Similar blunder a moment later, when she starts saying that Burt never interviews juniors; his hand should be on his left cheek, but in the reverse shot it's not there; he touches it only a second later. A couple of scenes later in the day, he is called into court for a 3 PM arraignment; he complains about having just 15 minutes to get there, and his wristwatch now shows it's a little after half past noon when he cleans the spilled coffee, and then a couple of minutes before noon when he rubs his eyes. Continuity mistake: Ben joins Judge Carter Addison in his room in the first part of the episode. Addison is on the phone. Before he finally hangs up, he says, "Okay, I'll see you then." Continuity mistake: During the introduction of the trial, the first time we see the defendant as Judge Thelma Stewart reads his name, there is a pen in front of him, horizontal, off the notepad. Wider angles show the pen on top of the notepad.

Continuity mistake: In the kitchen scene at the beginning of the movie, the protagonist's pregnant wife jokes about him saying something "wildly inappropriate" to the judge to be exempted. In close-up, she has no hair running down the front of her left shoulder, as opposed to the rest of the scene.

Continuity mistake: In the flashback from their first shot at the lawsuit, Olympia joins the factory worker for his smoke break. She tells him she actually quit, and he asks her, "You miss it?", lowering his arms. When she replies in the next shot, he lowers them again. She also holds the cigarette in a different way. Continuity mistake: When Macrinus is poisoning Caracalla's mind, telling him about supposed plans of his brother to use him as a scapegoat, Caracalla shouts, "That's a LIE, he's... he always LIES." The cup suddenly switched hands.
