Continuity mistake: When Ben walks into his office, just before he says, "What's up kitty cat?" in this shot in the background the woman with a black sleeveless top is leaning over a desk speaking with someone. In the next shot as Ben asks, "Where were you man?" that woman is standing by the coffee machine at the wall at the right. Yet, in the next shot, she's back where she was in the first shot. Continuity mistake: At his office, when Ben starts removing his tee shirt, three women, holding their coffee mugs, are huddled together glaring at him in two shots. After he flicks the ad with his fingers, two of those women are walking around at the other end of the office, doing their work. Yet when Ben says, "No way!" he turns and sees the three women, still huddled together holding their coffee mugs, glaring at his body. (00:06:10)

Visible crew/equipment: In Flourish and Blotts, after being spotted, the photographer pushes Harry behind the desk and Lockhart pulls Harry closer. At the start of this shot, the books lying on the floor, on the left, are visible under the desk. There are two strips of white tape, perpendicular to each other, on the floor protruding from under the books. However, in the overhead shot when Lockhart says, "..is currently celebrating its 27th week...," their mark is GONE. The tape is visible again when Lockhart says, "..with my entire collected works...," due to the same camera angle as the first. (Visible in DVD fullscreen) (00:18:35)

We'd hoped you'd only gone one grate..," she holds her purse a particular way and Ginny faces Harry, yet, in the next shot as she continues to say, "..too far," she holds her purse differently and Ginny now faces the other way. Continuity mistake: At the Weasleys, there is a close-up of Harry's face as he watches the fry pan being washed. In this shot as Harry walks away, twin 1 removes his jacket, while twin 2, wearing his jacket, closes the window atop the short door. In the next shot as Harry nears the clock, twin 1 takes his jacket off again. (00:11:00)

Continuity mistake: While standing in the Dursley's kitchen doorway, Dobby says, "Then Dobby must do it sir, for Harry Potter's own good." In the next shot as the cake/pudding floats away, the wine bottle on the counter is pointing towards the hallway. Yet when Harry stands by the kitchen watching the cake/pudding float towards Mrs. Mason, the wine caddy is turned and the bottle now points towards the kitchen wall. (00:07:15)

Continuity mistake: When Harry chases Dobby down the stairs at the Dursleys, they stop in the hallway and there is a telephone on the table beside Harry. In the next close-up, the phone and cord's position differ and when Harry rushes past Dobby, the position differs again. (00:06:50)

Continuity mistake: At Harry's bedroom window, the curved dirt line on the windshield is visible when Ron says, "Let's go," in the close-up, as the Ford Anglia begins to turn. In the next two shots as they pull away, the dirt line is different. When Ron yells, "Come on Harry, hurry up," and Harry passes Hedwig to Ron the dirt line is the same as the first shot. This goes back and forth in the remaining shots at the Dursleys. (00:09:15)

Revealing mistake: At the Quidditch match, in the close-up when the Bludger knocks off Harry's arm guard, his right arm below the elbow is very conspicuously digitally augmented. When Harry falls toward the sand and unlocks his legs from around the broom, his legs below the knees, especially his right leg, are digitally augmented as well. Continuity mistake: As everyone watches Aunt Marge start to soar up into the air while in the yard, the position of the white lace tablecloth, which hangs off the table at this point and the things upon it, differ in the exterior shot looking in towards the dining room and the following interior shot of the table. Continuity mistake: At the Quidditch match, in the overhead close-up of Harry when he lands, the area of sand around him is visible. When Harry lifts up the Snitch and smiles, and in the next overhead shot as he begins to roll out of the way of the Bludger, the sand is still visible around his head. The tracks in the sand are different in each of these shots, but it's not been touched yet. (00:57:25)

Continuity mistake: In Transfiguration class, when Professor McGonagall says, "Yes, Miss Granger," the Ring-tailed Lemurs are playing at the bottom of their cage, but when McGonagall says, "You all know that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand..." the Lemurs are high on their perch, all nestled together. Then as McGonagall says, "Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously..." they're playing down below again. Yet, when McGonagall says, "...be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods," they're back up on the perch, nestled together again. (00:48:50)

Continuity mistake: Charles enters Col. Potter's quarters while Potter is sleeping. Potter sits up in bed while Charles whines and complains about his sister's engagement. In all the shots facing Potter, the hair at the top of his head is very messy and pointing up. In every shot facing Charles, Potter's hair is normal.

Revealing mistake: At the Quidditch match, the goal posts are visible at both ends of the pitch in many shots, including the shortest ones. When rushing to Harry, Hermione shouts, "Finite Incantatem!" In the shot of Ron and Hermione's backs as they run towards Harry, the short goal post's base is visible on the left. It is completely different in this close-up than in any of the wide shots. (00:54:40 - 00:57:45)

Continuity mistake: As Harry chases the Snitch after his arm is broken, he reaches and catches it in the shot facing him. In the next side shot, as he begins to roll over while still balancing on top his broom, the attached foot rest is visible between his thighs. However, when he rolls under his broom then skids to the ground, it is clear that the foot rest is gone. Whether the foot rest is in the open or closed position, it would still be visible either above or below his leg. (00:57:20)

Continuity mistake: As Ron and Harry watch in the background, Crabbe and Goyle hold cupcakes that change position, then start eating Hermione's cupcakes. When the close-up faces Crabbe, the little bit of cupcake in Goyle's hand is visible. However, when Goyle rolls his eyes up as he begins to fall backwards, the cupcake in his hand is nearly whole.
