In Theory - S4-E25

Character mistake: After Data asks Jenna about a drink, he uses a contraction in his response, saying "Excellent choice. I'll join you." He's supposed to be incapable of contractions at this point.

Mail Call - S2-E23

Character mistake: When Frank is wanting to make a call to New York, Radar told him that New York is 16 hours ahead. Not quite right, as 5 p.m. in South Korea equates to 4 a.m. the same day, a difference of thirteen hours.

Dear Dad... Three - S2-E9

Character mistake: While talking to Condon, Hawkeye and Trapper relate the story of Dr. Charles Drew, the man responsible for the storage of blood and plasma, and how he died due to not being allowed in a "whites only" hospital after being involved in horrific car accident. The true story is that he was taken to a "poor whites" hospital. Despite being black, he was admitted, and though the doctors worked diligently, his injuries were too severe, and he died. His family sent a warm letter thanking the doctors for their efforts.

The Odyssey of Flight 33 - S2-E18

Character mistake: The real speed that was reported was 3,000 knots. At one point, the plane encountered a bright flash, and violent shaking. The Captain surmised that they broke the sound barrier. 3,000 knots equates to over 3,000mph. The sound barrier (Mach 1) is about 767mph, and the captain would know that.

Der Tag - S4-E17

Character mistake: The last bet comes to Frank after Mulcahy bets a dollar, and Potter raises fifty cents, making it a dollar fifty. Frank makes it another five dollars, making it six dollars fifty cents. Mulcahy says "Oh dear, it's five fifty to me." He should have said six fifty.

Character mistake: At the trial, the witness said that "With the first shot, we lost our gravitational field. I found myself weightless, and unable to function." However, the first shot caused the ship to start listing to port. It was the second shot that caused the gravitational failure.

Suggested correction: People misremember events all the time, especially if the events are unexpected and chaotic. At best a character mistake.

I called it a character mistake.

He could also simply be lying in order to explain why he did not do whatever he should have after the 1st shot, since he was an easy target for the intruders and did not die in battle, which would have been honorable. Klingons are not the most honest of people.

It's also important to remember this was a "show" trial, where many things were manipulated to make Kirk and McCoy look guilty. Everything the Klingon witnesses say is suspect.

That I will agree with.

Character mistake: As the Trans Am goes through the sand area, its sides are caked up with splattered sand. A moment later, and as it stops at the bar, it's clean.

Suggested correction: It is true that in later seasons he is unable to use contractions. However, since that characteristic was not introduced in the first season, this is not a mistake. His behavior is consistent with the character's behavior throughout the first season.

It's still a possible mistake, even if it wasn't part of season 1 scripting. Just because we only learn later that Data doesn't use contractions, doesn't make this mistake invalid. We learn Data was specifically constructed that way and hadn't been able to use contraction since being created, which means all of season 1 he shouldn't be using contractions. Although it would probably be best to submit it as a mistake in season 2 when it's mentioned that it contradicts what was established.

Incorrect. It would be a mistake if he used a contraction after the trait was added to his character, but the mistake can't be retroactive as it wasn't a mistake for him to use it at that point in the show.

Suggested correction: This happens a lot. The number on the door is not the number of the Eagle, it's the number of the command module. The super structure and drive systems are Eagle One. Even then, there has been several Eagle Ones destroyed or lost. Eagle One is assigned its designation by the head of Recon, Alan Carter.

Hawkeye Get Your Gun - S5-E10

Character mistake: As Potter and Hawkeye pull up to the MP checkpoint, Potter and the MP exchange salutes. As per Army regulations, no salutes are given under battle conditions. The reason is that if the superior officer, in this case Colonel Potter, returns the salute, he can be a target for snipers.

Bad Day in Berlin - S4-E11

Character mistake: After Le Beau is questioned, Schultz is told to take him back to his cell. Schultz calls "About face! Forward march!" The "about face" is wrong. The door that Le Beau goes out is on his right, therefore the command should have been "right face."

Character mistake: After the things let the dog out, Larry calls Joan and tells her that the kids let him out, and he will get him (the dog). Later, when he's downtown with the dog, he has the line about "when Joan finds out you've escaped, Conrad's out and I'm in". Where is the surprise? He already called her, so she knows!
