Corrected entry: In the scene at the warehouse, where Ian and Erin work, Ian is holding a nail gun. When he is lifted up on the forklift he is holding the gun pointed down, but when it cuts to a frontal shot of him, he is holding the gun pointing upwards, in front of his face.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Markinson surprises Danny in the backseat of his car you can tell he is not really driving the car because it is a straight road and he is constantly turning the wheel back and forth.
Correction: Danny drives an old car from the 60s that has never been restored, so the steering would be VERY loose. Even on straight roads you would have to move the steering wheel a lot just to make small corrections.
Corrected entry: At the end where everyone is singing in their graduation gowns, when they grab their caps and throw them up, you see in the front Stephanie grab hers but it drops off her head.
Correction: This is hardly a movie mistake. It could barely pass for trivia either. Okay, so Stephanie's cap fell off - accidents happen.
Corrected entry: In the movie, Meg Ryan runs into the Empire State Building and begs to be allowed to go to the observation deck. In reality, Meg would've had to wait in the ticket line for an observation deck ticket and then in line to board an elevator to the top of the building. No one is allowed on the observation deck without a ticket.
Correction: She wasn't in line because there was no one there, since it was closing. The security guard made the decision to let her go up, because he felt bad for her.
Corrected entry: When Jack and Angela are on the boat, Jack puts a gun in his jacket pocket. A few minutes later, Jack drops his jacket to the floor but the noise that you hear when it hits the floor surely isn't loud enough for a gun to be in his pocket?
Correction: Since the gun is IN his pocket, the sound of contact when dropped to the deck is muffled by the fabric.
Corrected entry: In the starting scene, Julia Roberts is in the restaurant tasting food. From one shot, coming up behind her, you can see the rim of Julia's glasses on the side of her face. Then when the shot changes, so we see her from the front, you can clearly see she is not wearing glasses.
Correction: The first shot we see of Julia Roberts if of the front of her face, and she is not wearing glasses. I froze the shot that's referenced, and it only looks like she's wearing glasses. It's the way the curls fall on the side of her face that only make it seem that rims of glasses are visible. She doesn't wear any glasses during the movie.
Corrected entry: Dan backs the station wagon into the police car, yet in later scenes the back of the car is shown and it has no damage at all.
Corrected entry: When Christof touches the huge screen with the image of Truman sleeping, his hand casts a shadow. However, the only light source in the control room is the screen itself. This reveals that the scene was composited using a blue screen.
Corrected entry: Also, during the 4th of July festivities, multiple fisherman were mistaken for the killer. This was because they were wearing full raincoats and rain hats. The 4th of July in the Carolinas is too hot, (way too hot) to be wearing winter foul weather gear.
Correction: This is the people's own decision - if they want to wear this clothing, they can. Plus most of it is fishing / working clothing.
Corrected entry: They have Heather twice on the two different cameras - it's really obvious when she finds the mysterious thing, and the second obvious time is when she pants and slows down.
Correction: This is supposed to be a documentary compiled by footage discovered, so in all likelyhood, they simply were recording on and off throughout the days, allowing for her to be in two camera angles at once in the finished film, as one camera could have been shut off, and handed over to another person, etc.
Corrected entry: Right before Kirk beams aboard the Klingon vessel, Spock pats him on the back. He turns around and you can see the large black tracking device that Spock has stuck to his back. Throughout the film they use this device to track Kirk. Kirk was arrested, sentenced, and sent to a prison. Kirk wears his uniform throughout this entire process and the tracking device is blatantly obvious on him. Why didn't any Of his many Klingon guards frisk him and remove it?
Correction: This is not a tracking device, it is simply a patch made of viridium. The Klingons might not have known what is was or, if they did, that the Enterprise's scanners were capable of detecting this substance across a great distance.
Corrected entry: Eye scanners can tell the difference between living eyes and dead ones from the pulses in the blood vessels. If the eyes have been removed and shoved in a bag, the scanners shouldn't have recognized them in the first place.
Correction: Yes, some eye scanners can tell the difference between living and dead eyes. These ones can't, that's not a movie mistake.
Corrected entry: The ray-gun used by Retik, the ruler of the moon people, is of a very inefficient design, as it will only fire a single shot before needing to be reloaded, a process that takes a surprisingly long time.
Correction: Much like the fire-locks, flint-locks and other muskets that were one shot and took a long time to reload. Who knows how technology advanced on the Moon for the moon people. Maybe that was their first creation of a ray-gun.
Corrected entry: The bullet that hits the first lady was an "ice projectile". Ice bullets are impossible to fire because no matter how cold they were, they would melt almost instantly from the heated gases used to propel a bullet once it leaves the barrel.
Correction: Wayans' character didn't know this, he just thought it was a dumb idea, but the real shooter didn't use an ice projectile bullet.
Corrected entry: When the flames are shooting down the tunnel, they overturn the coffin for protection. Just before this, however, Elsa is holding the torch, the next second it's gone. (00:35:45)
Correction: Well, obviously since she was in a state of panic, she dropped it. Or, since she knew they were going under highly flammable petroleum, she could have thrown it away from herself.
Corrected entry: When the truck is driven into the alley in the side mirror you can see the police car in the background. But in the next scene the cop car is only just pulling up blocking the entry to the alley. (00:02:20 - 00:04:15)
Correction: If this refers to the opening scene with the truck load of cigarettes, there is no such moment or error. The truck is stopped in the first shot of it, seen from far above as Axel steps out. The mirrors of the truck are never looked into by the camera before the chase is well underway.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the owl comes to Eddie Murphy's cabin, the owl stick has a stick in its arm. Eddie Murphy takes it out and the owl says "Thanks" and flies away, and you can hear its wings beating, but in real life owls make no sound.
Correction: Owls make no noise when gliding. Few birds do. When they flap their wings they make an audible sound, just like every other bird on the planet.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the band is visiting Ray's music shop to buy some equipment, there is a dancing scene. In one of the scenes that show Jake and Elwood dancing, there is a rather large, black box just popping out of nowhere. If you play it slow, you can see that that single part was cut together from two different shots.
Correction: I have watched this scene several times looking for this. The only black box I can see in this scene is the bottom of Ray's Rhodes piano. It's the model known as the "suitcase" piano, which has an amplifier and speakers in the bottom, as opposed to the "stage" model which had chrome-plated legs and was open underneath. The Stage piano had neither amplifier nor speakers onboard.
Corrected entry: When Lucy is first kissed by George Emerson he first grabs her by her head and then her waist. When she thinks back to this moment he only grabs her by the waist.
Correction: The second time we see this, it is as a memory, and memories are seldom exactly accurate. As such, this is a mistake on Lucy's part.
Corrected entry: When all the girls arrive at the boat, Nick says that they are twelve, but actually there are more.
Correction: Nope, there are twelve.
Correction: Just as he reaches the top with the forklift the camera is looking up from his left side you can see him raise the gun up with his right hand.
