Weekend at Burnsie's - S13-E16

Question: Does any one know what the song is called in the episode "Weekend at Burnsies?" It's the episode with Homer on marijuana, and the song I'm referring to is the 70's sounding one, heard while he's shaving and rainbows come out of his beard.

Answer: It's "Incense and Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock - 1967.

Question: There is a scene partway through the movie when Marianne is playing and singing, the first time Colonel Brandon sees her. What song is she singing, and where can I find music for it?

Answer: The lyrics come from a poem called "Weep You No More, Sad Fountains" - it was set to music specifically for the film by Patrick Doyle. There is sheet music available for this piece here: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/selections-from-sense-and-sensibility-sheet-music/2923004. As far as I know, you have to buy both 'The Dreame' and 'Weep You No More Sad Fountains', but they are both here.

Question: Does anyone know the story behind the "Creepy Thin Man?" Like why he likes to pull hair and smell it? Anything that helps me understand his character is appreciated.

Answer: This character gets a backstory in the sequel (Charlie's Angels Full Throttle). Supposedly he was a runaway from a circus, who found refuge at an orphanage. He didn't much like haircuts when he was little.

Question: Does anybody know why in fact there is a large monster swimming around in the death star's trash compactor? Makes the scene more exciting, yes, but its existence on the space station just seems out of place.

Answer: The creature, a dianoga, stowed into the trash compactor and built a lair as it was being built and installed on the Death Star. Dianogas love habitats like swamps or sewers and are found to commonly inhabit such places.

Darius Angel

The main question is why was it on a space station? I can't imagine that there have been other people thrown in the trash compactor so why would it be there.

It would not surprise me at all if someone had written an entire book explaining how the creature got there.

Question: Why did they not base the second film on the princess diaries books?

Answer: My guess is because Mia and Michael didn't actually start dating until the third Princess Diaries book. The second and third books were all about Mia trying to get Michael to go out with her, and since they went out at the end of the first movie, they couldn't base the second movie on the second book.

Question: If all the villains have known the Rangers true identities, why didn't they just reveal them to the public? Zordon stated in the first episode they would lose their powers if their identity was revealed. It couldn't of been an "honour" thing, as they've all shown they are willing to use cheap tactics to get ahead.

Answer: Several people have found out their identities. Tommy's brother, one girl's (can't remember which one) father, etc. I Zordon just meant that they can't go around telling everyone. It would be like bragging, and he would take their powers away.

Question: What is the point/moral of this film. To me it was just a random funny movie but I was wondering if there was a point.

Answer: The movie's point is that no matter who you are, you can still be a winner. The movie was inspired by the short film "Peluca" that was also made by Jared Hess in 2003.

Question: How would you get on the roof of a moving subway? We don't see it in the movie (Jack looks up and starts to climb - cut - Jack is on the roof.... Howard cries 'I'm coming for you Jack and runs - cut - Howard is behind Jack on the roof. after the fight when Howard 'lost his head' - cut - Jack is inside the subway again...).

Answer: Ventilation shafts or roof panels.

Answer: If she was a mole inside CTU, why couldn't she have been a mole inside the Drazens?

Question: What's the name of the theme in the trailer? I seem to have heard it somewhere.

Answer: It's taken from the soundtrack of Children of Dune.

Question: Do the hats the girls wear symbolise anything? Do the colour and numbers show different years or houses?

Answer: The colour change every year and the number is the year they finish (Joan's hat says 54 and their last year is 1954 as Nancy says around new year.)

Question: What were the Spanish lyrics to the song Frida was singing in the bar just before she started the brawl, and is that the literal translation that is on the subtitles? I know what the movie says the translation is, but I can't get the words the same when I try to translate back into Spanish.

Answer: The Song Frida is singing is one of Diego´s most favourite songs, La Bruja (On the soundtrack performed by Lila Downs). http://www.musicbrother.com/index.php?page=song&id=167156 (german page, but spanish lyrics).

Question: What is the song being played when Tori Spelling is in her room getting ready for a romantic night with the ghost (It's a deleted scene, I think, but its the scene where she is waxing and the song I want to know is the one being played on the radio).

Answer: I want to know this so badly as well and can't find it. The Graduation Song is not right.

Answer: I'm looking for that song too. You'd think that even though it was a deleted scene, the song credit would have been featured in the credits. But, I guess not. It sounded kind of like Carmen Electra, and that would kinda make sense with her being the "Drew" (first victim) in this franchise. But still, I can't locate it. But Carmen Electra may surprise you with her singing career. She raps fast (in some tracks), has a good voice, and can dance to back it up. Still, I'm not sure who sings, nor what that track is officially called. But I'd like to hunt it down. Any info or suggestions?

Answer: Vitamin C - The Graduation Song.

Question: What is the song played around the end of the main trailer? It sounds a lot like the theme from Brazil if that helps.

Answer: It IS from Brazil. The song is called Brazil, performed by Geoff Muldaur.

Answer: The footage of Scorpina came from Zyuranger, the Sentai series of 1992. Power Rangers had since moved on to Dairanger, the 1993 series. New footage was created (with a new actress) for "Goldar's Vice-Versa". Footage from Zyuranger (especially Zord battles) could not be meshed with Dairanger footage with any degree of accuracy, and although the producers could have brought Scorpina back for more episodes, they decided not to.

Question: Was the song "Perfect Day" written for this film, or did it exist previously?

Moose

Chosen answer: "Perfect Day" was originally on Lou Reed's album "Transformer" released in 1972.

Question: A follow-up from a previous question: OK, Best Costume is an Oscar category. However, would the "Costume Designer" for Shrek 2 be eligible to win - given that they didn't design any real costumes, just parts of the animated 3D models?

Moose

Chosen answer: Probably not. As stated in the rules (see below), there must be a costume designer who is recognized as such by other costume designers. The Shrek artists are not likely to be considered costume designers. From the official Oscar rules at www.oscar.org: "To be eligible for the Costume Design Award, the costumes for the picture must have been conceived by a costume designer. It is the intention of this rule to recognize the designing of costumes for their special use in motion pictures. Eligibility shall be determined by the costume designer members of the Art Directors Branch present at a meeting called specifically for that purpose prior to the mailing of nominations ballots."

Myridon

Chosen answer: Its a game called three-penny-scat. I'm not 100% on the rules, but I think you get three cards, take the value of them (Royalty =10) and whoever gets closest to thirty wins. According to the book, it's one of the most boring games invented but "it was too hot to think about anything more complicated".

SexyIrishLeprechaun

Answer: The goal is to get two point cards and an ace, all of the same suit to make 31.That's when you can call "Scat" and win the hand. The player with the lowest value loses the hand.

Question: How is David able to make Michael see the maggots and worms in the Chinese food, considering Michael hasn't yet drunk his blood at this point?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Many legends give the vampire certain rather hypnotic abilities - this is presumably along the same lines.

Tailkinker

Answer: I always assumed it was because the joint they passed was dusted.

Question: Near the end of the film, when Sarah dies, where did all the blood come from? Did she hit her head when she fell after the demon was driven out? If so, why did it take so long to start gushing?

wizard_of_gore

Chosen answer: Yes. It may have taken so long because the blood was probably pooling at the back of her head, which caused her to pass out, then finally built up enough pressure to gush out of the cut or fracture at the back of her head.
