Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige practically spilled the beans days before the release, stating that if the day ever came that Marvel would use the Daredevil character in their films, Cox would be playing him. The episode of Hawkeye that premiered the day before this film's release all but confirmed this, as Vincent D'Onofrio was revealed to be reprising his role as Kingpin from the aforementioned Daredevil series.
