Visible crew/equipment: After Olivia and Esther talk to Verdie about Harley, while they're all busy in the kitchen with the peaches, when it cuts to Harley walking we can see set equipment at the right side of the screen. (00:21:30)

Visible crew/equipment: After Harley tells Verdie that although he's an auto mechanic things are slow, when Jim-Bob and Elizabeth rush over to John-Boy to tell him they can keep the peach tree, the shadow of the moving boom pole/mic is visible on the ground beside Jim-Bob, at the right side of the screen. The Waltons (1972)
Factual error: When Mary Ellen brings G.W. into the woods to practice dancing together, she opens up a magazine and shows him a movie still of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The problem is the photo is a still from Fred and Ginger's dance in the movie "Swing Time" (at 00:28:00 within that movie) which premiered August 1936 (and was filmed that year), but this episode takes place more than two years prior, in early 1934. Continuity mistake: When Olivia asks John to go with them to Sunday services, in the wideshots Erin is sitting on the arm chair and Jim-Bob is rocking away in the rocking chair, but in the few shots facing John or Zeb we see the rocking chair and arm chair are empty. (00:04:10)

Factual error: After Olivia realises she has polio, when John goes downstairs the radio is on and we hear an excerpt from President Roosevelt's fireside chat about upcoming Labor Day. The problem is this aired on the radio right before Labor Day in 1936, but Olivia contracts polio very early 1934. (00:22:35)

Continuity mistake: The Baldwin sisters buy Olivia a wooden wheelchair, and when Zeb brings it into the bedroom the camera tilts downward and we see Zeb's legs behind the chair. Later, after Mary Ellen and G.W. dance for Olivia it cuts to a closeup of the wheelchair, but it's actually the earlier shot because we still see Zeb's legs and he's not even in the room. Continuity mistake: When John-Boy goes to Sarah's house to pick her up for the double-feature picture show, he tells her mother good morning and we see the shadows being cast outside The House. Later, after the double feature, when John-Boy and Sarah get back to her house in the afternoon, all of the shadows are still being cast in precisely the same direction as that morning, which is impossible. Also, in Sarah's closeup after she gets out of the truck and when John-Boy rushes after her, the white fence's shadow is completely different than the previous and following wideshots. Factual error: After John-Boy and Sarah's date at the double-feature, during the ride back home when John-Boy tells Sarah that there's nothing to makeup and he's not mad, through the windshield 1970s vehicles are parked directly ahead of John's pickup truck. (00:08:25)

Continuity mistake: After Emily Baldwin makes the lemonade toast, when it cuts to the Walton house John-Boy tells everyone to close their eyes. In Olivia's closeup we can see the wheeled metal legs of the washing machine base between her and Elizabeth, but it's not until three shots later that Ike and John bring the machine in from the porch. Other mistake: After the fight, when John walks over to John-Boy, who's at the kitchen sink, and tells him to explain what it's all about, the camera pans a bit too far to the right so we can see the unfinished edge of the cabinet at the right. It's unfinished because the adjacent shorter double cabinet (with a glass door) which should be there is missing in this shot, then that cabinet is back when John-Boy turns around in a following shot. Trivia: There is a flashing red light seen at the left side of the screen while A.J. is on the porch with John-Boy and John, and then at the end when John-Boy is writing in his journal, we see the flashing light's reflection on the window. (00:12:05 - 00:48:15)
