Deliberate mistake: While Faramir leads the Gondorian soldiers as they ride down the path in Minas Tirith, in the wideshot just prior to when Gandalf shouts, "Faramir!" they pass particularly distinctive buildings and a statue - this wideshot is flipped, the swords are at the soldiers' right sides. Then about ten shots later, they pass the same buildings and statue as they ride towards the front gate. (01:29:40)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Continuity mistake: As Faramir and the Gondorian soldiers start to ride down the path in Minas Tirith, there is a close-up of Faramir passing a particular building, and then over a dozen shots later, when Gandalf shouts, "Faramir!" Faramir still rides past the same building. In the next wideshot with Gandalf, they are on a different part of the path, yet in the next close-up Faramir is once again still at the same building as earlier. (01:29:00)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Revealing mistake: Though the effort is made to hide Shadowfax's saddle under Gandalf's cloak, bits of it are still visible in some shots as Gandalf rides the horse. For instance, when the wizard rides with Pippin to save Faramir from Denethor, just as they exit the tunnel in front of the Witch King, the brown saddle is seen right behind Gandalf's knee, though his robe is deliberately secured at the bottom to prevent this.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
Continuity mistake: When speaking of Merry and Pippin, a certain Orc says, "What about them? They're fresh." This Orc's face has very distinctive marbled skin coloring. After Grishnak says, "What about their legs? They don't need those..." when that other Orc says, "Just a mouthful," before UglĂșk cuts off his head, the skin coloring on his face is quite different. (These were shot at different times.)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Continuity mistake: In the first exterior shot looking through the Dursley's patio doors, as they have dinner, and later when Vernon runs after Marge, the threshold is wide, flat and all white. Below the glass on the doors the trim is narrow and at the very bottom it is wide. There is a keyhole opening (on the left door) under a particular style door handle and there is a wide double lip going round the entire edge of the left door. When Petunia runs out, the threshold is higher up and mostly brick, with a thin strip of white in the middle. The style of the patio doors under the glass is completely different, there is no keyhole, the handle style differs and there is no double lip on the door. Additionally, the large clay pots with plants, beside the doors, change from being glazed and shiney to being unglazed, its plants differ and things change position. (00:02:00 - 00:05:00)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: When Quint slowly clips his harness to the fishing reel, the reel has a brushed chrome dull finish. However, in the previous and following shots, although the reel style is the same, the reel has a highly polished mirrored chrome finish. (01:15:25)

Troy (2004)
Audio problem: When Agamemnon and the Greeks are retreating, Odysseus shouts, "Back to the ships!" in a close-up while he rides with Agamemnon on his chariot, but his mouth is not in sync with the words; nor is Agamemnon's when he shouts the same in the previous wideshot (not his close-up). Troy (2004)
Continuity mistake: After Ajax's death, when Agamemnon shouts, "Forward!" as they charge, Agamemnon's two horses have very distinctive white markings on their faces. Then when Agamemnon and Odysseus (on the same chariot) retreat, after the cheering of Trojan royalty, in the close-up as Odysseus shouts, "Back to the ships!" the white markings are entirely different, and now both horses are actually wearing blinkers on their bridles to cover their eyes. Jaws (1975)
Visible crew/equipment: When Quint hears the clicking fishing reel, he puts on the harness and slowly lifts the rod. At the start of the shot facing the reel, a crew member's hand and the top of his head are reflected in the circular chrome. (01:15:25)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: As the shark bursts through the port side windows, the remaining port side wall and window frame around it keeps changing between shots - from an entirely broken frame to a partial intact frame, and so forth. (01:57:50)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: When Brody is in the flooded cabin as it tips, at the start of the shot where the shark makes its smashing entrance, we actually hear Brody's loud footsteps on wood, as we see his waist and legs run from aft to forward in the cabin; though in the previous shots Brody is more than waist level in the water, already standing towards the bow. (01:57:55)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: While Quint slides towards the shark and subsequently munches on him, then leaves, the articles and debris on the deck noticeably change between shots, regardless of the water splashing about. (01:57:05)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: While Brody is in the flooded cabin, before the shark joins him, in the shots facing the aft cabin wall a few things are very different. The wood paneling on the entire wall, the porthole window beside the door, the ceiling and the black fire extinguisher holder all differ, and the round fixture that was screwed into the wall is gone. Also, visible through the window, the permanent ladder is positioned differently and things hanging in front of the window differ from the previous shot. (01:49:00 - 01:57:40)

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: At Orca's bow, the hole in the steel hull beside its number, is oval shape. However, after Quint is gone, when the ship begins to sink, and later when Hooper surfaces beside the wreckage of the bow, the shape of the hole in the steel hull is completely different! The white water stain lines change throughout the shots as well. (01:25:00 - 02:01:10)
22nd Jul 2005
Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: After Hooper says, "Oh boys, I think he's come back for his noon feeding," when Quint rushes to the pulpit one of the iron rail bars around the pulpit is bent, but in the following shots it is straight again. (01:39:15)
22nd Jul 2005
Jaws (1975)
Visible crew/equipment: Just after the two barrels pop up, Hooper comes down from the bridge deck and quips, "Now what?" In the next shot as the two barrels bob up and down, Orca is in the distance with Quint still up on the bridge deck, and Hooper and Brody standing on deck at the stern, but we can see there's someone else aboard who's moving around inside the cabin, beside the hanging net. (01:41:50)
22nd Jul 2005
Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: The fire extinguisher in the cabin, between the door and window, changes from an older tank to a clean newer one. Note the label and condition of red tank when Hooper sticks his tongue out at Quint and later when Quint removes it to put out the fire in the engine room. The silver clasp holding the tank reverses itself and the black holder changes its position on the wall between shots as well. (01:19:30 - 01:48:00)

Jaws (1975)
Trivia: The name Ben Gardner comes up in the film when Brody asks if Ben caught the tiger shark, and when Brody and Hooper find Ben's battered boat (which leads to Hooper seeing his severed head), though Ben is never introduced in the film. Ben does make two unidentified appearances while alive. When Hooper arrives in Amity, Ben is the first man to greet him at the dock, and at the start of the shark hunt Ben is the first man shown in a moving boat, as he complains about the other fishermen.

Jaws (1975)
Continuity mistake: When the shark bursts into Orca's cabin and tries to attack Brody, in the shots facing the shark, at the right of the screen is the forward window. The previously shattered glass (from the yellow barrel) is now perfectly intact within the window frame, and the large wood cabinet below that window is gone. The glass is shattered once again, when Brody climbs out of the cabin, through the window beside it. (01:57:55)

Jaws (1975)
Revealing mistake: When the shark bursts through the window of the cabin, in each of the shots facing Brody, including when he shoves the air tank into the shark's mouth, the glistening water is visible in the window's reflection behind Brody. The shark's reflection is never seen behind Brody, despite the shark's massive size in the small cabin. Bruce must have had the day off during Roy Scheider's takes. (01:58:00)
