Question: I've seen this movie several times, but could someone tell me if the alien or Riddick killed Fry?
Answer: The alien did it. Riddick is just starting to change a little bit, but he is pretty upset by her death nonetheless.
Question: Is it true there's going to be another 'Willy Wonka' movie starring Johnny Depp?
Answer: Yes. Tim Burton will direct the film and Johnny Depp will star as Wonka. The name of the film will be, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', just like the book that the movies are based on. Filming is scheduled to begin in May 2004.
Question: As none of the evil armies knew that the Rohirrim were coming for a surprise attack on the Pelennor Fields, why did they have the Mumakil, as they wouldn't really be able to attack Minas Tirith apart from damaging a few walls, they would have just got stuck behind the hordes of orcs (who wouldn't have run away towards Osgiliath) So why have them?
Answer: Sauron's forces are attacking Gondor, their primary foe in that part of Middle-Earth - this is not a time for holding anything back; they're going to throw everything that they've got into the mix. Anyway, they may well have suspected that the Rohirrim were going to get involved - it seems highly likely that Sauron's agents would have noticed the lighting of the beacons calling the Rohirrim to battle.
Question: When the turtle first meets Marlin, he talks about how he brought up his turtle offspring and says, "You know, you leave them on the beach to hatch on their own... and coo-coo-cachoo, they find their way back to the big old blue." Coo-coo-cachoo is also mentioned in the song 'Mrs. Robinson' by Simon and Garfunkel in the beginning of a chorus saying "Coo coo ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson, Jesus loves you more than you will know." Does anyone know if there is any connection between the phrases containing coo-coo-cachoo, or what the phrase's possible meaning?
Answer: The actual lyrics are "Koo-koo-ka-choo, Mrs. Robinson", but it most certainly is a part of the song "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon and Garfunkel. There is likely not a connection of any kind, or any hidden meaning, it's just a nonsense sound that is in more than one song.
Answer: Coo-coo-cachoo is not in Mrs Robinson, they actually sing woo hoo hoo and wow wow wow in that song. Coo-coo-cachoo is from a Beatles (and then Oasis) song called I am the Walrus. Other than the aquatic nature of the walrus being similar to that of the turtle there is no connection. The turtle was supposed to be a hipp-esque character prone to use unusual words and phrases like whoa, and like whoa!
"Koo-koo-ka-choo" is from "Ms. Robinson." The line in "I Am the Walrus" is "Goo goo g'joob"
Question: I'm sure I have seen this film in colour. Does anyone know if it has ever been shown in colour?
Chosen answer: I've seen it colorized several times on TNT and FMC.
Answer: He doesn't per se, the rats release him when they show up to move Mrs. Brisby's house.
Question: I would like to know if anyone knows of a company that sells the type of red jacket that Ewan McGregor wears throughout the movie, and if there is a specific name for that type of jacket?
Question: Where can I watch JUST the tap dancing footage without the courtroom scenes interrupting?
Answer: You could tape VCR-VCR and edit out the courtroom scenes. You just aren't going to find a DVD or VHS of any musical with only a few scenes removed to keep dance numbers in one piece.
Question: What is JJJ that was mentioned in some mistakes?
Answer: JJJ is J. Jonah Jameson, editor and owner of the Daily Bugle and Peter Parker's boss (as played by J.K. Simmons).
Question: At one point at the start, where you only see the gate keeper above his arms, his body slides up the wall, still parallel to the ground. How did this happen if it was just a dinosaur? And when I watched it, it looked as if his body just was sucked into the cage, not dragged, because it happened so suddenly as if a fan had been turned on. I'm not debating it's a raptor, just trying to understand what actually happens there.
Chosen answer: He falls and is dragged abruptly into the cage - the most likely explanation is that the velociraptor has grabbed his leg to pull him in. As it's a very sudden movement, it does look rather as if he's been sucked in, however, velociraptors are pretty much pure muscle, which would give the female in the cage the strength to pull him in that suddenly. Anyway, now that he's closer to her, she can now bite his torso, which would give her enough leverage to lift him off the ground in the manner that we see. As to why she'd do that rather than just turn her slicing claws on him, well, who can predict the actions of a really annoyed raptor.
