Continuity mistake: During "Work This Out" in the close-up when Troy sings, "A way to have fun," his name tag disappears, then reappears.

Visible crew/equipment: During Fabulous in the beginning of the song if you look into Sharpay's sunglasses you can see a white light reflector.

Continuity mistake: At the start, when the camera pans through the doorway, as Ms. Darbus speaks on the 'stage', there is nothing between Zeke and the doorway. In the next shot, a tall wood stool appears out of nowhere right beside Zeke. Also, the height and structure of the stool he is sitting on changes.

Visible crew/equipment: Throughout the film, set equipment such as the boom mic and pole, reflector screen or monitor are visible in the reflections of characters' eyeglasses and sunglasses. Such as when one of the Sharpettes asks, "So what's the theme of the summer's talent show?" in Sharpay's next close-up the boom mic and pole are visible in the reflection of her sunglasses.

Continuity mistake: At the start, when the camera pans through the doorway of Ms. Darbus's classroom, Zeke sits on a tall stool that is about 3 feet high. Oddly enough, in the following shots, the munchkin stool he now sits on only reaches the height of about 1 foot. (Did they really think we wouldn't notice?) The wood stool also moves forward a few feet. (00:00:50)

Continuity mistake: At the karaoke bar, before Holly sings the second time, when Ciara and Daniel walk in she puts her coat down under the table, but in the next shot she's still wearing it. (00:48:45)

Visible crew/equipment: When Holly and Sharon are showing the apartment to the couple, just as Sharon says, "I think if you offer another hundred grand, they'll back right down," the reflection of a moving boom mic is visible in the center window between Holly and Ted. (00:40:30)

Continuity mistake: At the Irish Famine Memorial, when Daniel says, "I think you're a little bit perverted," regarding the corned beef sandwiches, Holly's handbag dangles from her left arm, but next shot it's on her right arm. (00:54:10)

Continuity mistake: Near the start, as Holly removes her jewelry, Gerry holds her boot mimicking her. Its zipper faces Gerry's right, with the heel beside his face, but when he slams it down the boot is in his hand the opposite way. (00:03:40)

Continuity mistake: When Holly and Sharon are showing the apartment to the couple, in the first exterior shot from the street, as we hear Holly's voiceover and see her in the center window, all of the window shades on the left are halfway down. Continuity mistake: While William is in the shower, Holly finishes the dishes and folds the towel neatly then places it on the bowl, but that towel messes and rights itself and the utensils move in the following shots. (01:15:40)

Continuity mistake: When Holly picks up the shoe with Gerry's silver suspender clasp, the picture frame is upright with the phone behind it. When she turns the shoe around to examine it, the frame is lying flat on its back, with the phone in front of it. (01:38:00)

Continuity mistake: When the dry cleaning arrives and Holly lays it out on the table, right behind her is the large flip-over wall hanging, with a picture of balloons. When she pulls the leather jacket out of the plastic, the wall hanging is flipped open to a picture of a bird. (00:53:10)

Continuity mistake: At karaoke, in the flashback, when Gerry is on stage asking, "Who wants a shot?" he's holding a drink in his right hand. Next shot, facing the audience, he's pointing to individuals with his empty right hand, but next shot the glass is back in his hand. (00:43:50)

Revealing mistake: When Holly is in bed with William, and then finds out that he is 'Billy from the band', just as she pulls away from him to bolt out of bed, the modesty top she wears is quickly seen.

Continuity mistake: Having just arrived at the house in Ireland, when Sharon is about to walk into the kitchen, in the shot facing the sink we can see the vase of flowers on the wood table, right beside the envelope. In the shot facing Sharon there is a white tablecloth under the vase. (01:01:40)

Revealing mistake: In the exterior shot of Air Force One and its accompanying jets in the air, just before the shot of David getting nauseous aboard Air Force One, something suddenly comes up along the entire bottom edge of the screen. This is only visible on fullscreen DVD. (01:08:10)

Revealing mistake: At Area 51, when the president's entourage fire their guns at the alien, the stunt wires attached to its upper body are visible, pulling the alien backwards. These stunt wires have nothing to do with Dr. Okun's medical equipment.

Continuity mistake: Aboard Air Force One, when David feels nauseous there is a telephone between his seat and his father's, whose cord gets twisted between shots, though it hasn't been touched.

Revealing mistake: The following take place in F/A-18s. After Jimmy says, "I got you covered, big daddy," there is a close-up of his gloved hand as his thumb presses the launch button. Later, when President Whitmore fires his last missile (with negative impact) there is a close-up as his thumb presses the launch button, and then a minute later there is a close-up of Russell's hand as he presses the launch button (resulting in launch failure). The last two close-ups are the very same shot as shown earlier, only the last two shots are flipped the other way. (00:57:25 - 02:04:00)
