Continuity mistake: When Frank returns home from the Lynskeys, he parks his Volvo right beside the outdoor fuse box post, with the box facing beyond the trunk of the car. However, after Frank goes upstairs, in the next exterior aerial shot the Volvo is 10-15 ft. away from the fuse box post and the box now faces beyond the front of the car. (00:17:30 - 00:19:20)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Continuity mistake: Aragorn stabs Lurtz in his thigh and in the first shot the long handle is sticking way out in front. Next shot, the knife's long handle is NOT seen anywhere above Lurtz's knee - his hand would not be able to cover the very long handle and in the same shot, Aragorn's already put his hand down. Yet in the next shot, Lurtz punches Aragorn in the face and Aragorn's hand is still at Lurtz's leg. Next, Aragorn rolls over and in the side wide shot of Lurtz going closer to Aragorn, we should be able to see, but DON'T see, the long knife handle in front or blade in back, protruding from anywhere in his right thigh. Only after he lifts Aragorn, headbutts him and punches him down, we see the knife handle and blade protruding from Lurtz's leg. (01:25:10)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Continuity mistake: When Gandalf sits near Frodo in Rivendell, he explains, "I was delayed." As he thinks back, in the first wide shot as Gandalf lies on the floor at the top of Orthanc, the bowl sits at the left side of the spire wall. Saruman forces Gandalf over the opposite edge and then onto his stomach towards the center of the floor. As Gandalf lies on his stomach and says, "And he does not share power!" in the next shot however, Gandalf is actually sitting up against the spire wall and the bowl is to his right. (01:25:00)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Continuity mistake: As Arwen tries to escape from the Ringwraiths, after she crosses the Ford of Bruinen, Arwen's long hair is behind both of her shoulders in every one of her close-ups. However, Arwen's hair is in front of her shoulders, in the four close-ups of Frodo. (01:22:10)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Visible crew/equipment: When Saruman points both staffs at Gandalf, he says, "I gave you the chance of aiding me willingly, but you have elected the way of pain!" as Gandalf spins round on the floor, with his left leg raised in the air. As he spins, there is a bulge at his side and the apparatus with the wire, around his left ankle, is perfectly visible. (00:50:55)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Continuity mistake: As Gandalf and Saruman battle each other at Orthanc, both Saruman's and Gandalf's staffs either change position drastically or actually change hands, in consecutive shots. For example after Gandalf 'strikes' Saruman the first time, Saruman slams Gandalf to the floor, Gandalf's staff is in his right hand, yet, in the next overhead shot it's beside him, under his left hand. The Polar Express (2004)
Trivia: The Polar Express is the very first feature film to be shot entirely in the new format of Performance Capture. The technique used in this film surpasses Motion Capture, in that Performance Capture has the ability to offer true human emotions and natural facial expressions with clear and precise detail. As many as 150 reflective jewels were adhered onto the actors' faces, including eyelids, brows, upper and lower lips, chin line and cheeks, which took nearly two hours to achieve. With this technique, Tom Hanks is able to portray five key characters in this film, which was in production for over two and a half years.
Revealing mistake: After a close-up of the drawing of one-armed Lord Nelson, Killick opens the lid of the steaming food for Jack in a close-up, just before Killick says, "Oh, here we go again. Scrape, scrape, screech, screech." Later, after Pullings takes command of Acheron, Jack tunes up his violin and Killick says, "Here we go again," in another close-up of the steaming food for Jack. Every detail of the food shown in both close-ups is exactly the same - obviously shot at the same time. (00:26:25 - 02:05:20)
Continuity mistake: The position of the needle and thread lying on Peter's body differ in the wide shot and following close-up. (01:59:10)
Continuity mistake: In the close-up of the deceased, Mr. Allen lies right beside Peter and Blakeney's knees are visible above Peter's head, while he mourns over Peter. However, in the wide shot as Blakeney still stares at Peter, Peter and Mr. Allen are now much farther apart as Davies sits between the two. Peter and the hammock's position differ in his next close-up as well. (01:59:30)
Continuity mistake: The blood stains on the front of Jack's shirt change drastically in the close-up, when he is stabbed, as compared to the previous and following shots. (01:57:15)
Continuity mistake: After fighting aboard Acheron, when Jack sorts through some rubble with his sword and as he is stabbed, the items on the ground differ in consecutive shots. (01:57:10)
Continuity mistake: As Stephen holds the diary, in the shot facing him he begins to flip the page with his right hand, yet, in the next close-up of the diary he flips the page with his left hand. The actual pages he flips and the way he holds the diary differs in this and following shots as well. (01:34:25)
