Question: My question is related to the end of the movie after Jack has escaped. Governor Swann says "Perhaps on the rare occasion that the right course demands an act of piracy; piracy itself can be the right course." What does he mean? Is he referring to something else in the movie?

Answer: He is saying that sometimes you have to break the law to do good things. By this he acknowledges that pirates can be decent people as well, and that this can earn them a second chance. What he is specifically referencing is the crimes Jack and Will committed to rescue Elizabeth and destroy Barbossa.

Question: What exactly is the "water" that Mama Fratelli serves the Goonies?

Answer: It really is water, but since the restaurant hasn't been in operation for some time, residue and grime have built up in the pipes, causing the water to be discolored.

Answer: In the comics, Krypto is a dog from Krypton who was used as the passenger in a test launch by Jor-El, Superman's father, before he launched the actual rocket taking his infant son to Earth. Krypto's capsule was involved in a mishap, sending it out of Kryptonian orbit and eventually found its way to Earth where he linked up with the young Clark Kent. Like any native of Krypton, Krypto has superpowers on Earth. In Smallville, the dog is a standard Earth dog who has been experimentally injected with kryptonite, giving him super-strength for a limited period of time, who escapes and links up with Clark (who suggests the name Krypto, ostensibly because of the dog's cryptic origins). It doesn't take too long for the dog's strength to fade, and the Kents decide to keep him, although they ultimately name him Shelby, after a dog that Martha Kent had in childhood.

Question: What song was playing when Peter was getting ready to go see Mary Jane's play?

Answer: "Hold On" by Jet. It's on the soundtrack.

Question: I've always wanted to know what Kris and the little Dutch girl were saying to each other.

Answer: Not sure of the dialog but here is the Christmas Carol they sing, the lyrics are: Sinterklaas kapoentje, gooi wat in mijn schoentje, gooi wat in mijn laarsje, dank u Sinterklaasje. The translation is: Sinterklaas good man, throw something in my shoe, throw something in my boot, thank you Sinterklaas. Actually not a Christmas carol but a song for another holiday earlier in December.

JustMeintheUK

Answer: He grew them himself, and used the trees around Orthanc as fuel in the process. In addition, he probably recruited Orcs from the Misty Mountains, in the same way that you can see him recruiting the Wild Men from Dunland.

Question: On IMDB's trivia for this movie, it says that whenever a character's eyes blink, they never blink together, but one at a time. Is this true? If so, why would they do this?

Answer: If you'd ever had one of those dolls that when you lay it down the eyes close, you would know that they never close at the same time. One always seems to stick a little.

Question: Whose house does Charlie take Chong and Roy to after he meets them at Buckingham Palace?

Answer: It is never really mentioned, but we can assume it is the home of some noble or "higher class" person, from all of the elaborate things.

Question: What's having with the DVD releases of this film and the original? I've heard numerous reports that there are going to be special editions of both DVD's released soon, so I'm loathe to buy the feature-light ones that are out at the moment, but so far nothing has been announced. Also, is there going to be a box set released? Lastly, is the version that Tarantino screened at a recent film festival (both volumes edited together into one movie) ever going to be released?

Answer: I recently heard talk on a reliable website that a Kill Bill Special edition was going to be released later this year and that an announcement should be made soon but nothing more definite than that. The main reason for the long delay was that Tarantino wanted to re-edit the two films together to make the one film (as you mentioned) and then have it re-released. As for what the special edition will contain or even if it will be released as one film is anyone's guess at this point.

Lummie

Answer: Update: As of early 2019, the extended version of the film (Known as "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair") has not been officially released on DVD or Blu-Ray, but it has been screened at several film festivals. Hopefully it'll eventually be released on home media.

Question: Why is the very first scene, before the audience is introduced to any of the four main characters, included? If it was just to show the creepy guys Cassie believes are chasing her, why not just keep it at the gothic rave?

Answer: I believe it's both a red herring (Oh, another slasher teen horror) and an attempt at making it more believeable that there are these killers chasing Cassie throughout her 'dream'.

