Question: I don't understand why we hear a very high pitched ringing sound sometimes (like when the detectives find the bodies in the attic, or when Karen sees what really happened in the house).

Answer: That ringing sound is the sound the girl makes when she is getting ready to kill someone.

Question: Does Greit say yes when Peiter asks her to marry him? I couldn't work this out.

Answer: Obviously, since she married him in the end.

Question: Why is the very first scene, before the audience is introduced to any of the four main characters, included? If it was just to show the creepy guys Cassie believes are chasing her, why not just keep it at the gothic rave?

Answer: I believe it's both a red herring (Oh, another slasher teen horror) and an attempt at making it more believeable that there are these killers chasing Cassie throughout her 'dream'.

Question: Is it ever revealed what Frankie's secret is? Why is he estranged from his daughter and looking for forgiveness?

Answer: No, the cause of conflict between Frankie and his daughter is never revealed - we only know that she returns his weekly letters, and it has been some time since they have had contact.

Answer: No, he destroyed the statue. The spirit of the guardian survived, but now had no way to manifest itself physically. Presumably, once a new statue was created, the guardian would be able to embody it and come to life.

Answer: No. One theory is that Mulan is the "Great Dragon", as the dragon represents protection, etc, and she protected her family. If you look closely, you can find the Great Stone Dragon watching over Mulan in a few scenes (like in the sword she used to cut her hair).

Question: When Dr. Octavius is out cold in the hospital, he has bandages covering his eyes. Since his eyes were protected during his demonstration and when he took them off to see his wife had been hit by debris, why would he need the bandages? His eyes were never damaged.

Answer: As the surgeons were going to be using metal cutting equipment, it makes sense they don't want bits falling into his eyes - the surgeons themselves all have protective goggles on. His eyes were also arguably damaged from the light of the artificial sun, despite the protective coverings. It's why he's wearing sunglasses for the rest of the film. It's also noted in the comics that Doc Ock's eyes were damaged during his accident, thus making him sensitive to bright light.

Question: I was really confused by the ending, who were the three figures we kept seeing, and what were they trying to do?

Answer: The figures are spirits who figured out how to contact the living, like Michael Keaton's wife. But where his wife wants him to help others, the three spirits are evil and want to only do bad things.

Answer: He didn't wish for it just to get more toys. He did it because he enjoys all of the Christmas experience, including his Mom and Dad being able to stay home, and not having to be babysat by Vicki.

Question: How many people were on the bus throughout the movie (counting Jack, Annie, Sam, & Helen)?

Answer: There appears to be 20. On IMDb, some have character names and others are listed as "bus passenger".

Macalou

Chosen answer: The actors were weighted down with lead plates. Oxygen tanks were kept just out of picture, and the actors used them to breathe between takes. The takes were short enough to allow the actors to hold their breath through them. The short takes were then cut together to appear as one long fight. Sound effects were added post-production.

Question: I'm confused by one of the listed mistakes. When did we see Jon's ghost?

Answer: On the television at the end of the movie, we also hear his voice on the radio when his wife and son are sitting in the car after his funeral.

Migster

Question: In Brooklyn, why does Francis Dolarhyde eat the Blake painting? I've watched the movie twice, and I still don't understand that scene.

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: Dolarhyde thinks that by eating the painting, he can destroy the Red Dragon from inside of him. He is trying to stop the monster/killer side of his personality because he wants to lead a normal life with Reba.

Question: Why don't they get one or more orcs to guard the crack of mount doom? Surely they could have spared a couple of orcs just in case someone managed to get through?

Answer: Guard it from who? One of the premises of the whole plot is that Sauron simply cannot believe that someone would want to destroy the ring rather than use it themself. That's why the plan succeeded, and that's the only reason it succeeded. The loss of the ring forced Sauron to make his move early (i.e. sending out his armies sooner than he would have wanted) to stop whoever was using the ring (the only possibility in his mind) from gaining too much power. So who would want to go into Mt. Doom? Besides the fact they'd have to get INTO Mordor first (something which Sauron would have laughed at anyway) they could do nothing there anyway, unless they were there to destroy the ring, which is something Sauron didn't even consider. It'd just be an utter waste of man (orc?)power.

Gary O'Reilly

Question: Who is the mentally handicapped guy with thick glasses who says, "I think she's very beautiful."? He only appears in one scene and doesn't seem to contribute anything else to the movie.

Answer: He's just another "member" of their video night group, and the character probably wasn't needed for the whole movie.

Question: Shouldn't cold air which was severe enough to kill a person upon exposure, have been cold enough to freeze the liquid in an LCD display?

Answer: It should. But perhaps Dr Hall carrys it close to himself, warming it with his own body heat, and only takes it out briefly to look at it.

Question: Very near the beginning, Marianne is playing this tune that she says was her father's favourite and Elanor tells her to stop. What is the tune and is it possible to find music for it? It's not the 'Weep You No More Sad Fountains' one.

Answer: This song is titled "Father's Favourite" on the movie soundtrack and you can listen to a sample here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000029OJ/102-6262984-3788106?v=glance. You can also purchase sheet music for the song here: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/store/smp_detail.html?sku=HL.351503&cart=33192619781507038&searchtitle=sheet music&type=rec.

Question: What's having with the DVD releases of this film and the original? I've heard numerous reports that there are going to be special editions of both DVD's released soon, so I'm loathe to buy the feature-light ones that are out at the moment, but so far nothing has been announced. Also, is there going to be a box set released? Lastly, is the version that Tarantino screened at a recent film festival (both volumes edited together into one movie) ever going to be released?

Answer: I recently heard talk on a reliable website that a Kill Bill Special edition was going to be released later this year and that an announcement should be made soon but nothing more definite than that. The main reason for the long delay was that Tarantino wanted to re-edit the two films together to make the one film (as you mentioned) and then have it re-released. As for what the special edition will contain or even if it will be released as one film is anyone's guess at this point.

Lummie

Answer: Update: As of early 2019, the extended version of the film (Known as "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair") has not been officially released on DVD or Blu-Ray, but it has been screened at several film festivals. Hopefully it'll eventually be released on home media.

Question: Near the start of the film when the woman who throws herself off the building is being chased up the steps, she gets bitten on her lower left arm and another bite just appears on the top of her same arm. I never saw how she got this. Did she get bitten again?

Answer: Yes, she gets bitten twice.

Answer: The coyote may be a metaphor for Vincent's life. A lone predator lost in a world that doesn't understand him.

Answer: In many Native American cultures, seeing a coyote cross the road ahead of you means bad luck. So I think he knows everything is going to go south.

Question: At the beginning at the movie, there is a scene with Val Kilmer using a red/pink t-shirt and it is very visible a swelling in the elbow of his left arm. Can anyone tell me what is that?

Answer: It's an injury he picked up while working on "The Doors". One scene required him to dive off a stage, and the director had him repeat this many times. During one take, he landed quite heavily on his left elbow, which caused a permanent swelling.

It's actually Olecranon Bursitis.
