Corrected entry: When the truck is driven into the alley in the side mirror you can see the police car in the background. But in the next scene the cop car is only just pulling up blocking the entry to the alley. (00:02:20 - 00:04:15)
Corrected entry: When Daniel plays the Joke on Johnny in the bathroom at the school dance he runs out of the bathroom before Johnny knows who it is but yet Johnny runs right past the kid dressed as spider man and out of the bathroom. How did he know it wasn't the kid who was dressed as Spider Man who sprayed him with water?
Correction: These people all go to school together, they know each other well. Johnny knows that "Spider-Man" wouldn't have done something like that to him. Either out of fear or friendship, we don't know. Most people at that school would fit into either of those categories as Johnny is an extremely aggressive bully. Only Daniel, the new kid, would have had the nerve to do something like that.
Correction: And the kid dressed as Spider man goes to cobra kai.
Corrected entry: When the pilots are jumping out of the plane, snow from a blizzard is seen entering the door. Yet several minutes later when Indiana Jones, Willie and Short Round exit the plane, the clouds from the storm aren't anywhere around, there is only clear, beautiful sky.
Corrected entry: Prince concentrates on the chalk mark of his father's suicide attempt in the basement just before he flips out. Funny, but I thought they only made chalk outlines for people who actually died. (01:19:23)
Correction: This scene is happening in his head. After he sees the outline, he shakes his head drastically trying to get control of himself again because he knows the image isn't real. After this, he goes rapid fire through images of what he believes will happen to him if he stays on the path he is going, which makes him lose all control and start destroying the basement. Finding his father's music brings him out of it.
Corrected entry: The clothes of Freddy Krueger were based on the clothes of a homeless man that scared Wes Craven as a teenager.
Correction: Actually just that hat was inspired by a homeless man, the sweat shirt was from an article Wes read stating that red and green are two colors the human eye have trouble processing next to eachother (watch 'Special features' on the Platinum edition DVD).
Corrected entry: When the Terminator is killing Sarah Connor's roommate and boyfriend, the sound of the phone being knocked around, enough to be off the hook, is heard. Shortly after the killings, a call (from Sarah herself) comes in and the phone rings until the machine picks up. (00:31:40)
Correction: It is not the phone you hear being knocked off, it is the portable cassette tape player she is wearing that's hitting the floor when she falls down.
Corrected entry: They make the point that Ted can't take the prom queen home in Jake's car because he does not know how to drive a stick shift (Jake's Porsche) so Ted takes her home in Jake's dad's Rolls-Royce. Later in the movie when Jake shows up at the wedding, you can see that the Porsche is an automatic as he shifts it into drive.
Correction: The 944 Jake Ryan drove in to the church parking lot had a standard (stick shift) transmission. If you listen to the engine, he is shifting in to first gear and easing off the clutch (engine revving high RPM), not putting the car in to drive.
Corrected entry: At the end when Ren and Willard are fighting the guys outside the dance, they get noticeably dirty. When Ren returns to the dance, his clothes are clean.
Correction: The prom suit may have looked clean, but I could definitely tell it had some soil on it, even without a close up.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Patrick Swayse laments the loss of his best friend (who he just executed for treason), Patrick sits on a log in the snow and cries. For a brief shining moment a large snot bubble appears out of his right nostril then gets sucked back into his nose.
Correction: When people cry their nose runs. How is this trivia?
Corrected entry: When the truckers are harassing Supergirl, one of them gets thrown 20 feet, and yet they don't find that unusual? They just keep coming until they can't anymore.
Correction: They're drunk? They're on drugs? Their sex drive's messing with their common sense? Many factors could be responsible for why they kept coming.
Corrected entry: During the torture scene Winston has a tooth removed yet later on during the rat cage torture scene the tooth is back.
Correction: If you were to read the book, you would know that the Ministry of Love gives him dentures and they even leave him be for days at a time where he can eat healthy and work back his strength. The dentures are to prepare him to go back to Oceania so that he doesn't look beaten or abused. If you look closely, you can tell that his teeth are drastically different and whiter, to hint that they are dentures.
Corrected entry: Near the end when the Ghostbusters are talking with the mayor, Ray's hair is flat on his head. In the next scene when they get to Dana's building his hair is full and wavy. Would he have washed and blow dried between scenes?
Correction: Of course he washed and blow dried his hair between scenes. After speaking with the mayor, the Ghostbusters obviously had to go back to the firehouse (which isn't very far from city hall) to get Ecto 1, along with their uniforms and proton packs. While there, he did his hair. The Ghostbusters then drove Ecto 1 back to city hall to meet their escort and head to Dana's building.
