Question: This might possibly a mistake. When the thief was chased by the police, they were right behind him. He entered a building and suddenly they weren't anymore. Only several minutes later they appeared. So my question is. What happened here?

Answer: The police were likely setting up a perimeter and waiting for backup before sending officers in to make sure he didn't escape. Hence, later you see police boats and whatnot.

Answer: Sticky Rice (the thief) lost the pursuing officers when he ran into the warehouse and hid there; he was subsequently tracked down by Spider-Man who captured him for the police.

Question: When the Enterprise recovers Chekov and Captain Terrell, they just accept Chekov's and Terrell's false explanation, even though McCoy is standing right there with a medical tricorder. Why didn't McCoy's medical tricorder pick up the Ceti eels lodged in the brains of Chekov and Captain Terrell?

Charles Austin Miller

Answer: It's unknown. The tricorder may not have been programmed at the moment to detect any parasites.

Answer: The eels bond with the host brain and are virtually undetectable until the host dies or they are found for some reason.

Question: How come in Twilight James' venom makes Bella scream and writhe in pain but in the last films she doesn't react to Edwards venom at all. I know they said in Breaking Dawn Part 2 it was because she has the shield ability, but wouldn't is also work the same with James' bite in the first film?

Shayleighxo

Answer: This is better explained in the books. Unlike the rest of the Cullens, Bella's transformation was planned in advance, so she was expecting the pain. When James bit her, she had no idea that the venom would burn like it did and that was her natural reaction. Also in the books, the morphine that Carlisle gave Bella during the transformation more or less made her unable to scream or even move. As the morphine wore off, she knew she would be able to move, but managed to stay completely still even though she was in intense pain. The reason she managed not to make a sound was out of love for Edward, because she was worried her screams would torment him and make him regret ever changing her.

Answer: A couple of reasons. When Edward first started biting Bella to inject his venom, she was all but clinically dead. Later, while she's transforming into a vampire, Carlisle tells Edward that she's not in any pain because he is treating her with morphine.

Question: How does Harry grab/or manipulate anything when using the invisibility cloak in the presence of people without exposing himself from behind the cloak? It's only so big but you never see anything.

Friender Bender - S4-E4

Question: Carrie tells Doug that she was "pretty wrong" about whether they could make a case of "chain of causation" against Deacon. Can someone explain why they are not able to make the case?

Question: If Neville knew that the Dark-seekers couldn't get through UV light, how come he didn't rig his home up with UV lights in case of an emergency, or his car for that matter?

Answer: It's likely a question of availability. We see he did in fact rig lights to use as a last resort. We also see that he spends most of his time searching for supplies in the city, so he was likely using whatever he had available.

Question: What does Jane Powell say when they arrive at the barn raising after she hugs the girls, she brought what?

Answer: She says, "I've brought stuff for the collation pies and such"

Answer: Just think about your own life, I am sure you do not act the same with your siblings or close friends as you do with a stranger (because that is what the Buchmans essentially are to Ursula). In Mad About You, she is an extremely bad waitress and in Friends she is a jerk - those are not mutually exclusive character traits. This can also be seen in the Friends episode when Jamie and Fran are in Central Perk and run into Phoebe who answers their questions in an aloof manner and they assume it's Ursula. Is Phoebe always aloof? No. But she was to strangers asking her weird questions. Also, Ursula has been aloof with Phoebe as well (like in the one where they all turn 30 or the one where the grandmother passes away, etc).

Answer: The writers have the freedom develop the character to suit the different shows' plots. They wanted to create a certain dynamic between Phoebe and Ursula that was rather contentious and strained because it made for more tension and conflict and showcased the differences that kept the sisters estranged.

Question: If the elders could heal, why didn't they ever come and heal the witches or Leo (and Paige) when they were shot by dark lighters?

Answer: Elders rarely came to earth as they didn't want to leave were they were protected (danger for 1 endangers them all) and once shot a White-lighter couldn't orb well enough to make it up to them Gideon was at magic School which witches could get to and at the time it was protected and besides not all elders had the ability to heal some had the ability of foresight.

Answer: The elders had limited powers. The first time a dark-lighters shown in season one "Love Hurts." It's says that the arrows are tipped with poison meant to kill white-lighters. If the elders could just heal the white-lighters there would be no real point to the dark-lighters.

But when Leo was an elder he healed everyone and white lighters could heal other white lights who were shot by dark lighters. In season 4 Paige healed Leo (with his help). In season 5 Leo healed Sam and then Sam healed Paige and Leo. In season 6 Gideon (who was an elder) healed Leo.

Question: Why was Magic School never brought up before season 6? Did the writers just not come up with the idea until then? The amount of times they used it for refuge you'd think Leo would have mentioned it earlier.

Answer: There are several reasons. One, Magic School was a new concept, that only been active for a few years. Two, like any private school, it accepts only the truly gifted ones. Those who will become real fighters in the battle between good and evil. Third, Leo had to prove he and Piper are truly good parents in raising Wyatt. The future king of the magical realm and not hide every time trouble occurs. Fourth, once Wyatt was drawn to magic school, they knew it was his destiny to be there.

Seasickness: Kill or Cure - S3-E24

Question: It has already been proven that if you put your finger in a shotgun barrel you will lose your hand. Would you also lose your hand if you put your finger in a pistol barrel?

Answer: No. You would definitely lose a finger or 2 though. A shotgun has a wide barrel compared to a pistol.

stiiggy

Answer: The barrel can get hot if it is fired quickly. Revolvers allow hot gasses to escape from the front of the cylinder so you should keep your hand way from the gap. But if the barrel is not too hot and you keep your hand away from anything it should not be near, just touching the barrel will not hurt your hand.

I meant would a blast from a pistol firing blow off your hand as a blast from a shotgun firing?

Question: Why does everyone think Street turned in Gamble? Wouldn't he be back actually working SWAT instead of being stuck in the gun cage?

Answer: The SWAT Captain originally kicked Street and Gamble off the team and out of the SWAT Division completely for disobeying orders resulting in a hostage being shot. The SWAT Lieutenant convinced the Captain to keep the two officers in the division on a probationary basis to work back towards getting back on the team. Gamble was insulted by the probationary assignment and later resigned. The Captain offered Street the chance for immediate reinstatement to the team if he placed all blame on Gamble. When Street chose the probationary assignment over blaming Gamble or resigning alongside Gamble, everyone assumed Street cut some type of deal to remain in the SWAT Division without knowing the whole story.

Question: Rey is owned by Unkar Plutt before she leaves Jakku with Finn. Does she not have a slave transmitter?

Answer: Nothing in the film indicates she's a slave so much as she's just been left with and works under him. She's more an unwilling laborer than an overt "slave" (so perhaps something like an indentured servant), since it seems she's under the impression she'll be free to leave when her family comes back.

Answer: Rey is not a slave. She lives on her own and is able to use weaponry and vehicles. We see that she scavenges parts from the Star Destroyer to sell to Unkarr Plutt for food. She depends on him for food and some measure of security, but doesn't belong to him.

Question: How come it's called the battle of the five armies? 1. Humans 2. Orcs 3. Elves 4. Dwarfs 5....?

John Edther

Answer: In the book it was Goblins and Wild Wolves on one side and Elves, Men, and Dwarves on the other side. In the film the 5 armies would be Elves, Men, Dwarves, Orcs from Dol Guldur, and Orcs and Goblins from Gundabad.

Bishop73

Answer: As per the book, it is Men, Elves and Dwarves versus the Orcs and the Wargs + Bats who were numerous enough to be their own army. The Eagles and Beorn arrived but were not armies.

Answer: Eagles.
