents exit.

Revealing mistake: Once the secret door to Moria is open, when Gimli says, "Soon Master Elf, you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the Dwarves," as Gandalf leads the way inside, note the glint of the trailing power cord as it moves along the ground behind Gandalf and goes directly under his robe. This is the staff's electrical supply cable. (00:16:20)

Visible crew/equipment: After starting their four day journey through the long dark of Moria, a few shots later Gandalf pulls on his hat brim, and just as he walks (with Legolas close behind) to his left (towards the viewer's right), up some stairs, the black electrical cable leading from the staff to under the robe's left sleeve is visible. Continuity mistake: When Marguerite threatens to toss 'Utopia' into the fireplace, she holds the book out to her left, where the fireplace and its roaring fire are located. When Danielle hands over the glass slippers, Marguerite moves her arm from her side and proceeds to forcefully throw the book down directly in front of her (between Marguerite and Danielle, who face each other). Odd though, how in the next close-up 'Utopia' is shown having been tossed straight into the fire to burn, as Danielle screams. (01:13:35)

Audio problem: When Danielle brings the salt to the dining table, the Baroness sprinkles a spoonful of salt over the single shelled hard-boiled egg in the bowl, with its removed cracked shell lying on the plate beneath. After the stepmother rebukes Danielle, we hear the distinct sound of her cracking the hard-boiled egg's shell with her spoon, just before she says, "Eggs are cold," even though the egg has no shell.
