Superman (2025)

Trivia: James Gunn was originally offered the chance to direct a sequel to Man of Steel after he was fired by Marvel, but he opted to make The Suicide Squad instead. When Warner Bros decided to scrap the DCEU and start a new shared universe of films, Gunn was brought in to direct this film, as well as oversee the creation of the revamped DC universe of films.

Trivia: This film was accused of promoting violence against women, spearheaded by Rose McGowan, due to a promotional billboard that showed Apocalypse holding Mystique in a chokehold. Fox later apologized for the advertisement.

Trivia: Will Friedle and guest star Jennifer Love Hewitt dated in real life around the time this episode was filmed. Friedle believed the two of them would be together forever, which prompted Michael Jacobs to cast Hewitt in this episode for the sole purpose of killing her off in front of Eric, as a kind of cruel metaphor that, contrary to what Friedle thought, their relationship would eventually end.

Trivia: In the comics, Ruth Bat-Seraph goes by the codename Sabra and is a Mossad agent. Due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, her codename was omitted from the film, and her background as a Mossad agent was dropped in favour of her being a former Black Widow.

Trivia: In the months following this film's release, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld had a falling out with Marvel, alleging he and his family were mistreated by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, particularly at the after-party for the film's premiere. Liefeld later called for Marvel to fire Feige, saying that Feige needed to be "taken off the mound" and that he was "spent."

Trivia: This film marks the third time that a first Fantastic Four adaptation of a planned franchise was released during the fifth year of a decade. The first to get a theatrical release was directed by Tim Story and released in 2005, being successful enough to warrant a 2007 sequel. The second was the Josh Trank-directed "Fant4stic" in 2015, which ended up being a major box office bomb.
