Continuity mistake: When Ingrid and Gregorio are tied up at Floop's castle, the amount of rope wound round Ingrid differs from shot to shot. First there are seven strands, then six, then five - which is the first shot as the laser cuts, and all are not aligned straight. Then, in the last shot, as the laser still cuts through in the extreme close-up, there are six strands again which now lie perfectly! (00:29:30)

Continuity mistake: When Trelawney asks Ron to look in Harry's cup and read the tea leaves, the Grim within the cup is visible. When Harry looks in the cup the Grim is different, for example, it has an open mouth in this shot. (00:30:20)
Revealing mistake: The Acheron fires many devastating blows on the Surprise and the effect is visible in close-ups and a wide shot. However, after Mr. Mowett yells, "Relieving-tackles on the tiller! You men collect the wounded!" there is another wide shot of the Acheron in the foreground and Surprise in the distance. In this shot Surprise has NO damage whatsoever! (00:11:00)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah shouts, "Quick, this way!" and then Sir Didymus shouts, "No, not that way!" the hanging sign with the hammer hangs crookedly by only one chain. However, two shots later when Sir Didymus shouts, "You're going the wrong way!" the sign hangs properly from two chains. Then later, when the three Samurai Goblins jump in front of Sarah and the rest, the sign's chain is broken once again. (01:20:00 - 01:25:40)

Revealing mistake: Just as Quint finishes scraping his nails on the chalkboard, the camera begins to move in closer when he takes the first bite of the cracker. On the right side of the screen under Harry's chin, Roy Scheider is ducking down while staring at the camera, as it pans toward Robert Shaw, and Roy then lifts his left hand up, cueing Robert's line. Visible crew/equipment: When Harry and Ron are under the invisibility cloak in Hagrid's hut, Hagrid, Dumbledore and Fudge are joined by Lucius Malfoy. In the wide shot as Malfoy steps in, all the mats - their marks - are visible under Malfoy, Fudge and Dumbledore. Then later Dumbledore says, "If the governors desire my removal, I will of course.." and in the shot facing Malfoy as he finishes, "..step aside," the mat that Malfoy now stands on is visible as is the blue mark behind his feet. It's also visible in an earlier shot after he announces the order of suspension. The mat at the foot of Hagrid's chair disappears as well. (Visible on fullscreen DVD.) (01:39:35 - 01:40:55)

Continuity mistake: Gandalf and Pippin walk to the prow of Minas Tirith, and while the wizard says, "Childless lords sat in aged halls, musing on heraldry..." the camera passes the two tall stones at the prow. The depth of the stones are the same at both the narrow top and wide bottom, they are irregularly shaped and the actual points are curved. The prow's short side stone walls meet the two front stones at their edges and part of the wall is broken. However, after Gandalf says, "The rule of Gondor was given over to lesser men," in the next shot facing Mordor, the stones are completely different. The two tall stones come to a perfect point, they are straight at all sides and the design of the stone differs. The wall is not broken and both sides jut out past the side edges of the two tall pointy stones. (Extended DVD.) (00:48:40)

Visible crew/equipment: At Minas Tirith, in the opening wide shot as Gandalf smokes on the balcony, the large light whose body is mounted on the ceiling behind Gandalf, is perfectly visible overhead, to his left. (Extended Edition) (00:52:10)

Continuity mistake: After Dudley shouts, "Wake up, Potter! We're going to the zoo," he pushes Harry back into the cupboard and runs into the kitchen. When he opens the door, the kitchen floor is visible and there are no floor mats. Yet, once Harry walks into the kitchen there is a taped black mat on the floor at the door and another black mat at the counter, under the stools that were visible in the previous shot, when Petunia bangs on the cupboard door. (This does not refer to the reddish mat Dudley stands on.) (00:04:35)

Continuity mistake: At Minas Tirith, after injured Faramir is carried up, Denethor walks away and sees the Orc army for the first time. In the next shot when the Troll lifts the rock onto the catapult, this catapult is totally different in the close-up and following wide shot. (02:00:35)

Revealing mistake: Tom and Sarah are in the lavatory on the airplane fooling around. She sits on the counter and puts her hand on the faucet. Before it starts to spray water, we see the hole that was drilled into the side of the spout in order to make it spray the water sideways! (00:31:30)

Visible crew/equipment: When the fishermen start out on the hunt, Ben Gardner appears in a close-up leaning on the windshield at forward deck, while talking to his boatmate about how stupid some of the others are. In the next wide shot of the boats, Ben's green boat is towards the left of the screen, and the large reflector screen and camera, that are mounted to the bow of his boat, are visible in front of the forward window where Ben was seen in the previous shot. Continuity mistake: In the close-up of the stern cleat as the shark pulls on the line, there are two large metal 'L' shape brackets screwed onto the corner of the wood of transom. Amazingly, these large brackets are not screwed into the wood in the close-up, as Brody winds the line round the cleat just a moment earlier. The metal brackets repeatedly appear and disappear. Revealing mistake: While Hooper is below in the cage, he sees the shark nearing and up on deck as the barrels speed closer, the black triangular device attached to their lines is clearly visible, right in front of the barrels. The device pulls the barrels, not the shark. (01:53:15)

Revealing mistake: When Achilles is dying and saying farewell to Briseis, when the camera is facing Achilles, you can see the netting on Briseis's wig underneath her "hair". (02:29:25)

Visible crew/equipment: Ron and Harry discuss the Basilisk's victims and, speaking of Mrs. Norris, Harry says, "There was water on the floor that night. She only saw the Basilisk's reflection." Just before Harry reads aloud from the paper again, the crew's gas torch canister with regulator and tip, that sits in a bucket beside another bucket, leans against the wall. Continuity mistake: At Quint's, when he holds the two steaming shark jaws, assorted dry goods on the shelves above the stove are seen, particularly the cans of Del Monte vegetables. When Quint gives Hooper the rope to tie the knot, some of the goods on the bottom shelf and every can of veggies on the top shelf are entirely different. (01:07:00)

Revealing mistake: After Carmen rescues Juni, as they fly over the city she says, "Hang on butterfingers." In the following close-ups, where is the handcuff with the broken chain on Juni's wrist? He is not wearing it on either wrist in any of these close-ups. It's obviously back in the following shots. (00:41:45)
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth's maids lace up her corset, obviously both the back and front laces were pulled very tight, as this is the reason for her discomfort and eventual lack of air. After Jack rescues her, as she is on his shoulder we see the two sides on the back of her corset are far apart and the laces in between extremely loose. Yet, when she is lying on the dock, Jack slices the front laces on her supposedly constricting corset so she can breathe again... (00:16:25)

Continuity mistake: When Hermione and Harry hide behind the pumpkins, Hermione says, "Come on! We're coming out the back door. Go!" As HRH run out of Hagrid's, Hermione and Harry run to hide behind the trees. In the shot facing the two, with the pumpkins and Hagrid's behind them, the blanket on the ground beside the pumpkins is visible, though it is gone thereafter. (01:52:00)
