Continuity mistake: When the cannibal women throw fruit at Jack, the first fruit skewered is the papaya, which ends up near Jack's face, in the close-up. After Jack vaults to the other cliff-top, when the papaya slides towards his face, the fruit is completely different, and the position of its hole differs. Additionally, the watermelon also differs (note stripes) between shots, as do other skewered fruit. (00:41:10)

Continuity mistake: When the cannibal women throw fruit at Jack, the large papaya hits the pole's point and the end of the fruit actually smashes. However, in the next shot it slides across the pole with a perfect circular hole. (00:41:05)

Continuity mistake: When trying to flee, Norrington falls and drops his sword and the chest. As he crawls in the first shot, note the sword's hilt and particularly the hand guard, with its wide part facing up. In the next shot the direction of the hand guard has changed, with its wide part now facing the ground (this has nothing to do with camera angle). (01:58:45)

Continuity mistake: After Jack seasons himself, in the first shot as the cannibals carry him, the rope is wound around his body and ankles, with the excess rope in between that hangs over the pole from his right to his left. When he is placed over the kindling, that rope hangs over from his left to his right. Also seen when Jack tries to blow out the flame. (This has nothing to do with camera angle.) (00:35:30)

Continuity mistake: After Will slides down the sail, just as he grabs hold of the mast line, the cut sail is only tied down at its corners. After he puts the knife in his mouth, the sail is also tied down directly under the cut. (01:36:10)

Continuity mistake: When Jack and Gibbs walk on the dock towards the Pearl, they pass a couple kissing, as Elizabeth calls out to Jack. In the following shot, that couple is much farther (about 10 ft) up the dock, away from the Pearl - note the other ship's exterior, behind them. (01:17:00)

Continuity mistake: At the edge of the cliff, in the first overhead shot, when the four men lift the coffin its "head" side is nearest the water. However, in the next shot the "foot" side is nearest, before they throw it in the water. (00:05:30)

Continuity mistake: In the close-up of Elizabeth, as she watches Jack sneak away in the long boat, there is no sign of either Marty or Cotton. In the next shot, when the Kraken causes the ship to shake, Cotton and Marty (who sits on the beam) suddenly appear. (02:06:30)

Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth walks over to the deck rail and notices Jack sneaking away in the long boat, her leather strap hangs from her left shoulder to her right hip, whereas in all other shots she wears it the opposite way. Continuity mistake: When the RV rolls into the lake, the side-view mirror is intact. Next shot, as Bob rushes to rescue the sinking RV, the entire side-view mirror is suddenly gone. Later, after they pulled the RV from the lake, that side-view mirror is intact again. (01:15:35 - 01:29:55)

Continuity mistake: When Bob is hanging onto the RV's wiper blades, as it nears the campsite, in the last close-up his shirt is completely dry, but in the first shot just as he is thrown backwards, suddenly there are numerous sweat stains on his shirt. (01:12:30)

Continuity mistake: When Bob is thrown to the ground, and the RV drives over him, in the overhead shot the tire tracks on the dirt run the entire length of his body. In the next shot, however, the tire tracks only begin beside Bob's head. (01:12:40)
