Murder, She Wrote (1984)

Suggested correction: This is listed for the wrong episode; it belongs to "Funeral at Fifty-Mile" S1-E22. But it's also a duplicate of a mistake that's been listed since 2017, here: https://www.moviemistakes.com/entry235059.

Corrected entry: When Jan cuts Marcia's hair, Cindy is lying on her side. When she wakes up, she's lying on her back.

deadpenguin

Correction: In Jan's dream, this change does not occur between shots. While Cindy is off-screen, there is ample time for her to roll onto her back. In the first shot, we see Cindy on her right side. Then, there is a shot of Jan walking closer to Marcia. It cuts to a close-up shot of the scissors cutting Marcia's hair. It's in the next shot that we finally see Cindy on her back and lifting her head up.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: There's a scene where Arnold is talking about saving the neighbourhood, while Helga is on the roof of a building talking to herself. Arnold is in the street, and there's a man in a white tank top standing in front of him. In another shot, the man is standing behind Arnold, and Helga shoots a plunger at his head. Then in the next shot, the man is back in front of Arnold and his head doesn't have the plunger on it anymore.

Correction: No changes occur between shots. While Helga is alone on the roof professing her love for Arnold, first she has a slingshot and this bald man stands in the crowd in front of Arnold. Eight shots later, Helga has a crossbow loaded with a suction cup arrow, then lines up the scope's crosshairs on the bald man standing behind Arnold (he had plenty of time to move during the eight shots offscreen), at 00:06:05. Next shot, the suction cup arrow lands on the bald man's head, and he's still standing behind Arnold. Then three shots later, while this man was offscreen again, he has removed the suction cup arrow that was stuck on his head and rejoined the crowd gathered in front of Arnold (well, who can blame him, some nut landed a toy arrow on his head while he stood behind Arnold).

Casper (1995)

Corrected entry: When the priest comes to Whipstaff in the beginning of the film, his cross is firmly snagged on his button. Next shot, it is perfectly free from being stuck. (00:08:10)

Lynette Carrington

Correction: This does not occur in the "next shot," as you say; it's two shots later. In between those two shots, there's a shot facing Dibs and Carrigan as she asks, "Then you can handle this?" It's actually enough time for the chain to fall from the button and hang properly.

First Knight (1995)

Other mistake: When Malagant visits the Round Table, he places his sword at his old position but never retrieves it before he leaves.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Near the start of the film, when Malagant and his men kill villagers and burn the border village, Malagant wields his current distinctive sword with its long serrated edge. So when Malagant places his own old "Knights" sword (all Knights of the Round Table have identical swords) at his past position on the table, Malagant effectively renounces his former seat at King Arthur's Round Table. Prince Malagant has absolutely no intention of retrieving that sword when he exits.

The Bad Guys

Correction: Firstly, stating "at one point" doesn't make it clear where in the book this occurs, and secondly, the guard's sunglasses don't "disappear." Page 51 has 3 individual panels. The upper panel shows Piranha call, "Cock-a-doodle-doo," to attract the guard, who stands directly in front of Sunnyside's doors, while Piranha and Legs hide a significant distance away from the guard. The lower left panel is a close-up of the guard as he wears sunglasses in front of the Sunnyside doors when he hears Piranha. In the lower right panel, the guard is without sunglasses as he now stands beside Piranha, with Sunnyside's doors seen in the distance. So, between panel 2 and panel 3, a bit of time has passed, and in that time it took for the guard to walk over to Piranha's hiding spot, the guard removed his glasses. No continuity problems.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: After the car gets dropped off the bridge, the driver's side door swings open. In the next shot, it is closed. (00:48:59)

deadpenguin

Correction: It's not "in the next shot" that the door is closed; it's actually two shots later. When the white car gets dropped from the bridge, in the shot of the car landing on the ground, the door swings open and also begins to swing back the other way in the direction of being closed. Then the shot cuts away. It cuts to a close-up of the goons standing on the bridge looking down at the car. It's in the next shot, as the goons walk toward the white car, that the door is now closed. Within the time offscreen, Tsurugi could have closed the door while the goons were walking down to the car, so he can surprise attack them in this pretty amusing fight scene.