Question: The Director states in the commentary that there are some clues to some kind of puzzle at certain scenes (such as When Lara is doing the bungee ballet and when Alex gets knifed). What are these clues that we're supposed to be looking for - something in the background? The action? Some kind of composition? And just what is the puzzle?
Answer: This movie left a lot of holes. It was pretty much: Lara knew what to do and she did it. Perhaps there are clues in the movie, but the book explains all the puzzles in much more detail (as books do). So if you are really interested in the deep puzzles of the adventure, the Tomb Raider book is what you should look at.
Question: Does anyone know where I can get a transcript of this movie? Also, does anyone know if the song we hear in the movie is the original?
Answer: I don't know about the script, but the song was definitely an original - and nominated for best original song that year.
Question: A friend told me that Catherine Zeta-Jones was pregnant during the filming of Chicago. Is it true?
Answer: Yeah she was if you look closely during "I can not do it alone" you can see.
Answer: No, she had said herself that she didn't get pregnant until just after filming was finished on "Intolerable Cruelty."
Question: On the extended DVD, where are the hidden 'easter eggs'?
Answer: Yes, there is one. On the second disk, go to "Interview and Profile" option on the main menu. On Bruce Willis' interview, press LEFT to move to the upper left of the screen and highlight the exit sign near the subway tunnel entrance. Press ENTER or OK to view outtakes from the movie.
Question: When the characters unsheathe their swords, they expose about a half foot of the sword, pause, then pull the sword out completely. Are these Tarantino effect shots, or is this a Samurai custom?
Chosen answer: This is a dramatic shot used in many kung fu movies of old. It's just a sort of tribute to the old martial arts movies which Kill Bill borrows many of its stylings from.
Question: It was mentioned several times throughout the movie that Lacuna Inc gets really busy on Valentines, and also at Joel's place when the tech guy tells Patrick to stop fooling around as they have to get moving to other jobs... So what happened to all the other clients since the remainder of the night was spent at Joel's place?
Answer: When the techs are packing up then next morning, the young guy (Kirsten's boyfriend) says something about having to get to the next job. So its safe to assume the erasure takes a good 8 hours to complete normally but Joel kept fighting them so it would have taken a little longer.
Question: What is the significance of the penguin as Ed Norton's "power animal"?
Answer: If you listen to the commentary the producer explains that the whole ice cave scene is himself reminiscing about some childrens' book series.
This is simply wrong. What the answer may be referring to is the director's instructions to make the penguin move like the ones in Mary Poppins.
Answer: Author Chuck Palanuik (who wrote the book) stated that he did a similar meditation practice where he was supposed to picture a "power animal," and a penguin popped into his head and told him to "slide." People have theorized that a cute, innocent animal telling him to "slide" in a childlike voice was meant to symbolize the narrator's (and presumably Palanuik's if his story is true) need to let go and relax and not let things get him down so much. (Represented by the penguin gleefully sliding away giggling like a child with not a care in the world).
Answer: Very good question. I was wondering that myself. Here is how I see it, and maybe I am not really right. But the one word used by his power animal was 'Slide'. It was repeated again when Marla Singer 'invaded' his conscious and unconscious manifestations as we find her in the cave. The movie is all about ripping him from ideological assumptions of the things Tyler wants his to see doesn't really matter in life. So here is the line of the movie: The ability to let that which does not matter truly slide."Here the word slide again.
Question: One of the mistakes on this site state that you can see Crutchy dancing without the use of his crutch. When and during which number?
Answer: During the "Two for a Penny" sequence in Carrying the Banner, you can see Crutchy dancing in one of the back rows on the right without his crutch. You can also see him walking without it behind David during the first Sieze the Day when David sings "Arise and seize the day!"
