His eye movements are pointing towards the hot air balloon below him, but his head is moving in sync where Dex is waving the cheese, suggesting that he is supposed to be looking at the cheese. Other mistake: After Dex lures the hairless hamster henchmen away from the hot air balloon with a piece of cheese, they leap off the balloon to try and reach the cheese and they plummet to the ground. When the final henchman is falling from the sky, Dex and the Fat Cat Burglar are visible in the far background, but they are paying no attention to any of the henchmen plummeting and are instead just looking at each other. Given the fact that the Fat Cat Burglar has just lost his henchmen and Dex needed to make sure they were out of the picture so he could rescue the baby kittens, there is no real reason that they would ignore the henchmen falling. Plot hole: After Dex saves the baby kittens from the Fat Cat Burglar, he makes his descent to the park where a crowd is waiting for his arrival to celebrate his 500th consecutive case solved; the 500th case being Dex saving the kittens. The problem is, Dex only saved the kittens, and therefore only solved the 500th case, mere seconds before landing in the park, so there is no way the news of this could have broke in that short span of time, and nowhere near enough time for the crowd to be ready in the park for his arrival. The crowd leaves immediately after, so it is clear they were there for Dex and could have not been there for anything else. (00:04:20)

Plot hole: When Dex is rescuing the baby kittens from the Fat Cat Burglar on the hot air balloon, whilst it is flying over the city, the four hairless hamster henchmen fly off the balloon and plummet down onto the street. Dex then saves the baby kittens and lands in the park, where two of the henchmen are shown landing in the park after plummeting. Three problems with this. 1) The henchmen fell before Dex saved the kittens and made his way down to the park, so how did they land on the ground long after Dex landed on the ground? 2) How did they land in the park if they plummeted from above a street? 3) How are there only two henchmen shown landing when four of them were shown falling all at once? Continuity mistake: When the reporter tells Dex this is his 500th case solved, there are extras in the background cheering. One of them to the right of shot is a man with ginger hair, moustache and beard. In one shot, he is wearing a light beige blazer, purple bow tie and white shirt, but in the next shot, when the reporter asks what is his secret, he is suddenly wearing a brown jacket, green bow tie and black shirt. There is a large quantity of red flowers, a building to the left of shot in the far background and a forest further back than the flowers and the building. The shot cuts to Dex saying "The real secret is that I am scared out of my mind Dan" and the entire background changes. There are now trees that have suddenly appeared behind Dex in the background, the red flowers are now way further back than in the previous shot and a building has suddenly appeared on the right hand side of the shot, while the building to the left of shot shown in the previous angle has moved to another part of the park, as shown when Dan tells him he can do it with him to help him.
