Question: I've seen this movie over 100 times and I know every single word, but when I watched it a few days ago on Netflix I noticed straight away that the talking sounded completely different and some words where changed, in the cold turkey scene Renton was supposed to say "i don't feel the sickness yet but it's in the POST, that's for sure", but on the Netflix version he says "I don't feel the sickness yet but its in the MAIL, that's for sure", why was this changed and did all the actors have to re-do the whole film in audio?
Chosen answer: I can only assume it would have been done for the benefit of international audiences. To Brits, 'post' is commonly used as a noun describing any item received that was posted in the mail system, rather than just as a verb to describe the act of sending something in the mail. Typical small changes of word meanings that makes perfect sense to someone in Britain may easily confuse a viewer from another country.
Is this for real they don't think people are smart enough to know the post is the mail? Like we have post offices it's not like it's so far out there we couldn't figure it out my god.
Bear in mind "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was retitled entirely to "Sorcerer's Stone" in the USA. Movie studios are desperate to avoid audiences being confused, whether that's warranted or not.
Question: What exactly happened to Vicki Vale between movies? She's mentioned a couple times in this one, but it's never said what happened.
Chosen answer: The same thing that happens to all the women in Bruce Wayne's life who learn his secret: She eventually realized that she would always be second to Batman, and never know if he'd make it home each night, so she left.
Answer: They broke up. At one point in the movie, Bruce tells Selina that he had a girlfriend (Vicki), but, and I quote, "It didn't work out."
Question: Who is Max Shreck from the comics, or is he even from the Batman comics?
Chosen answer: Shreck was a character created for the movie. The part was originally intended to be Harvey Dent, and the explosion at the end would scar him, paving the way for Two Face in a third movie, but the filmmakers opted for an original character instead. The name comes from a German actor who played Count Orlok in "Nosferatu".
Question: Why must Penguin be in cold to survive?
Chosen answer: He doesn't need to be in cold to survive. He just prefers it since he's lived in the cold his entire life.
Question: Why is Penguin coughing up green stuff before he dies? And is that his blood?
Answer: It is poison from Shrek's factory.
Chosen answer: It is suppose to be his blood.
Question: Which episode is it that they're going to be shutting down 3 fire stations, and at the end, they decided to turn #5 into a museum?
Answer: Season 8.
Question: After she falls, what exactly makes Selyna Kyle go nuts? And what is she trying to do to her apartment?
Answer: The film keeps it ambiguous. There are two ways to look at it. Scenario A- She literally died and is brought back to life by the alley-cats somehow, adapting some of their traits. Or... Scenario B- The trauma of falling and sustaining a head-injury, along with her paranoia after Schreck tried to kill her, has driven her mad, and she uses her connection with cats to build a new persona. (Which is supported by the fact that all the things she claims "kills" her with each of her "nine lives" wouldn't actually have killed her. Ex. Her one fall is broken by the kitty-litter truck. Max doesn't hit her in any vital organs when he shoots her. Etc.) Her destroying her apartment is her lashing out at all the things she used to hold dear- her vision of a normal life, etc. It's symbolic of her purging the past and embracing the future. (Plus, oftentimes when people throw fits, they'll smash stuff up).
Chosen answer: She just died, and came back to life. The shock drove her mad. She really isn't doing anything but destroying it.
Question: If Reverse Flash can't kill Barry in an unaltered time line because he will mess up his own past, then why is he trying to kill him in the beginning of the movie before the Flashpoint change? He traps Flash in the Flash museum and places explosives on him with intent to kill.
Chosen answer: Reverse Flash knows he'll be wiped out of existence, but he doesn't care. He's so obsessed with killing Flash in a satisfying way that he's willing to sacrifice his own life to do it. That's why he stays completely calm when the Flash moves the charge to his shoulder and tells him he'll die too. This is further evidenced by the fact that he didn't care that Aquaman's WMD would kill him along with everyone else.
Which still makes no sense... because then why doesn't he just go back in time and kill him?
Make Love, Not Warcraft - S10-E8
Question: What is the song playing when the boys are slaying the boars in the World Of Warcraft forest?
Chosen answer: "Live to Win" by Paul Stanley.
Question: When Mayor West says his aides have AIDS, who is the guy who then shouts "Not OK"? Also, is there a joke behind this man?
Chosen answer: It is Robert Loggia, and no secret joke. Just a random moment with a guest.
Question: Is this supposed to be a sequel or a reboot? It takes place as if it's a sequel, kinda like the Hulk movies, but there are so many changes and differences it's like a reboot... like the Hulk movies. So sequel or reboot?
Chosen answer: This is a sequel. The only major difference from the first one is the Devil's human appearance.
Question: Reverse Flash stabs Flash in the leg with a broken rebar. So why doesn't the wound heal quickly? Earlier in the film, Barry gets third degree burns all over his body, but they heal in seconds when he gets his Flash powers back.
Chosen answer: Reverse Flash is absorbing the speed force from Flash, dampening his powers. Including his high speed healing.
Question: General Lane shows Hal Jordan the alien, Abin Sur, that Green Lantern in a water preservation chamber. General Lane talks about how the ring launched off in space away. Yet Abin Sur is still in his green lantern uniform. The uniforms are generated by the rings, so when it flew away, wouldn't Abin Sur's uniform vanish? Especially over the course of 8 years as General Lane claims?
Chosen answer: It really depends on the writer. In many stories the suit vanishes as soon as the ring is drained of energy, in other cases, where a character dies, the suit remains on the character. This could be interpreted as a way to identify the body as a member of the Green Lantern Corps. But that is just one theory among the comic community.
Question: After Barry is healed of his wounds, Batman gives him the Reverse Flash suit. Barry sighs and then begins rapidly vibrating and begins glowing. The glowing stops and he is suddenly wearing the suit that is now the colors of his suit, not Reverse Flash. How did he do that?
Chosen answer: In the comic, Barry goes on to explain that he could vibrate the suit at its microscopic level, changing the color of the molecules, but decides it would be faster to make a new one. Here they decided to show off the change.
Question: Out of pure shock and a possible psychotic break, in the flashback of Bruce being murdered, his mother wipes his blood on her face and begins smiling in an insane fashion that greatly resembles the Joker. Is this supposed to signify that in this timeline, Mrs. Wayne becomes the Joker?
Chosen answer: Yes. In the comic this is based on, Mrs. Wayne becomes the Joker due to Bruce's death. Except in the comics she scars her face months after his death, after Thomas says he wants her to smile again.
Question: The name of Deathstroke's ship is The Ravager. Is this a reference to anything?
Chosen answer: In the original universe Deathstroke's daughter goes by the name Ravager.
Question: In the Batcave, there is a cork board with a full deck of playing cards pinned up on it, with the Joker card in the very center. Is this supposed to represent minions of the Joker that Batman has taken down? Or what is this?
Chosen answer: Quite possibly. The Joker is Thomas Wayne's only major villain in the comics.
Answer: In Flashpoint when Martha Wayne witnessed the death of Bruce it drove her crazy and she becomes the Joker, the joker card is at the center of the board kind of as a reminder to Thomas how messed up things can be.
Question: Looking at a gun in a case, and then a picture of the Wayne family, Barry asks "What happened to you, Bruce? You were the James Bond of Superheroes." He then follows up by saying, "What turned you into the Unabomber?" What is a Unabomber?
Chosen answer: The Unabomber was a man named Ted Kaczynski who planted and mailed bombs between 1978 and 1995 which killed 3 people and wounded 23. Basically Barry is calling this version of Batman a psychopath.
