Continuity mistake: When Harry opens the letter from Sirius Black, he throws away the string that was tied around the letter. When it cuts, the string is back in his hand.

Continuity mistake: After Draco is changed back into a boy (from a ferret), Moody sticks his staff into the ground before he chases Draco around the tree. Initially his staff is leaning at a 45° angle, but when Draco comes around the tree and leaves the courtyard the staff is standing upright, at a 90° angle. (00:14:25)

Continuity mistake: When Dumbledore reveals the Triwizard Champions, in some shots one of the Weasley twins sits beside Harry and Seamus near the wall, along with Hermione, Ron, and Neville. In other following shots, both Fred and George are sitting together on the opposite side of the table.

Continuity mistake: When Fred or George passes the note to Ron in the Great Hall, encouraging him get a date before all the good ones are gone, the position and style of writing on the note changes between shots. The number of lines changes from four to three and the words are written lower on the paper when Ron reads it.

Continuity mistake: In the Great Hall, after Hermione quips, "Well spotted!" Ron imitates his brother (when he asked Angelina to the Yule Ball) by lifting up his arms to mimic dancing, and Snape promptly smacks the back of Ron's head. In the next shot, Ron holds a pencil in his formerly empty right hand. (01:11:15)

Continuity mistake: In the maze, when Cedric says, "For a moment there I thought you were gonna let it get me," the tear on his shirt, at his right shoulder, is directly on the seam and quite frayed. At the cemetery, when Harry says, "Cedric, we have to get back to the cup. Now!" the tear is not on the seam, and it's smooth with blackened edges. Back in the maze, when Amos approaches his son's body, the tear differs yet again. The dirt on Cedric's shirt changes as well. (01:58:20 - 01:59:40)

Continuity mistake: At the Welcoming Feast, in the close-ups of Seamus and Harry sitting at the table, there is a substantial space between them. When Dumbledore says, "Good evening, children," and later, when he says thank you to Umbridge, the boys are sitting right next each other. (00:29:15)

Continuity mistake: In her office, when Umbridge adds sugar to her tea, she places the spoon on the saucer. When Harry walks in and she says, "You're going to be doing some lines today," there is a close-up of the tea cup and the spoon is gone. After a brief close-up of Harry, the spoon reappears. Visible crew/equipment: When Hermione and Harry go back in time, they duck and hide from Malfoy (after being punched) and his friends as they leave. The bulging rectangular outline of the transmitter (for hidden cordless mic) is visible at her lower back, under her pink hoodie. It is visible in a few shots, including when they are at the pumpkin patch. The outline of Harry's transmitter is visible at his back, as he bows to Buckbeak at the pumpkin patch, when they rescue him. (01:45:10)

Continuity mistake: On the Hogwarts Express, when Harry writes "Sirius Black" on the envelope it is written in thick black ink. However, in the next shot when the envelope is in Hedwig's beak, the name is written in thin ink, and the writing differs. (00:14:35)

Revealing mistake: In the Forbidden Forest, HRH are introduced to Grawp. Just as the giant lifts Hermione off the ground, in the shot from behind her, Hermione's legs disappear below her calves; the digital lines are actually visible. Slow-mo is not necessary. Continuity mistake: In the Great Hall, when Dumbledore says, "Good evening children, I have two changes in staffing this year," we see Fred and George Weasley sitting in the fifth and sixth seats, and the other students near the end of the Gryffindor table. Next shot facing Dumbledore, we see the last seven students at that side of the table and not only are the Weasleys gone, but other students differ as well. This is also seen in additional shots. Continuity mistake: When Harry and Cedric are transported to the cemetery, the Triwizard cup lands on the grassy slope, well beyond the Riddle monument, with its luminescent top facing away from the cauldron area. During Priori Incantatem, three shots after Voldemort exclaims, "He's mine!" the cup lies on the corner of the Riddle monument's stone base and it faces the opposite way. The cup is back up on the grassy area in the following shots. (01:19:00 - 01:28:40)

Continuity mistake: At the cemetery, when Harry is trapped at the statue, Voldemort raises his right arm and places his finger on Harry's forehead stating, "I can touch you now." While Voldemort's arm remains raised his sleeve slides down towards his shoulder, but is back up at his elbow in the close-up. He seems to have the same problem in other shots during this scene. Continuity mistake: After the 3rd task, as Moody is taking Harry back into the school, the camera cuts back to the students. Neville stands to the left (viewer's right) of Viktor Krum and the Bulgarians. In the next shot Neville stands to the left (viewer's right) of a girl, who is seen in the next shot standing beside Ron, Hermione and other students (not the Bulgarians); Neville is out of place during these shots.

Continuity mistake: When Harry is in Umbridge's office to do lines, there is a framed photo of her beloved Cornelius and a bowl of potpourri at the corner of her desk. In the overhead shot of Harry, as he begins to write, the frame has moved towards the center of the desk. (00:36:35 - 00:37:30)

Continuity mistake: When Harry and Arthur Weasley head toward the sidewalk with the Ministry's phone booth, we see the asphalt they walk on. In the next shot of that street, there is a puddle of water precisely where they both walked puddle-free a second earlier. (00:17:20)

Continuity mistake: After Wormtail performs the Avada Kedavra curse and then raises the "bone of the father," he places Voldemort's wand inside the left side of his coat, before he slices off his right hand. When Voldemort says, "My wand Wormtail," Wormtail retrieves the wand from the right side of his coat. (01:56:00 - 01:57:40)

Continuity mistake: In the cemetery, just after Voldemort shouts, "He's mine!" when he faces off with Harry during Priori Incantatem, in this specific overhead wide shot, which is directly over Cedric's body and the Triwizard Cup in the foreground, the Cup is only a couple of feet away from Cedric's feet; whereas in a previous wide shot, when Voldemort says, "Here you stand before me as though it were only yesterday..." both the trophy and Cedric's body are seen at the top of the screen (with the Riddle monument in between), and the Triwizard Cup is quite a distance away, at least 4-5 feet, from Cedric's body.
