Question: I know someone else asked something like this, but how did deer get there? I've never seen a zoo with any and New York City is on an island.

Answer: Just because you've never seen one at a zoo doesn't mean they don't exist there. But petting zoos are known to have young deer... They grow quickly. Or perhaps the deer came from an animal testing facility. Or perhaps they were just being transported through the island when the crisis struck. Or perhaps it's because deer repopulate at above average rates. (Manhattan did have deer back in the day... They got there somehow).

Question: What is the relationship between Andie and Tyler Gage? I first thought that Andie was the other foster kid from the first film, but shes not. Are they brother and sister? Thanks.

Answer: Andie was a neighbor of Tyler's growing up. He mentions that he remembers when she was running around in diapers.

The kid is Camille who Moose marries in number 5. Cam is also in number 3.

Question: Why did Amanda return and suffocate Adam? Was it to shorten his suffering or to make sure he wouldn't find a way to escape?

Answer: There's a scene in the Director's Cut edition of Saw III, in which Amanda was having nightmares about Adam and him getting out of the bathroom and killing her. He says something that translates to "How could you do this to me?!" when the audio is reversed. With the knowledge that he's just sitting there in agony probably waiting to die, she goes back and kills him out of guilt so he doesn't die a long death. There is also a deleted scene in Saw III, where Adam and Amanda actually meet and he takes a photo of her before she sneaks into his apartment and abducts him.

Answer: Amanda returned to kill him because she felt guilty of the whole key screw up thing, and she didn't want Adam to die a slow, long and painful death, therefore if she kills him now, he'll be put out of his misery and die quicker.

Answer: Saw is testing people and allowing them to live if they show they are able to change. Amanda has decided that no one is able to change and is therefore killing everyone even if they passed the test.

Myridon

Answer: I've read elsewhere that it was a mercy kill. To put him out of his misery. After all Adam had zero way or chance of escaping or survival - especially after the key to his chains/shackle were down the tubes, so to speak. And his means of egress - that sliding door - was locked, too.

Question: A question of the Omega 13. When Brandon (the geeky kid) is describing the device, he says something along the lines of its a "matter re-arranger, effecting a 13 second time jump to the past." I'm not sure if I interpreted this correctly, but does this mean that the Omega 13 doesn't actually rewind time, but just re-arranges particles to their positions 13 seconds ago, or does it do conventional time travel?

Answer: Whatever you want it to. No one actually knew what it did before it activated. Somehow Jason Nesmith was the only one to know what happened in the original timeline, after it was activated, so there could be any number of possible explanations.

Question: Why does Mary Robert still wear a different habit? Although a few years have passed, shouldn't she have already become a full nun?

Answer: That entirely depends on her own feelings. If she did not feel ready to take full vows, she would remain a novice for as long as she wanted.

Question: Why, if Mrs Darbus doesn't want Troy in 'Twinkle Town', did she give them a call back?

Answer: Because she heard how good Troy and Gabriella were. I'd give them a callback after that.

Brad

Answer: "Driving Down the Darkness" by DevilDriver.

Mortug

Question: This is perhaps a silly question, but do any Special Forces unit in the world have a uniform like the Russians did in this film (specifically those who tried to storm 47's hotel room near the beginning)? I'm assuming it was designed for the sake of the movie (red eyes, etc) rather than real world accuracy, but I'm interested all the same.

Answer: Yes, actually many countries in europe use these uniforms because they provide excellent armour! They don't have red eyes, that was their gas mask. The guns the Russians had are used today even as your reading this.

Question: Was there any reason why Vader had Han "tortured" with a machine? Han later tells Leia and Chewbacca that he wasn't even asked any questions. I know that Vader is scary, but would he want to waste time by just toying with Han and not even questioning him?

Answer: Vader is not interested in extracting information from Han Solo, nor is he wasting time; he is using Han as bait to lure Luke Skywalker into his trap. Vader knows that Luke will sense Han's agony through the Force and will try to rescue Han and the others.

raywest

Chosen answer: No. It's not at all clear in the film whether Merrick is a first name or surname, with the full name only appearing later in other literature.

Question: In Book 6, Dumbledore mentions that the Defence Against the Dark Arts Job is cursed, and that no one has had it for more than a year since he refused it to Voldemort. But in Movie/Book 1, it seems that Quirell has been at the school for a while (Hagrid knows him, and knows that he's the DADA teacher; all the older students seem to know him and there is no mention that this is Quirells first year of teaching). Explain.

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: According to Rowling, Quirrell was the Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts (which is why all the older students know him) before moving to teach Defence Against The Dark Arts in the year that Harry started there. Immediately after meeting Quirrell in the Leaky Cauldron, Hagrid makes a reference to Quirrell having taken a year off from teaching to "get some first-hand experience", encountering such dark creatures as vampires and hags along the way, which would strongly support the idea that he's not previously been the teacher in that subject.

Question: Is it just me, or do the Expelliarmus, Everte Statum and Rictusempra spells all do exactly the same thing- knock the opponent backwards? And why doesn't Expelliarmus disarm the opponent?

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: The spells have different effects, not necessarily visible, they're just cast so strongly that the spell has the added effect of throwing the opponent back.

Question: Bit of an odd question: After reprimanding Ron, for sounding too much like himself and not Crabbe, why does Harry make no attempt to sound like Goyle?

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: I think Harry wasn't mad about the fact that Ron didn't sound like Crabbe but the fact that he was saying things Crabbe wouldn't say.

Question: What is the song that is playing when the students are building the ramp, skateboarding, etc. (right after the "what do you want to learn" sequence)?

Answer: It's Holiday, by Green Day.

Season 2 generally

Question: Why don't Amanda and Jessi like each other in the second part of season 2? In the episode "Ghost in the Machine", Jessi was interested in Kyle because Madacorp programmed her to go after him. But why doesn't she like Amanda later on, after she is free from Madacorp?

Answer: Jessi is jealous of how close Amanda is to Kyle. Kyle and Jessi have a psychic link and Jessi feels no one should be closer to Kyle than she is.

Grumpy Scot

Question: This one is for my son. Is there any reference anywhere, in books, toys, promotional material, anywhere, which gives the names of the ogre babes?

Answer: There is a 4th movie coming out. They will be named then.

Dedderbot

Question: What was the club they went to in the middle of the movie? Not the strip club, it was a dance club. The entry was a long hallway with red lights inside, then it opened up to the big dance area. Does anyone know? Thx.

Answer: That was filmed at Cherry at the Red Rock Casino Resort.

Question: Does Chip really have as many siblings as there are cups in the kitchen? Seems a bit too many, and also they aren't seen as real children at the end of the movie.

Answer: The servants in the castle are transformed into enchanted objects because of the spell, but there are still plenty of other objects in the castle which were not originally people.

wizard_of_gore

Question: What is the awesome music being played while Qui-Gon Obi-Wan and Darth Maul are fighting? It is played during lightsaber duels in Episodes 2 and 3 as well.

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: The song is called "Duel of the Fates". Incidentally, the words being sung are Sanskrit. John Williams chose them purely for the way they sound and their meanings, whatever they are, are completely irrelevant to the song or the events.

Phixius

Question: When Sam is turning into an infected, and Neville is holding on to her, she is trying to kill Neville and the shot goes to a close-up of him, and after the close-up he lets go of Sam and she just rolls away motionless. What I don't know is, did Neville break her neck or did he suffocate her or did the medicine he gave her kill her?

Answer: He strangles her.
