Trivia: Tobe Hooper played up the black comedy in this sequel as he felt that all the dark humor in the original had been ignored by audiences due to the film's shocking content. He wanted to make sure that audiences knew the film was meant to be scary AND funny.

Child's Play (1988)

Trivia: Many ideas from the original script that were cut were later recycled into the various sequels. Series creator Don Mancini has stated that if he comes up with a good scene that doesn't quite fit one Chucky movie, he always keeps it written down because there's a very good chance it could be used in a later sequel.

Child's Play (1988)

Trivia: In an eerie example of life sort of imitating art, Ed Gale, an actor with dwarfism who doubled as Chucky in a couple of shots in the first few of the "Child's Play" movies (in addition to playing the titular character in "Howard the Duck"), was caught by an online sex predator hunting group in a sting operation in 2023.

Child's Play (1988)

Trivia: Chris Sarandon was supposed to be top-billed, but insisted that Catherine Hicks instead be given top billing, despite being a smaller "name," as she was the lead character and he admired her performance.

Child's Play (1988)

Trivia: The actor in the full-sized Chucky suit on the commercial was John Franklin, perhaps best known for playing Isaac in the original "Children of the Corn." Isaac often portrayed younger or smaller-statured "suit" characters despite being an adult due to a growth-hormone deficiency that resulted in him being shorter than average. (And having a very young-looking face.)

The Gang Goes to the Jersey Shore - S7-E2

Trivia: When Frank and Mac are on the ship, you can see a short woman in sunglasses dancing near Frank in a few shots. If you're familiar with internet culture, you might recognize her as Rosanna Pansino, a famous YouTuber. (Though here she's made up to resemble "Snooki" from the show "Jersey Shore"). Pansino is known for her nerd-themed cooking show "Nerdy Nummies," silly challenge videos, and product reviews. She's a huge Danny DeVito fan and managed to score a role as an extra on this episode.

Chucky (2021)

Halloween II - S2-E1

Trivia: When the bomb goes off, if you pay attention, the green smoke that billows into the sky subtly takes on the image of Chucky's face for a few seconds.

TedStixon

Trivia: John Franklin, who plays the villainous Isaac, was actually a full-grown man in his mid-20s. He had a growth hormone deficiency when he was growing up, and as a result, he never grew taller than 5' and had a slightly lighter voice. This made him perfect for the role as he looked and sounded the part, and also didn't have to deal with the restrictions that come with child labour laws.

TedStixon

Trivia: Some supporters of the film attempted to spread misinformation by claiming that theatres were purposely cancelling and "sabotaging" shows in an attempt to "silence" it due to its religious nature and associations with the Q-Anon movement. However, the studio behind the film stated that these stories were untrue.

TedStixon

Trivia: The film uses a "pay it forward" campaign in which audiences could pay for a ticket to be donated and claimed by another person. Shortly after its release, there were reports that many people attended screenings that were labelled as sold-out or nearly sold-out, only for there to be many empty seats in the theatre. This has called the film's box office success into question, as many believe its gross was artificially padded by people over-buying "pay it forward" tickets that were never claimed.

Trivia: Paul Reubens' final scripted film/television performances as his iconic character Pee-Wee Herman before he tragically passed away from cancer in 2023.

TedStixon

Trivia: Paul Reubens revealed that, in addition to old makeup tricks, digital effects were used to de-age him for the film, to make him look more like he did in the previous films. Reubens remarked that when he was told how expensive the de-aging effects were during post-production, he realised it would have actually been significantly cheaper for him to have just gotten extensive plastic surgery to make himself look younger before filming.

Oppenheimer (2023)

Trivia: Director Christopher Nolan usually prefers using practical effects when possible. For the scene where the nuclear bomb is tested, a more manageably-sized explosion was created by a pyrotechnics team. The explosion was actually fairly close to the actors, but was filmed at specific camera angles to make it seem further away and thus bigger (a technique called "forced perspective"). Super-slow-motion was also utilized, as it subconsciously creates the illusion of a larger scale.

Silent Hill (2006)

Trivia: In the original video game, the town of Silent Hill is getting unseasonable snow. However, the film reinterpreted the snow as ash. This caused a "Mandela Effect", where people began to mistakenly think that the snow in the original game was also ash. This misconception became so widespread, many people actually argued with the creators about it online and tried to explain their own game to them. (The same goes for the film using the town of Centralia as inspiration, which the game didn't.)

Trivia: The characters Heather and Josh, originally had a much more antagonistic relationship during filming, much like Heather and Mike do in the final film. However, most of Heather and Josh's arguments were cut during editing because the directors felt it came across as too mean-spirited to have both men constantly "ganging up" on Heather and arguing with her.

TedStixon

Trivia: The film was originally meant to be a full-on fake documentary, with the "found footage" only being part of it, and the rest of the film being interviews with family, friends, and authorities. However, the "found footage" was so chilling, the directors decided it would be the entire film. The original "fake documentary" concept was then turned into a tie-in TV special called "Curse of the Blair Witch," which aired around the same time the movie came out.

TedStixon

Trivia: Heather Donahue reportedly snuck a knife to set and would carry it on her because her family was convinced that the movie was secretly a snuff film, and were creeped out at the fact she'd be sharing a tent with two men she barely knew.

TedStixon

Trivia: When Heather screams "What the f*** is that?", you can't see anything in the darkness. This was unintentional. They had a crewmember wrapped head-to-toe in white, and as Heather ran by, he charged towards her. The theory was that in the dark, the cameras would only just barely see his white clothes, making him look like a spectral figure. But it was so dark the cameras didn't pick him up. The directors decided it was far scarier to not see anything, so they didn't reshoot it.

TedStixon

Trivia: The creators and producers reportedly weren't too keen on the finished film, and have said that while an eighth film is planned, the franchise will likely go on an indefinite hiatus after it is released, as they feel the franchise became too stale, drawn out with too many sequels too quickly, and needs time to rest.

TedStixon

Trivia: The first entry in the series not to be released in theaters. It was originally meant to be a theatrical release but due to complications from the COVID-19 pandemic, studio Blumhouse decided to release it as a Paramount+ original film in October 2021. It was subsequently given a Blu-Ray release one year later in October 2022, exclusively as part of a box set containing all seven films.
