Continuity mistake: The camera pans the bouncing ball that Bags chases and on the left are two candles and something blue near the globe. In the next shot the blue item is gone and the candle is closer to the edge on the suitcase. (00:11:40)

Continuity mistake: When Tom tosses the ball, Bags runs after it and in the first shot he runs past the rug. Then in the next shot the camera pans the rug in front, from the POV of Bags, who hasn't reached the rug yet and in the next shot, Bags is still on the middle of the rug. (00:11:40)

Continuity mistake: During the scene with Bags growling, pulling on Tom's pants and chasing the ball, the rug on the floor changes position in different shots, note the frill edges. (00:11:40)

Continuity mistake: Tom, Sarah and Peter are in a huddle, and in the first wide shot Tom's yellow flags are not there, but in the next close-up shot, still in a huddle, the flags are at his thighs. (00:16:40)

Continuity mistake: Tom and Sarah excitedly drive up to her parents' house, already dressed up, to announce their engagement and she's wearing something with red spaghetti straps, but in the next shot announcing their engagement in the living room, her spaghetti strap dress is beige. Continuity mistake: Sarah points her finger at Tom and tells him that his nostrils always flare when he lies. In the first shot her white cuff is folded over the sweater but in the next side shot, still pointing, the cuff is down. (00:12:50)

Continuity mistake: Tom slams his fist down on the answering machine, and in the close-up he picks up the machine with his fingers gripping the top of the machine. In the wide shot he holds the machine with his fingers on one side. In the next close-up his fingers are on top again. (00:05:55)

Continuity mistake: Tom goes upstairs and puts his mail down on the desk. In the next shot when he sits, some of the things on the desk change position, for example the lamp with the silver base moves to the other side of the wicker basket. Then in the next close-up of the answering machine and phone, they change position too. (00:05:20)

Continuity mistake: When Tom enters his apt, in the shot from upstairs a bowl of chips is on the corner of a white table and syrup, peanut butter, etc. on the other corner. In the shots downstairs, a pizza box is between the chips and syrup, the corner of which should be seen in the earlier shot. The position of the continents on the globe, the mail on the TV and the things on the plastic white shelves change between these shots too. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: When Kyle is sleeping on the couch, in the wide shots from upstairs and downstairs the golf bag is behind his right shoulder. In the close-ups the golf clubs are behind his left shoulder. The sandwich, paper towel, mustard bottle, lamp behind couch also change in these shots. (00:04:35)

Continuity mistake: Tom walks into his apartment with Kyle sleeping on the couch. The green strap of Tom's duffel appears and disappears on his shoulder repeatedly in consecutive shots. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: While Gandalf is nervously waiting, Frodo is looking for the envelope with the Ring in the wood chest. In the first shot looking up from the POV of the chest, Frodo holds the envelope with the flap up near his fingers and the seal below it. However in the next shot the envelope is reversed, with the flap opposite his fingers. (00:36:40)

Continuity mistake: Frodo enters a dark Bag End and Gandalf grabs Frodo's shoulder. In the next shot Frodo spins around and Gandalf removes his hand. However in the last shot facing Gandalf, Gandalf still has his hand on Frodo's shoulder. (00:36:30)

Continuity mistake: Jack says, "That is a wonderful trick. Except, once again..." as he walks down the sloped cart. Behind him to his left are a chair, a barrel and between the two is a miniature ladder and some objects leaning on the wall. When Will cuts the rope of the overhead barrels, Jack (stuntman Tony Angelotti) stands on the cart and the ladder and other objects are not leaning on the wall between the chair and barrel. Revealing mistake: After fleeing from Boromir, Frodo is approached by Aragorn and Frodo passes a statue on a stone base and a stone pillar near stone steps. As Aragorn follows Frodo, in these shots, Aragorn's height and waist reach the same markings as Frodo when he went past these same objects. (01:17:15)

Continuity mistake: The Watcher in the Water holds Frodo upside down, and just as its head comes out of the water, but before its mouth appears, in this shot part of the back of Frodo's cloak is tucked into his belt at the back of his waist. The cloak is not tucked into the belt in the previous or following shots. (00:17:45)

Continuity mistake: After Kathy is taken away, Matthews and Gracie are together, surrounded by a crowd and police/fire vehicles. His face, and the back and front of his clothing are covered in black smudges. As soon as she asks, "So, how does it feel?" in these shots all the smudges on his face and clothing are different. The crowd and police/fire vehicles differ too. (01:41:45)

Revealing mistake: When Gracie throws the crown up towards the Liberty prop, it does not fly normally. It's very obvious that it's a CG crown leaving her hand and flying through the air. Especially enjoyable if it's seen frame by frame. (01:39:55)
