The Addams Family (1964)

Trivia: Although everybody knows all of the Addams Family members' names, none of them had their now-familiar names when Charles Addams created them for the New Yorker magazine. It was when the idea was pitched to the television executives that the names were created. Coincidentally, the Addams Family and The Munsters debuted the same week, and were cancelled the same week two years later.

The Addams Family (1964)

Trivia: Although generally considered a right hand, Thing occasionally appears as a left hand.

Question: If the lightsaber that Rey touches was Luke's and his father's before him, how did it get there? Luke's saber, given to him by Obi Wan, was lost in the fight between Luke and Vader on Cloud City when Vader cut Luke's sword hand off. It fell down with Luke's hand into the disposal tube, then out and down to Bespin's swampy surface.

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: When she is asked about the light saber being in her possession, Maz Kanata explains that it is a question to be answered at another time. Presumably this will be explained in a future episode.

Macrocosm - S3-E12

Continuity mistake: When Janeway and Neelix chase after the mysterious figure moving away from the down the dead end corridor, the wall is lit up, and the shadow moves across it showing direction of travel. After a quick cut, the wall they approach, and the corridor is noticeably darkened.

Revealing mistake: As Pee Wee rides in his little red car he stands up in it going by the breakfast bar in the house. As he sits after filling the plate, the camera shakes along with the car, showing the car and camera are mounted on the same rig.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: While travelling with the novelties salesman, a passing car's occupants yell about the bag of groceries on top of the car. As the camera faces the salesman's car, he puts up the window advertising the fake bag gag. As the camera faces out towards the passing car, the window goes up again. Later, a truck passes by, and the salesman does the same thing, but the message is now in Spanish, without the man stopping to change it. A moment later, the window advertisement (seen from inside) appears to be in English during the same scene.

Question: When Commander Morrow responds to Kirk's protests he says "Jim, the Enterprise is twenty years old. We feel her day's over." In ST: TMP, Decker said "This is an almost totally new Enterprise." If the Enterprise was, for all intents and purposes, totally rebuilt from the original, with more space, better engines, etc., how could it be twenty years old?

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: The Enterprise may have been extensively refurbished, but that does not mean it is entirely new. The ship is still 20 years old. Also, that was Decker's comment, and it may have been an over-exaggeration. Newer ships were being designed and built in the meantime, so even if the Enterprise was still mechanically sound, the technology may have advanced so much that it was not possible or it wasn't economically feasible to continually retrofit older vessels.

Suggested correction: This is a common film technique from old movies and shows. Just something that was done and accepted, and is not a mistake.

The Man Trap - S1-E2

Audio problem: As Kirk low crawls behind some boulder and grass, his communicator flips open and closed. If it was opened, the sound of the channel opening should have been heard, but wasn't. (00:36:35)

Family Guy (1999)

Continuity mistake: As Marion initiates the drinking challenge with Belloq, from the front she quickly tosses the drink back, tipping her head back then forward. From behind she repeats the motion.

Factual error: The truck that turns over and blows up after Indy shoots the driver is a Mercedes Benz L701. It began production in 1944, and this movie is set in 1936, so the truck is not period correct. Also, the alleys are too narrow to allow this truck to turn a corner.

Movie Nut

Revealing mistake: When the thug with the blade sticking out his back is standing still, there is some kind of squared device on his back under his clothes, presumably to retract the fake blade to end the sequence.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: After hitting one thug, Indy jumps out of the way of one trying to spear him, leading to the one behind Indy getting run through. As the guy gets run through, he is in front of a hanging string of fruit, with the stacked fruit to his right. After a cut scene to Indy and Marion running away, the run through thug is now facing the fruit stand, setting up the sight gag of the blade sticking out with two fruits stuck on it.

Movie Nut

Audio problem: In Marion's bar, she uses a burning log to knock one of the goons out. As his face changes, you hear "ow!" then he moans as he falls over. However, his mouth doesn't match any of the sounds.
