Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: Co-star Danielle Bisutti was related to a studio executive at United Artists. When she was a kid, she visited the studio and saw the poster for the original "Child's Play" and was horrified by it, saying that it "haunted" her. This makes it all the more ironic that she would go on to star in "Curse of Chucky," one of its many sequels.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: Christine Elise, who previously played Kyle in "Child's Play 2", was originally meant to play Nica's mother in a cameo, as director Don Mancini wanted to work with her, but due to casting laws in Canada, where the film was shot, Elise wasn't able to be cast. Mancini later brought her back as her original character Kyle in "Cult of Chucky" and the "Chucky" TV series.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: Lead effects artist Tony Gardner actually filmed Chucky's voice actor, Brad Dourif, when he was recording his lines to use as reference, since Dourif had a tendency to move and gesture a lot when recording his lines. Gardner then had the puppeteers replicate Dourif's mannerisms as closely as they could with the Chucky doll. Dourif's daughter, Fiona, who stars in the film, was very amused by the fact Chucky was moving almost exactly like her father does in real life.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: The elevator seen throughout the movie wasn't actually properly functional, since building a functional elevator would have been prohibitively expensive. In order to make it move, it was rigged to a forklift via a concealed winch. The forklift would drive back and forth, pulling the winch and making the elevator move up and down.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: The interior of the house is actually the same indoor set used for the 2012 TV movie "Home Alone: The Holiday Heist." Since it was already built, it saved the production a ton of money. All they had to do was modify it to look more gothic and add the elevator, and it suddenly looked like a completely different "house."

Bride of Chucky (1998)

Trivia: In the original draft of the script, rather than looking for the amulet, Chucky and Tiffany had to drive to Hackensack to find a voodoo witch-doctor to transfer their souls into human hosts, but this was changed during the writing process.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Trivia: In the first cut of the film, Alice was actually killed by Chucky right after he comes to life, and she would have been the first victim, as well as Chucky's youngest victim at that point in the franchise. However, due to the tragic Sandy Hook shooting, the studio and director Don Mancini decided to change her fate and instead have Chucky possess her. The scene of Chucky locking her in the closet and the final scene of her being possessed were added during post-production.

Trivia: The film was originally more intricate and had more going on, but much of the material was cut due to budgetary constraints. A few plot-centric scenes were also cut during editing, with Vincent Price needing to record new voice-over to deliver plot exposition. (This is why it appears that Phibes sometimes talks without having his voice box plugged in.)

Trivia: The abrupt resurrection of Vulnavia, who was apparently killed by acid in the previous film, is never explained. Originally, it was meant to be a different assistant helping Phibes in this film, but it was changed to be Vulnavia once again. The scrapped third film would have reportedly revealed she was actually the physical embodiment of the Goddess Athena, hence her ability to reconstitute a physical form.

Trivia: A third film was planned that would have either seen Phibes battling Nazis or trying to discover the gods of Mount Olympus, but due to a variety of business reasons, it never happened.

The Whale (2022)

Trivia: The film was shot in 4:3 fullscreen in an attempt to accent the cramped confines of Charlie's apartment and drive home his isolation by limiting the size of the frame.

The Whale (2022)

Trivia: The film was widely hailed as the peak of the "Brenaissance," a bit of a meme about the career resurgence for star Brendan Fraser, who was a mainstay in Hollywood in the 90s and early 2000s before his career began to dry up due to a variety of factors. Fraser is widely beloved by audiences and many of his former co-stars, and he was cheered on by them when the film was released.

Music (2021)

Trivia: According to director Sia, star Maddie Ziegler broke down crying on set one day because she was worried that autistic people would think she was "making fun" of them.

Music (2021)

Trivia: The film became infamous for its portrayal of autism, the casting of a neurotypical actor in the lead role, and for director Sia working with Autism Speaks, a highly controversial group. Sia initially fought back against the criticism, but later relented and apologised for the mistakes she made making the film.

Trivia: A video-game adaptation for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance was being made alongside the film. However, the movie was held up in production, and the game ended up being released a year before the movie. It was also based on an earlier draft of the script and was thus quite different plot-wise. A "sequel" game following the movie much more closely was subsequently released after the movie. The games were notable for being first-person shooters that pushed the GBA's hardware to its limits.

TedStixon

Trivia: Phibes was originally much more devious and unlikeable in the original script, but his character was slightly mellowed out in subsequent drafts, which made his motives clearer and based on losing his wife, and removed any violence not aimed at his targets.

Trivia: The bats that eat one of Phibes' victims are actually "played" by flying foxes, which are a very peaceful type of fruit bat that don't eat meat (outside of some insects) and are typically very docile.

Trivia: The film's original tagline was "Love means never having to say you're ugly!" in a play on the famous line "Love means never having to say you're sorry..." from the film "Love Story."

TedStixon

Trivia: The characters Molly and Joey, played by Paula Marshall and Danny Nucci, end up falling in love and getting together by the end of the movie. In a case of real life imitating art, a few years after this movie came out, Marshall and Nucci reconnected, fell in love, and got married.
