Question: SPOILERS: When Sonic and Shadow land on the moon, they have a heart-to-heart conversation and appear to be breathing. But there's no air on the moon. Are we to assume that the Chaos Emeralds (which have given them both powers) are giving them the ability to breathe and speak in the environment?

Answer: Hey, it's a video game movie. Logic may not necessarily apply here.

Rob245

This isn't a valid answer. Logic doesn't have to apply; the question is, what in-movie or in-game reason is there? If there's no explanation given, that would be a valid answer. Pointing out the obvious is pedantic at best.

Trivia: SPOILERS: There are two credits sequences. In the first sequence, Sonic encounters a group of Metal Sonics that try to kill him. However, he is saved by Amy Rose, a character from the games. A post-credits scene shows Shadow's feet walking up to a crater where one of his gauntlets landed, revealing that he survived his apparent demise.

Trivia: Dr. Robotnik's main ship is shaped like a crab. In the video games, Robotnik creates multiple enemies that resemble crabs.

Trivia: The mascots at the restaurant are based on the Chaos, a race from the video games.

Trivia: During the race at the start of the film, Sonic runs by a goal sign, making it spin. He did the same thing at the end of every level in the original video games.

Trivia: When Jim Carrey announced he was considering retiring from acting, he jokingly said he would consider returning to act if "angels" delivered a script "written in gold ink." In order to get Carrey back for this film, director Jeff Fowler had a copy of the script made that was printed in actual 24 karat golden ink to show how serious he was about the movie and the character.

Trivia: Director Jeff Fowler, who directed all three "Sonic the Hedgehog" movies, actually worked on the game "Shadow the Hedgehog" as an animation director. Given his past with the character, he was excited and honoured to be the one who got to introduce Shadow on the big screen.

Trivia: Following the release of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2", co-star Jim Carrey stated that he was considering retiring from acting, as he felt he had "done enough" in the film industry and was becoming somewhat burned out. However, he eventually agreed to star in this film because he loves playing the evil-genius Dr. Robotnik. Carrey also laughingly admitted that the huge paycheck he got was one of the deciding factors, especially because he "buys a lot of stuff."