Question: In the trivia section, it says, "Look at the pictures the TV guy takes out of the filing cabinet", but it doesn't say what's there. I don't have the video, could someone please fill me in?

Answer: It is referring to a moment during the song "Worthless" toward the end of the movie, right before the Red Car sings. The photos he takes out have pictures of what looks like some exotic dancers on them.

Piemanmoo

Question: When we first meet Jody with all her piercings, she tells Vincent her tongue piercing helps "fellatio". what does this mean, or do I really want to know?

Answer: Fellatio is an oral sexual act. A quick search in Google will give you many examples.

Jane Doe

Question: I understand that Jean Grey perishing to turn into Phoenix was part of the storyline, but there had to be another way to stop the oncoming water. Couldn't Bobby (Iceman) have tried to freeze the water? Or maybe that and a combination of Storm turning the weather very, very cold would've turned it into ice?

Answer: As mentioned elsewhere, Iceman is still in training and doesn't have enough control over his powers to turn the entire flood of water into motionless ice within the short time frame. Storm might have been able to lower the temperature, but dropping it enough to instantly freeze such a volume of water probably would have killed them all (we know from Cerebro 2 that she can't insulate people from the effects of her powers). It's just too much water too fast for these to be possible.

Phoenix

Question: When Paris is with Helen at Sparta, there are no tattoos on his body. However, in real life, Orlando Bloom has several tattoos on his body, including one on his left elbow. How is this trick of deleting tattoos performed?

Answer: CGI or makeup.

Grumpy Scot

Question: Why does Elektra / did Elektra have OCD? I mean, how did that contribute to the story? Also, does Abby have OCD as well, from the scene near the beginning where Elektra asks Abby if she was counting?

Answer: They both have OCD because because people with OCD are more likely to be a prodigy, Mozart most likely had it.

Question: Why did Mordor attack Middle Earth at this specific time? .Why did the battles and fighting all start at a certain time in middle earth. Since their world has been going on for thousands of years you'd think that something specific happened to make them fight.

Answer: Sauron has been probing for weaknesses for hundreds of years. But Denethor's emotional unbalance, the addition of Saruman as an ally, the distraction of Theoden of Rohan, and the increase in the number of Mordor orcs seemed to be a winning combination.

scwilliam

Question: How many people were on the bus throughout the movie (counting Jack, Annie, Sam, & Helen)?

Answer: There appears to be 20. On IMDb, some have character names and others are listed as "bus passenger".

Macalou

Question: I'm really bad at remembering faces - was just wondering if the guy who Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon meet, and eat with - and play the weird phrases game, is also Le Marque - so technically, did CZJ met her father unofficially, (before Pitt introduces him) when she was interrogating him?

Answer: Le Marque and Matsui (the weird phrase guy) are played by Albert Finney and Robbie Coltrane, respectively (so no, she never met him before).

Xofer

Question: What does the Saxon who rallies the troops actually yell? He yells it twice: once, after Cerdic meets with Arthur in front of the wall and gives the order to "prepare the men for battle", and then a second time when Cerdic gives the signal after the only survivor of the first "wave" comes back through the wall. (And I don't mean his cry of "battle formation.").

Answer: I don't think it's supposed to be German. Probably Old Saxon. Could be something like "slahten fiand" - slaughter enemy.

Answer: He yells 'Schlachtet den feind!' (In very, very bad "German") - 'slaughter the enemy!'. And his army seems to yell: "Schlachtung! Schlachtung! Schlachtung..." - "Slaughter! Slaughter! Slaughter..."

Question: Why on earth does Marion take her bra off before putting on the white dress given to her by Belloc?

Answer: She takes off her bra because the dress has a very low back.

Answer: She was trying to "seduce" Belloc and get him drunk so she could escape. What better way to take a man's attention off your real plans, than to wear a white dress with no bra on.

Mark English

Answer: Strapless and backless dresses usually have a bra-like support constructed within it, and the wearer does not need to wear an additional foundation garment. Otherwise, the dress would not fit properly and would look odd, particularly a backless one.
