Continuity mistake: After Jaden has summoned on out the Elemental Hero Tempest card to the field, Bastion says it still can't beat the Dark Guardian. The shot then pans over to Alexis where she then replies "Bastion, just whose side are you on?" As she says this, behind her is another row of seats. The previous row of seats behind her are almost directly behind the seats Bastion and Alexis are sitting on. From an instant big close-up of Alexis thinking to herself "I hope you know what you're doing, Jaden", the row of seats behind her are now no longer pointing directly behind their seats. The half way point are now in fact pointing directly at the edge of one of the seats she and Bastion are sitting at. (00:13:15)

Continuity mistake: When Alexis suggests that she and Bastion should hope that Jaden has a strategy, the shot where Bastion replies is a reverse angle of Bastion and Alexis, and Syrus is visible very far back in the background on the field. In this shot, Syrus is several meters away from the green line on his right. In the next shot, when Syrus is shown up close, he is suddenly standing only a few feet away from the green line. Continuity mistake: After Jaden activates Fusion Gate, he raises the Elemental Hero Avian card and the Elemental Hero Bubbleman card in his hand to show it to the Paradox brothers. As he finishes raising the cards, he is shown to have the two Elemental Hero cards slightly tilted to the right. Next shot, as he says "And why don't we throw Sparkman into the mix as well?", the Elemental Hero cards in his hand are now less tilted than they were in the previous shot. (00:12:50)

Continuity mistake: After the opening credits have played, Jaden and Syrus are shown with a pair of dueling cards in their hand. In a close-up, Jaden is shown with the cards - Polymerization, then Elemental Hero Sparkman, then Elemental Hero Clayman, then Elemental Hero Burstinatrix and finally Elemental Hero Avian. In the next shot, Jaden is shuffling the five cards around in his hand. Chumley then says "How can you guys be so calm?", but when the shot cuts back to Jaden, all of the cards are still in the correct place, despite his shuffle. (00:02:05)

Continuity mistake: After Jaden has waved a hello to Chumley, the scene cuts to Zane watching Jaden and Syrus over the hand rail. At this current moment, visible in the seats in front of him are several Obelisk Blue members and two Slifer Red members. After Syrus has discovered Zane there and begins to walk over to the field, a shot shows Syrus at the front of shot and walking out of shot with Zane in the background. Only now, the students on the rows in front of him have differed completely. There are fewer Obelisk Blue members and way more Ra Yellow members. (00:04:45)

Continuity mistake: Para and Dox point out to Jaden that Dark Guardian cannot be destroyed against the Elemental Hero Tempest card, so Jaden then unveils his Skyscraper card and activates it. The buildings coming from the Skyscraper card are shown to be ascending upwards and Jaden at this current moment is shown to be looking straight upwards at the Skyscraper card. As Jaden says "Ever hear you should never play in a construction zone" in the shot following, he is suddenly looking straight forwards at the Paradox brothers. (00:13:40)

Continuity mistake: The turn after Dox summons Defense Wall shows Syrus drawing Cycroid from his deck. After he draws the card, he is shown to have two of his fingers wrapped around the back of the card. In the next shot, those two fingers are now pushed on the back of the card. (00:18:30)

Other mistake: After Jaden has summoned Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster, Syrus states to Jaden that Gate Guardian's attack points are 3750 and Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster's defense points are only 2500. When Syrus is stating this to Jaden, it cuts to a reverse angle of Jaden and Syrus where Syrus says "Blaster will get blasted", you can see on Jaden's duel disk, the Elemental Hero Clayman card shown, rather than Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster. Other mistake: Syrus summons to the field Drillroid and has it attack the Gate Guardian in defense mode, but is blocked by Defence Wall because of its effect, and Defense Wall is destroyed. Because of this, Jaden and Syrus lose 500 Life Points. While it does seem logical that their life points would go down because Drillroid has 1600 attack points and Defense Wall has 2100 defense points, they should not lose life points in the first place. This is mainly due to the fact that Drillroid's effect causes a defense position monster to be destroyed instantly, without losing life points. If Drillroid was capable of destroying Defence Wall, then their life points should have remained at 1700. (00:08:00)

Continuity mistake: When Jaden and Syrus notice Chumley has came to the arena, Chumley is in the background with his hands on the edge of the hand rail. By the next shot, Chumley suddenly has his hands placed further down. Then when the shot returns to Jaden and Syrus, his hands are suddenly back at the edge. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: After Chazz tells Chumley he is going to have a lot more room, Zane is shown staring at Jaden, Syrus and the Paradox Brothers. The next shot shows the brothers doing a monologue. As Para says "We didn't come to talk", Para stretches out his hand and Dox stretches out his hand at he same time. Dox's hand is shown to be placed directly in front of Para's hand in this shot, but by the next shot, their hands are more stretched out and are further away from each other. (00:06:15)

Continuity mistake: When Syrus looks at his Power Bond card secretly to himself as Jaden and Chumley talk, his third and fourth finger are shown to be placed along the left hand corner of the card. In the close-up shot of the Power Bond card following, the third finger is no longer placed on the card and the fourth finger is now placed along the bottom of the card. (00:02:40)

Continuity mistake: Between the shot after Chumley asks how they are being so calm and the shot where Syrus says he believes in himself to Jaden, the cards on the floor differ. On the floor is a Monster Reborn card placed on top of a Pot of Greed card, and an Elemental Hero Burstinatrix card placed on top of an Elemental Hero Avian card. Later, several traps cards have appeared. A spell card has now appeared on top of the Elemental Hero Avian card and the Elemental Hero Burstinatrix card has vanished. Also, the Pot of Greed card is now placed on top of the A Hero Emerges card, and an Elemental Hero Sparkman card that have appeared from nowhere. Elemental Hero Clayman has also appeared on the floor. (00:02:15 - 00:03:10)

Other mistake: As Syrus is thinking about the next card he'll draw, just as he says "All our hopes of becoming the best, everything we've ever dreamed about..." he has a flashback that shows him and Jaden sitting at their desk with dueling cards in their hand, cards on their desk, and Chumley sitting on his bunk in the background. On the desk is the Elemental Hero Sparkman card, but it is shaded in a dark orange color. Elemental Hero Sparkman, however, has no special effects or abilities and monsters that have no effects are always shaded in bright yellow, not dark orange. (00:07:25)

Other mistake: All monsters in the series with effects are shown to be shaded in a dark orange color and all of the monsters with no effects whatsoever are shown to be shaded in a bright yellow color. Yet Dox's Defense Wall card is shown to be shaded in a bright yellow color (which implies that it is a monster with no effect), despite the fact that Defense Wall has the ability to be the only monster an opponent can attack whilst in defense position. Continuity mistake: Jaden fuses together Elemental Hero Burstinatrix and Elemental Hero Clayman to summon on out to the field Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster. As the monster's being summoned to the field, Jaden calls out the name and says "Beat that." As he says this, he extends his arm and the finger that is shown to be pointing is pointing slightly downwards. In the next shot, as Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster appears on the field, his finger is suddenly perfectly level with the rest of his arm. (00:15:40)

From the angle in front of Jaden, he has two fingers pushed on the back of the card. Yet from a close-up of Polymerization, it is now only one finger that is placed around the back of the card. Continuity mistake: After Para has drawn Sanga of the Thunder, the shot cuts to a reverse angle panning around Jaden and Syrus where Jaden says "You've got to be kidding me. Another level 7 monster?" Near the end of this shot, Para places the Sanga of the Thunder card into the cards already in his hand. Next shot, he places the same card into the exact same cards in his hand a second time.