The Bad Guys

Correction: No, Rhonda does not "disappear" on page 35. Page 34 shows the band mid-performance, with Hogwild on drums. On page 35, there are 3 panels – 2 upper individual panels over a large lower panel. The 2 upper panels are connected via Ellen Fox's hand/paw whoosh, as Fox flings her guitar at Rhonda when the band is done performing. The lower panel is a wide shot, with a subject change (in the time it takes for Hogwild to stand up from the drums and walk toward Fox, Rhonda walks away), and this panel shows the 3 members of the band, Ellen Fox, Pam, and Hogwild, now all standing side by side.

The Bad Guys

Corrected entry: Dawn of the Underlord: On page 35, Ellen/Agent Fox has sunglasses, but they disappear from page 37 onwards.

EllenEncore

Correction: On pages 32, 33, and 34, Agent Fox is not wearing sunglasses while she's performing; then, when the band is done performing on page 35, Fox has put on sunglasses as she cheekily flings her guitar. Then, on page 36, Fox is not seen at all. So, when Fox appears on page 37, she has already removed her sunglasses, while she was not seen in the previous pictures on page 36. There is no continuity issue.

Boca - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: In the pilot Artie and Charmaine Bucco had two kids, Art and Melissa. But in this episode they refer to their daughter as Kiara and their son is never mentioned again.

Suggested correction: Nope. You should rewatch. Artie and Charmaine have 3 kids; Chiara is the eldest, and their two younger kids are Art and Melissa. In S1xE13 "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano," Tony, Carmela, Meadow, and AJ wind up at Nuovo Vesuvio during the thunderstorm. Then Charmaine tells Meadow and AJ, "Chiara and her brother and sister are back in the kitchen." In S4xE6 "Everybody Hurts," Charmaine tells Artie, "We'll start working on your empire right after we pay the 10,000 dollars of orthodonture Melissa's gonna need this year."

Toy Story 4 (2019)

Corrected entry: When the stroller rolls out of the antique store and crashes into the railing, in the shot where the lady runs up to it, look at the attendant inside the ticket booth in the background. She is completely frozen, with no animation on her at all. (01:17:05)

zenee

Correction: This is simply wrong. The attendant can be seen moving and reacting to what’s going on.

You are likely referring to the shot before the stroller crashes into the railing. The attendant is moving there, but after the stroller crashes and the lady runs up to it, she becomes motionless.

zenee

Correction: When the lady runs up to the crashed baby carriage, in this shot the attendant in the booth in the background (seen in this specific shot for 2 seconds) you described as "motionless" and "frozen, with no animation on her at all." This attendant does not display movement in this shot; however, her stance and facial expression convey shock at what just happened, so she's staring with her eyes wide open and mouth agape. There's really nothing "revealing" about it.

Super Grover

I suppose I put this mistake under the wrong category, but I never stated that the attendant doesn't react to what happened. You mentioned her stance and facial expression, and I agree with that. But here's the thing: the attendant is standing still, which is fine, but there is no movement to make her look... well, alive. As a result, she looks like a statue. It's an animation error. That's what I'm saying. If I'm still wrong, please explain why, because it really doesn't look right to me.

zenee

Within the 2 seconds this attendant is visible, she doesn't look like a statue; she just looks completely transfixed and shocked - appropriate for that moment. And actually, movement to make her look "alive" is unnecessary because for those 2 seconds she's seen, the fact that she's standing there transfixed, with her shocked expression, is quite human. Her animation does not appear odd or weird in any way, to me.

Super Grover

I mean, she still looks off to me, but fair enough, I suppose.

The Catwoman from Channel Six - S2-E12

Corrected entry: April is transformed into a Catwoman by a teleportation accident. Shredder puts a mind control collar on her, and she attacks the turtles. The turtles manage to remove the collar, and the fight ends. Shortly afterwards, April returns to her normal form, without any explanation.

TNT

Correction: Shredder himself provides the explanation within the episode, after he discerned April "transmutated with a cat." When the collar is put on April, Bebop asks Shredder why he's giving her such a pretty present. Shredder replies, "It's not a present, you cretin. The effects of the molecular crossover will only last a short time, but with that collar, she will obey my every command forever." So, while April is temporarily a cat, Shredder uses it to his advantage and controls her thought waves to go after the rat, Master Splinter, but alas, Shredder's control was terminated. Since the effects of the molecular crossover were merely temporary, April later returns to her normal human self.

