Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When the warden has finished shoving the inmate's arm into the meat grinder, there is a shot of the warden pulling the inmate away from the grinder and showing him the tray of meat made from his arm. In the shot, we can see that the inmate's face has been covered in white powder to make him appear as if his face has gone pale due to the blood loss, but it makes his face look completely unnatural, and not at all how a human face would ever appear in a situation like that. Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky mistake picture

Revealing mistake: Whilst the cell is filling with cement, Ricky runs over to the steel door and bursts through it to escape. In the shot of him bursting through the door, we can see that the interior of the door is extremely thin and is barely a millimeter deep, revealing that it is a fake prop door and not steel. Continuity mistake: When Hodaka first fires his gun whilst being threatened by the man, the shell casing lands on the ground beside him, right next to his head. A couple seconds later, when Hina goes to help him up so they can run off together, the shell casing has vanished from the ground. (00:22:06)

Revealing mistake: In the shot where Ricky punches the prison wall, a split-second before Ricky punches it, a faint outline can be seen to the right of him that gets blasted out of the wall a second later, revealing where the wall was filled in with fake debris and later plastered over. (01:29:59)

Other mistake: Whilst Ricky is fighting Wong Chun, White God attempts to sneak away by getting into one of the dumbwaiters, but the warden shoots him and he explodes. The bullet is shown hitting him in the face, but given the position of White God's body and where the warden was shooting, this would be impossible. When White God crawls into the dumbwaiter, the pantry door is shown closing behind him, so the bullet would have been blocked by the door and would have made it impossible to hit him in the face. Revealing mistake: Whilst Rumi is speaking with the producer about Mima, a man comes into the room to talk about how the new CHAM is coming along. When the man stops walking to take out a magazine and places it on the table, it can be noticed that, due to an animation error, his legs pass in front of a coffee cup on the table. (00:24:18)

Continuity mistake: On the detective show, in the scene where the forensics team member is taking photos of the dead body, there is a close-up shot of the man taking the photos and there is a Nikon logo shown on the front of the camera. It then cuts to a different angle where the Nikon logo has disappeared. (00:22:51)

Revealing mistake: When the fashion show on the television show is being shown, members of the audience are shown taking photographs on their cameras, but their hands don't move. They are never shown pressing the button on the cameras to take the photo, but the photos seem to get taken anyway. (00:22:46)

Continuity mistake: Mima is watching Rumi set up her new computer. In the reflection of the monitor, we can see a calendar on the wall behind him. The first number on the bottom row of calendar is 26 in the reflection. A minute later, when Rumi asks "what are you going to do with a clip", we can see the calendar in the background and it is now the number 27 shown to be the first number on the bottom row. The number 27 also changes colour from black to red in between the two shots. (00:19:02 - 00:20:12)

Continuity mistake: When Rumi opens up the script to see what line Mima is going to deliver on camera, nothing can be seen on the page she is shown reading. It then cuts to a close-up of the page and a small bookmark has suddenly appeared on the page. (00:15:27)

Revealing mistake: When they are filming the TV show, whenever a monitor or television on the set showing what the cameras are filming is shown, the characters shown on it are standing completely still and motionless. The animators likely only drew a still image to show on the monitors and television without drawing any character movements. (00:14:21)

Continuity mistake: When Mima gets another call whilst in the middle of a call with her mother, she says "Hello" after taking the call. In one shot, her fingers are positioned around the phone towards the middle, but in the next shot, her fingers are nearer, towards the bottom of the phone. (00:12:15)

Revealing mistake: Mima is having a conversation with her mother whilst sitting on the floor with her knees bent and shown positioned on the floor. There are frames during the conversation where we can see her knees passing over the edge of the table next to her. (00:11:32)

Revealing mistake: Whilst Mima is opening the letters, there is a shot where she is sitting on her bed in the foreground of shot, and the TV is playing in the background of shot. On the shelf below the television is a game console with two controllers on top of it. The animation for the controller on the right is very weird. The right side is drawn longer than the left side, and its positioning on top of the console makes it appear as if it is hovering above it. (00:10:47)

Continuity mistake: When Mima is putting away the posters of her and her band mates, in the shot where she puts the rolled up posters in a bag, the poster on the right is shown to have a bow wrapped around it. (00:10:42)

Revealing mistake: The animation for the news reports shown on the television are incredibly cheap and simplistic. The design of the reporters and the background behind them is far from finished and does not appear realistic in the slightest. Also, everything that is shown on the television is just a still image where none of the people in it are shown moving. (00:10:12)

Continuity mistake: When Mima is in her apartment for the first time, there is a shot of her placing three letters on a table, on top of each other. The letter on the bottom has a pink envelope, the letter in the middle has a white envelope and the letter on top has a blue envelope. In a wide shot of the room a few seconds later, the envelopes have changed order. The blue envelope is now on the bottom, the pink envelope is now in the middle and the white envelope is now on top. Revealing mistake: When the crowd are booing the hecklers, in a wide shot, most of the people are drawn without faces. This is even more noticeable when the crowd turn to Mima after she shouts at them. There is also very little detail is put into the animation of their hands, they come off as stumps attached to their arms, with no fingers. (00:06:26)