Corrected entry: The alien intelligence behind the monoliths may be good at sending trite little messages of peace love and happiness, but they have just condemned the human race to extinction, along with every living thing on our planet. They change the solar system to a binary star system, which will inevitably alter the Earth's orbit. This will cause earthquakes that would make the planet uninhabitable, and the climate changes will finish off the few survivors. Turning Jupiter into a star capable of sustaining life will involve somewhow increasing its mass by approximately two hundred and fifty times. Jupiter simply isn't massive enough to become even a small, cold star (known as a brown dwarf) by itself. Using super-dense netron matter won't work: super dense matter is super heavy, that's the whole point. If you don't hugely increase Jupiter's mass it cannot become a sun.
Correction: The power source for the new star is the millions of monoliths that are multiplying within it, generating a form of alien energy that does not exist in the real universe. It apparently has abilities that we cannot comprehend but, like many things in the sci-fi universe, we will just have to accept as working the way it is shown in the movie. It is a fictional technology capable of turning Jupiter into a star without altering it's density and generating just enough heat to turn it's moons into habitable planets.
Corrected entry: When Kirk, McCoy and Sulu beam aboard the Enterprise we switch to an outside shot and the bridge lights come on, a very bright white light that lights up all three windows, but when we go inside the bridge is very dark with only a few lights on. The main lights come on when they man their stations.
Correction: What is being described are not 3 windows, they are 3 lights for lighting up the ship's registry and name. There are no windows in a Constitution class' Bridge, original or refit.
Corrected entry: Mozart is asked to play in Handel's style. He waves dismissively, saying "I don't like him." In fact, Mozart greatly admired Handel, whose work had been a key part of his formative studies. (01:06:45)
Correction: As this film is not a biography, but a retelling of some of his life mixed with total fiction (including making Salieri an enemy where he was not), the choice is artistic, not a mistake.
Corrected entry: In the icy castle of Toth-Amon, after Conan shoves aside a wall for the party to proceed on, he enters the new passageway and exhales a single breath of smoke, then no smoke henceforth. In such a cold environment, shouldn't he be breathing smoke with every breath?
Correction: It's not smoke, but vapor from the humid, warm air exhaled from a person's breath. When he entered the passageway, it's possible that the colder air from outside coming into the warmer passageway allowed a breath to be seen, but if the air inside the passageway is drier in humidity than outside, breath would not be seen.
Corrected entry: During 'Big Bottom', not only are all three band members playing bass guitars, but Derek is playing double necked bass. This is a parody of Jimmy Page's double necked Gibson SG (which he used on Stairway To Heaven), with one neck having six strings with the other having 12. Both of Derek's bass necks have four strings, which defies the point of a double necked guitar.
Correction: Derek Smalls' double neck BC Rich Bich bass actually has an 8 string on the top and a 4 string on the bottom. The 8 string bass has 4 guitar strings in addition to the 4 bass strings (E, E one octave up, A, A one octave up, D, D one octave up etc). The effect is similar to a 12 string guitar but an octave lower. Listen to Pearl Jam's Jeremy (especially the beginning) or practically every Cheap Trick song, even though these were 12 string basses (E, E octave up, another E in unison, A, A octave up, another A in unison etc), the effect is almost the same. This neck has 4 tuners on the head stock and 4 tuners behind the bridge at the end of the body. The original BC Rich Bich was designed as a 10 string guitar (a twelve string with the low E and A octave strings removed) with the 4 additional tuners mounted on the end of the body. That is why it has it's unique cut to the body. The 2 necks on the bass give you 2 different sound and playing options although the guitar is heavy as hell.
Corrected entry: When the policemen get back into their car, the gremlin has let the fluid out of the brakes. The policemen drive off, but can't stop. Remarkably however they seem to have no trouble in the next scene, stopping the car and turning left.
Correction: The Gremlin tampers with the brakes when the car is stopped outside Mrs. Deagle's house, it then pulls away, it doesn't stop again.
Corrected entry: When Tommy is looking under the hood of the broken down car, it shows someone approaching and you see that they are wearing grey trousers. The person ends up being Rob, but Rob wears black trousers. (00:30:20)
Correction: The grey trousers belong to Jason, not Rob.
Corrected entry: Madison spends a significant amount of time in the north. She meets Allen in Cape Cod when he is a boy and rescues him there when he is a man. Also, her undersea city is within a short swimming distance of New York City. With all that exposure to northern climates it makes no sense that she has never seen ice, as evidenced by her comments at the skating rink.
Correction: Madison's view of ice would have been from below, not above, and her experience would have told her that ice is large irregularly shaped chunks of really cold stuff that simply disappear as they move south. The idea of humans gliding along the top of a smooth ice surface on metal blades would be totally new to her.
Correction: If this refers to the opening scene with the truck load of cigarettes, there is no such moment or error. The truck is stopped in the first shot of it, seen from far above as Axel steps out. The mirrors of the truck are never looked into by the camera before the chase is well underway.
