In the far background, there is a sign in the background listing what is located in the aisle. Revealing mistake: The exact same shot of Mr. Leonard's car beginning to pull out of the store after closing Marketropolis is used three different times in the movie. The first time is one minute into the movie. The exact same shot is used 11 mins 55 secs into the movie after Brand X visits. The third time is 41 mins 55 secs into the movie after Dex and Dan get into the office. This shown by the car being parked in the exact same place, the car showing the exact same movements and the car hitting a trolley, all positioned in the same place, on each occasion. Continuity mistake: When Dex shows Dan the cases he is yet to solve, he reads the headlines from the articles on his cork board to Dan, saying "Raisin riddle a mystery. Leads dry as prunes." Whilst he is saying the line, he is directly facing the cork board, but in the next shot, he is suddenly standing perpendicular to the cork board. (00:13:00)

Continuity mistake: After Dex finished reading the headlines from the articles about Sunshine's disappearance to Dan, he starts speaking to Dan. When he starts talking with Dan, saying "The only case...", his arms are by his side, but as soon as the shot cuts, his right hand is suddenly near raised. (00:13:10)

Continuity mistake: When Dan's plane is descending into the tree, there are two groups of gnomes shown near the tree after Dan breaks through a window. A couple of shots later, in another angle of the plane descending, there is now only one group of gnomes standing near the tree. (00:14:30)

Other mistake: Whilst Dan's plane is crashing the second time, there is a shot from behind the plane where it shows the plane headed for a tree and also shows the plane mere meters from it. Dan spends the next twenty to thirty seconds trying to maneuver the plane and also attempting to pull the ejector seat, before finally crashing into the tree. Given the short distance between the plane and the tree in the reverse angle and also the twenty to thirty second gap of Dan attempting to maneuver the plane, as well as eject, the plane would have definitely crashed into the tree in a much quicker time than Dan had spent attempting to fix the plane. Continuity mistake: As Dan's plane is crashing into the tree, in the shot where a gnome is heard saying "Women and children second. Gnomes first, gnomes first", Dan is in the pilot seat sitting down.
