Trivia: A DVD-quality version of a rough cut of the film was leaked online only about one month before the film was released in theaters. With the exception of unfinished sound and effects, and a different font in the opening credits, the workprint was nearly identical to the finished film.

X-Men 3 (2006)

Trivia: Matthew Vaughn was originally slated to direct, but dropped out of the project because of the rushed schedule, feeling that he couldn't make a movie up to the standard of the first two with the time allotted. Several of his decisions did make it to the final film, though, including the casting of Kelsey Grammer. Vaughn later went on to direct the prequel "X-Men: First Class."

X-Men 3 (2006)

Trivia: Ellen Page alleged that director Brett Ratner was inappropriate on set, including outing her as a lesbian at a cast event eight years before she actually came out publicly, and suggesting that another woman should have sex with her to make her "realise she's gay." Co-star Anna Paquin backed up her claims.

X-Men 3 (2006)

Trivia: Bryan Singer's original vision in the film involved Jean coming back to life as the Dark Phoenix and being manipulated into joining the Hellfire Club, led by Emma Frost. The film would be about the struggle between the X-Men, the Hellfire Club and the Brotherhood, who all seek to control Jean for their own purposes. In the end, Jean would have killed herself to save the X-Men, and transcended a higher plane of existence, which one of the writers compared to the ending of "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Trivia: Peter Dinklage was cast partially because of his dwarfism. Dinklage has also stated that it informs the character, as Trask is a bit of a "mutant" himself because of his height, and he hates how it makes him different... thus furthering his hatred of the mutants.

Elf (2003)

Trivia: Originally, the store Buddy and Jovie work in was supposed to be a Macy's. However, Macy's quickly dropped out of the project when they got the script and saw that there was a scene where Buddy confronts a fake mall-Santa in the store for not being the real Santa. Reportedly, Macy's representatives indignantly told the studio that "Macy's Santa is the REAL Santa!"

Elf (2003)

Deliberate mistake: When Jade is killed, Kahn is holding her up by her neck about a foot above the ground as the monster appears behind her. Right before the monster bites down and eats her, Kahn lets go over her neck... and she just sort-of floats in place. She should have fallen back down given she was being held above ground. (In all likelihood, the actress was standing on a box or something to make it look like Kahn was holding her up.) This happens a bit quickly, so it can be hard to catch.

The Transporter (2002)

Trivia: The oil during the oil fight was reportedly a syrup made primarily of molasses since it looked enough like oil and was safer to work with. It unfortunately had the side effect of making everyone and everything incredibly sticky for shooting of the scene.

Trivia: The scene of Scott's powers appearing in a school bathroom as a teenager was written for the original "X-Men" but never filmed for time and budgetary reasons.

Trivia: Getting the character Quicksilver into the film was a bit of a legal minefield. Both Marvel Studios and Fox wanted to use the character in their own projects, but there wasn't any sort of formal agreement over him. Eventually, a resolution was reached - Quicksilver could appear in "Days of Future Past," but with no references to "The Avengers" or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And he could similarly appear in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," so long as there were no references to mutants or the X-Men.

The Wolverine (2013)

Trivia: Darren Aronofsky was attached to write and direct at one point, but dropped out of the project after six months. The studio reportedly didn't like his script, which was also far more brutal and featured heavy sexual content.

Trivia: The original ending featured Wolverine being given his classic comic costume by Yukio, but it was cut from the film.

Trivia: While technically a prequel to the previous films, director Matthew Vaughn chose to ignore some pieces of continuity from the previous films (particularly the third film and "Origins") to help the movie stand on its own, and be able to be seen as a prequel, a reboot or both.

Trivia: Stan Lee was meant to have a cameo, but was unable to because the shoot was happening too far away from him, and he didn't feel up to traveling.

Trivia: Director Matthew Vaughn was originally slated to direct "X-Men: The Last Stand," but dropped out of that film over worries about the rushed schedule. He finally returned to the series with this film.
