Continuity mistake: Right before the chariot race, when Sheik Ilderim is standing at Judah's right side and tells Judah, "Be careful, don't let him near you," Judah places his hand on the Sheik's forearm as the fanfare starts. Then it cuts to a long shot, with the Sheik now suddenly on Judah's left side, and Judah removing his hand from the Sheik's forearm.

Continuity mistake: Judah Ben-Hur removes the large ring he had received from Arrius and gives it to Pontius Pilate to return to Arrius. Following this, he returns to the leper colony with Esther, and he reunites with Miriam. When Judah is told Tirzah is dying, as Judah searches the cave for Tirzah, he is once again wearing the large ring he had received from Arrius, on his right index finger. Then, that ring vanishes when he finds Tirzah.

Revealing mistake: Double Deuce is in Jasper, MO, but this was filmed in California. After Dalton tells Tilghman that Brad Wesley was not afraid, it cuts to Dalton driving. In the background, at the left there's a sign for "Magic Mountain Pkwy" and at the right the California State Route 126 sign that reads "126 West, Ventura." After the Ford dealership is destroyed, another sign in the background reads "Los Angeles, Bakersfield" (the I-5 North to Bakersfield and I-5 South to Los Angeles). (01:25:55)

Continuity mistake: Near the end, while Kabakov is atop the blimp, he finally attaches the cable hook to the blimp. Just as he wraps the canvas strap around the hook, Kabakov's white shirt is neatly tucked into his pants, whereas in the previous and following shots, his white shirt is fluttering in the wind and we can see his abdomen and back. Continuity mistake: During the chariot race, Judah's chariot has a decorative front metal rail, and in some shots there is a plump curved cushion attached to the rail, on its inner side. It repeatedly disappears and reappears throughout the scene.

Continuity mistake: While Batman and Robin are at Arbagast's home, the phone rings so Robin gives Arbagast the handset. When they realise it's Belson on the line, in a closeup Robin clicks the machine base to record the conversation. The problem is that in this closeup the handset is still in its base, even though Arbagast is still holding it talking to Belson. (00:42:45)

Continuity mistake: While Marty is at Lou's Cafe, Biff and his gang enter. When Biff starts bullying George, note George's haircut with shaved sides, back (above his neck), and sideburns. In the following shots, George's haircut with its shaved areas change length. This happens again, when George is with Marty and then tries to ask Lorraine to the dance. (00:39:00)

Continuity mistake: At the start, when Marty and Jennifer kiss, Marty turns toward his parents standing at the door. The screen door has three lower sections, and the house numbers are black. When Doc says, "Where we're going we don't need roads," it then cuts to Biff rushing out the door. Now, in this shot the changes include a screen door with four lower sections, stone wall differs, the house numbers are bright white, and a light fixture directly over the house numbers.
