Answer: The adverts showed Rowan Atkinson as a bungling secret agent, similar to Johnny English, who would mess up various assignments and need to make use of Barclaycard features to bail himself out (eg, being in a foreign country without local currency, breaking expensive items that were Barclaycard insured, etc.)

Question: Can someone please explain how the apes ended up taking over present-day Earth since the future apes never got hold of the time machine? I can't find anyone who can make heads or tails of it.

Krista

Chosen answer: Tim Burton has been quoted MANY times as saying it isn't supposed to make sense. Best guess is Leo travelled not just into the future, but into another dimension as well. Ironically, this ending is far more true to Peirre Boulle's original ending than the first Apes movie.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: I have, if not an answer, then a sharpening of the question. A number of fanboys have suggested Thade retrieved Leo's pod from the bottom of the lake, then used it to travel into the MagnaStorm, thereby reaching Earth centuries before Leo's arrival, and inciting Earth Apes to rebel. The problem with This explanation is, once you get past how helpless the Apes are in water, How did Thade, a person who comes from a society without even gunpowder level technology, Repair A Spaceship?! Nevermind learn to use it?!?!?.

Answer: It would probably be breaking copyright (and rather long) to post them here, but here's a link to the author's website where they are listed: http://www.wbrucecameron.com/columns/8rules.htm.

Question: Han Solo is famous for his Kessel Run, but can anyone explain to me what it is?

Answer: Near the planet of Kessel (the prison planet), there is a cluster of black holes (called the Maw). Smugglers will skirt by the black holes as an escape route, this route is called the Kessel Run. For further details (including an explination of parsecs), view this page: http://www.starwars.com/community/askjc/jocasta/askjc20020221.html.

Bruce Minnick

If you watch the movie, Solo, you will see the Kessel run, as it is an important moment in the film.

Question: Does anyone know how long the war with the machines has actually been going on or what year it actually is in the real world?

Answer: I don't think anybody knows - Morpheus says in the first film that the year is not 1999 as Neo thinks, but closer to 2199, but they don't know for sure. They just know the war started 'early in the 21st century' so presumably anywhere between 2000-2025.

Question: How come Becca (Katie's friend) knew how many days were left to Rachel's death?

Answer: People who have seen Samara are infected by her - one of the side effects is that she can recognise people who are cursed, and how long they have left.

Question: On the PAL version (just released), how do you get to the Audio Commentary?

Answer: Some copies of the DVD have been accidentally released without an Audio Commentary. If you can't find it on yours, it's likely you've bought one of the defective copies. You're best off returning into to the store you bought it from and exchanging it, or writing to the distributors themselves and getting it replaced.

Answer: It was the license plate of the killer's car. GCE-15P.

Question: How did they do the deserted London scenes? I mean, it is practically impossible to do, right? Are they real shots of London, or is it a set or was it done somehow different?

Hamster

Chosen answer: According to the making of documentary, they cleared relatively small portions of London early in the morning (with the help of the Police of course) and filmed the shots using a digital camera, which is incredibly easy and fast to set up, meaning they could go in and do a take in a remarkably short time. So it is the real London (as well as the motorway scenes), but only small portions at a time are deserted.

Question: The actress who played Divatox changed midway through the series, from Carol Hoyt to Hilliary Ann Duffy (Or something similar to that). Why the change?

Answer: Scheduling problems with Hilary Shepard Turner meant that she was unable to reprise her role as Divatox from "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie". Carol Hoyt was brought in as a replacement until the major cast change mid-season, when Hilary returned. Carol still played Dimitria, the Rangers' mentor.

Dinsdale - S2-E1

Question: In the late part of the show, the reporter is interviewing the Piranha brothers' former schoolmaster, but their conversation is deliberately inaudible. Can any lip readers out there tell what they're saying, presumably improvised dialogue?

Answer: Other than the teacher asking "I'm sorry?" at one point, it's complete gibberish.

Question: Does anybody know anything about the song that Ivy sings to her sister? The lyrics, who wrote it, or anything?