The Waltons (1972)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: This episode takes place in 1945. We see Mary Ellen look toward the mare's front (not hind) legs/joints, which are weight bearing; and when Mary Ellen tells Elizabeth about her mare, Molly, Mary Ellen's actual words are, "Elizabeth, it's her leg. It's broken. It's bad. We're gonna have to put her out of her misery." Viewers are not shown what Molly's "bad" break is, but with Mary Ellen's words, we know the break is severe, which was a death sentence for any horse. Just to add, it all completely depends on the location of the equine injury and the severity of the break/fracture. Nowadays, with modern advancements in equine veterinary care, (thankfully!) some severe breaks may not be a death sentence for a horse.

Jackpot! (2024)

Corrected entry: When Noel and Katie are being chased by the motorcycles, he tells her to put on the helmet, which is yellow. Then, when he is in the backseat of the car fighting, he asks her to hand him the helmet, and when she does, it is now red. (00:29:21 - 00:34:06)

thetaz00

Correction: In the close-up of Katie's hand as she reaches for the helmet on the floorboard, we can see there are 2 helmets - a "yellow" helmet and a "red" helmet, on the floorboard. Katie grabs the red helmet then passes it to Noel, and he uses it for the bad biker. Rewatch the scene, please.

Glory (1989)

Correction: Matthew Broderick is not at all related to "Robert Gould Shaw," the character he portrayed in the film, Glory (1989). In 2010, Broderick appeared on an episode of NBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" and his lineage was traced. Broderick's paternal great-great-grandfather, Robert Martindale, fought in the Union Army at the Battle of Gettysburg. As an aside, Robert Gould Shaw's sister, Susanna Sarah Shaw, married Robert Bowne Minturn; then their daughter, Sarah Mary Minturn, married Henry Dwight Sedgwick. One of Susanna Sarah Shaw's descendants is her great-great-granddaughter, Kyra Sedgwick.

Suggested correction: This is not a mirrored shot. The brand name "Ajax" (all lowercase letters as "ajax") on all three of the cleansers is not backwards; neither is the Pan Dandy soap jug in the sink. And the scars on Larry Manetti's face are in their proper places.

Super Grover

Correction: Olive is not a "single" woman, she's a widow who still wears her wedding ring. In the prior episode "Epidemic" (S1xE2), when Loren Bray's sister returns to town she introduces herself to Michaela as Olive Davis (her maiden name is Bray), and is fondly referred to as Miss Olive. When Michaela goes to examine Emily, Olive Davis states that her own husband had died. Olive's ring is visible in other episodes as well.

First Wives Club (1996)

Corrected entry: When the three ladies are trying to sneak out of Morty's house Annie has glasses on. In the next shot when they are about to climb into the window cleaning contraption she doesn't have glasses on. Next shot they are back on again.

Correction: Please rewatch. Annie looks over the banister and it cuts to a shot of the street below the scaffold. Then Annie lets out a blood-curdling scream and as she throws her head back, pay attention, because the bridge/rims of her glasses have been thrown upwards to the top of her forehead, and within this same shot as she turns her body, the eyeglasses bridge/rims fall downward back onto her nose, right before Brenda grabs Annie's coat lapel. Annie's glasses never vanish.

Almost Famous (2000)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Penny overdoses, she's wearing calf-high tan boots. She falls over on the couch and dances with William while wearing them. When the doctor rushes in and forces her to vomit in the tub, however, her boots are suddenly gone.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Penny is not wearing her boots when she dances with William, she is barefoot. Please rewatch. Penny falls backward onto the couch and rolls onto the floor. William phones the front desk for the doctor, then William helps Penny stand up (01:30:05). It cuts to several shots at the graduation. Then, when it cuts back to William helping Penny dance and stay alert, Penny is quite barefoot (01:30:40). William had removed Penny's boots while offscreen, during the graduation shots.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: At the graduation, Johnny is shown graduating despite being in a different graduating class.

Correction: There is no character named "Johnny" in this movie. There are two characters named Jimmie Zara and Donny Dion, but neither are shown graduating.
