The Search - S4-E15
Continuity mistake: When John borrows Vern's blue car to search for Olivia and the kids, its license plate number is "45-2678" in wide shots, but when John-Boy spots their truck at the side of the road John stops short, and the license plate number is "84-6209" in the closeup. (00:17:10 - 00:18:45)
Continuity mistake: When Zeb asks Olivia about dinner he takes a whole carrot, snaps it in half, and begins chomping as he walks toward the meeting in the living room, but when Esther takes the carrot away from Zeb it's quite a whole carrot, with only the tip gone. (00:05:00)
Continuity mistake: When Verdi is sitting on Josh's bed, talking to him about being a man, the medium shot has her face tilted to the left. But in the immediately close-up, it's suddenly to the right as she finishes her comment.
The Seashore - S6-E5
Continuity mistake: Maryellen's pregnancy changes during the episode from her natural woman figure to a slight baby bump to a 9-month belly near the end.
Continuity mistake: All of the children, even John and Olivia, seem to have reddish/auburn hair. Their natural hair colors are used in later seasons.
Continuity mistake: Elizabeth's hair length doesn't match while on The Ferris Wheel. The shot from the ground is very long hair 'draped' over the back of the seat. Yet, in the following close shot of her, it is from the chest up, so only the very bottom strands would be visible over the edge.
Continuity mistake: Or revealing mistake: Olivia's hair is suddenly long and braided in its "normal" length after her disastrous perm in the last episode 'The Rebellion'.
The Sinner - S1-E8
Continuity mistake: After Zeb and Matthew's visit to the Baldwin sisters, when the singing duo arrive at Godsey's store while everyone is watching, the man driving is wearing a different shirt than Zeb and is considerably younger. (00:35:05)
Continuity mistake: At the end the narrator states that they never see or hear from A.J. again; however, in Season 4 'The Abdication' is about A.J. coming back in connection with a movie for which he wrote the screen play.
The Secret - S4-E16
Continuity mistake: Jim-Bob's birth certificate reveals he was born January 13, 1923; however in Season 3 The Runaway Jim-Bob says his birthday was June 13, 1924. John-Boy was born just before when John was going off to WWI (1917-1918). If Jim-Bob was born at The Beginning of 1923, that would make him 5 years +/ - younger than John Boy. We know that Ben, Erin, Mary Ellen and Jason are all older than Jim-Bob.
Continuity mistake: When Ben first sees The Fox in the box trap and rushes over, both the y-branch and straight branch are lying atop the box, but as Ben kneels down now the y-branch is instantly upright with the straight branch still lying beside it, then Ben's siblings run over. (In the next shot, as Mary Ellen mentions Carol Lombarde, the box trap is suddenly set atop two saw horses with the two branches set in their trapping positions. This change is quite abrubt between the two shots and presented as if they have not moved). (00:29:40)
Continuity mistake: When the telephone rings Olivia walks over to answer it and the front door is open (we see the screen door), but when everyone rushes from the table and gathers around Olivia, the front door is now shut. (00:28:50)
Continuity mistake: After the rock is thrown, when John-Boy is looking through the broken window while holding the rock he's wearing grey pleated trousers, but it cuts to a closeup of the rock in John-Boy's hands and now he's wearing what looks like blue jeans, plus the hands holding the rock look nothing like John-Boy's hands. (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: When Erin balances a book on her head as she walks around the table, the title on The Book's spine is at Erin's right side, but it cuts to her closeup and between shots the spine is flipped over with the title at Erin's left side. (00:09:15)
Continuity mistake: When Curt, Mary Ellen, and her siblings meet Vanessa at the bus station, in the following shots the amount of ice cream on the sticks goes from less to more, particularly Mary Ellen's. (00:02:10)
Continuity mistake: When Pup and Tess are on the runway and John runs to save them, they huddle as the plane passes. After the plane passes, they stand up but you cannot see the airplane that supposedly just passed them. (01:29:35)
Continuity mistake: After John meets with all the other mills he and Ben head home, and right before the closeup of Ben sleeping there's an exterior shot of the truck, with the front license plate number T-84905, but in other shots it's T6-807. (00:22:35)
Continuity mistake: While John and Olivia are in the new car there's a rearview mirror attached to the windshield, but in their closeups the rearview mirror is gone. (01:04:45)
Continuity mistake: When Olivia goes to check on Mary Ellen to see if she needs help with John Curtis, Olivia enters the bedroom, shuts the door, then picks up the baby and walks to the bed with the door still shut behind her, but in the next shot that door is now open behind Olivia. (00:27:40)
The Illusion - S7-E8
Continuity mistake: When Verdie and Olivia are at Godsey's with their grandchildren, in Verdie's closeup as she asks Ike to move Jody's name to its proper place on the honor roll board, the grocery bag top is folded toward her, but in the wideshots the bag top is folded away from her. Additionally, while Verdie and Olivia are in the store, Harriet has a blue lollipop and John Curtis is licking a red lollipop, but when Verdie and Olivia leave the store in the exterior shot, Harriet is holding a red lollipop and John Curtis is holding a blue one. (00:45:15)