Answer: This is an old lullaby, called "Baby, Sleep." Submitted for publication by Jennie Joy in 'Golden Hours: A Magazine for Boys and Girls, Volume 9 (January 1877). Full lyrics: Baby, sleep, softly sleep, 'Neath the shadows cool and deep; Gently rest, sweetly rest, In the cradle nest: Homeward hies the drowsy bee, And the cricket dreamily Chirps a tune to the moon Smiling down on thee. Baby, dream, sleep and dream; Lilies slumber on the stream; Blossoms fair scent the air, Nodding every-where; All the winds are hushed and still In their caverns 'neath the hill; And the day bears away Noise of shop and mill. Baby, sleep, gently sleep, Life is long and love is deep; Time there'll be, sweet, for thee All the world to see- Time to look about and know How the shadows come and go, How the breeze stirs the trees, How the blossoms grow. Baby, rest, softly rest, Pillowed in thy cradle nest; Bird and bee, flower and tree, Waft sweet dreams on thee; Soon the little stars will creep To their places, and will keep Vigils bright through the night, O'er they slumbers deep.

Solitudes - S1-E18

Question: Since the DHD on the Antarctica gate would still have to have the symbol for Earth as the point of origin, why couldn't they just take that DHD and attach it to the gate in SGC it would make dialing out faster and they could beat a Goa'uld attack by dialing out faster than the Goa'uld could dial in.

Answer: In "48 Hours", it was revealed that the Antarctic gate stopped working shortly after it was discovered. As one of the oldest DHDs in the galaxy, it simply ran out of power. Also note that the Antarctic gate and the Giza gate have different symbols for their points of origin, so their DHDs might not have been interchangable, anyway.

Good Times With Weapons - S8-E1

Question: In the middle there's a rather humorous song in what's supposed to sound like Japanese. Does it have a literal translation? I know that Trey Parker went to the University of Colorado with a double major in Music and Japanese, so it wouldn't surprise me if the entire song was just a long, dirty, sentence since he was perfectly capable of doing it. Anyone know?

Answer: According to tvtome.com the translation is: You have an awesome penis, I see the hair on your balls, Sounds like a baby monkey, No, no it's ninjas, "hey Hey Let's Go!" we fight, It's really important to "protect my balls", It's my bad "so let's fighting", Let's fighting Love... This song is dumb, it makes no sense, The English is bad, but it's ok, we do it all the time, "hey Hey Let's Go!" we fight.

Question: What is the music in the trailer for the film called?

Answer: It was taken from various sources, most notably the films Backdraft and Drop Zone (music by Hans Zimmer) and Danny Elfman's score for Planet of the Apes. There's also a piece of music used called "Voices of War" by X-Ray Dog.

Question: In the Ultimate Edition DVD, after the T-1000 has 'regrouped' after the liquid nitrogen death, his hands and feet take on the pattern of whatever he touches, for example to yellow and black stripes on the rail or the floor pattern. Why does happen and why was it left out of the movie? It's actually the reason John recognises the fake Sarah as an illusion.

Answer: It's one of several things that were cut from the original theatrical release for time reasons; James Cameron likes longer movies than studios like to release. The constant morphing indicates that whatever computer mechanism controls the T-1000 has been damaged: it is no longer able to choose what it copies but copies everything it samples to some extent. From a critic's point of view, this isn't necessary for John to recognize his mother because it's more interesting and intuitive if he "just knows".

Phoenix

Question: Yoda always makes a huge deal about Anakin's age in Episode 2, being too old to start training as a Jedi. Yet in Episode 5, he barely hesitates before training Luke, a full grown man. We are made to think that even a young boy is a lost cause, so wouldn't a man be impossible to train? Unlike Anakin, Luke had never displayed any Force characteristics (except for piloting in the Battle of Yavin).

Answer: In Episode 1, he's clearly reluctant to train Anakin at all, obviously sensing something that troubles him. The age issue may have been something of a smokescreen, but it is clear that Jedi training starts at a very early age - Anakin is well past that age already. With training Luke in Episode 5, what other choice does Yoda have? If the Emperor and Vader are to be brought down, it's pretty much Luke, Leia (who obviously has the same age issues) or nobody.

Question: Why was the choice made to create an original story rather than base the movie directly on the game? While there are game references and little details, much of the story was original material. Almost everyone I know is very angry that the games were disregarded so much.

Answer: It was original for two reasons. 1) there are so many games - RE, RE2, RE: Nemesis, RE 0, RE Code Veronica - that it would be impossible to pick one game to base the movie on that all the players of the series would approve of. Theoretically, making it original prevented gamers from complaining that they picked a bad storyline. The constant references to the different games were supposed to placate your friends. 2) the director naturally wants to add some of his own style to the movie, not just copy what was already done in a game.

Phoenix

Question: Before Admiral Greer shows up to tell Jack about Sean Miller's escape, where were the Ryans planning to go?

Answer: The movie never clearly says. It was some event that required tickets, as the mom runs back into the house to get them. And it was something Sally really wanted to go to, but it is never clear what the event was.
