Revealing mistake: Most if not all of the punches thrown by everybody involved during the fight at the clay slide do not land. There are even two men fighting in the pond that appear to be slapping each other, but it looks incredibly fake.

Continuity mistake: The sun changes dramatically when John Wayne's son makes an appearance. You can tell it is setting when Wayne first turns him down, but the next shot, it is earlier in the afternoon. Right after that, it is around noon when Wayne rolls into town.

Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the film, Harry reaches for his radio after getting a call. The radio is not powered. You can see the display doesn't light up.

Visible crew/equipment: Tyler and the narrator are walking to the house for the first time. This shot tracks along the road. The camera track can be seen on the road (metal pipes), and the camera stops where you'd expect the end of the track to be.

Visible crew/equipment: Leo pulls up to the construction site and gets out of his vehicle. During this entire sequence, you can see a very obvious film light with a diffuser reflected in the driver's side of his red car.

Visible crew/equipment: Leo is arguing with Riggs and Murtaugh at the construction site about shooting out his tires. The camera pans over to see them leaving in their cruiser. The camera crew's feet can be seen in the bumper.

Other mistake: At the cemetery, Arnold shoots up the police cars. We then see his point of view, showing no human casualties. The problem is, he is standing up and further back from the drive. The shot from his point of view is down low and near a police car.

Visible crew/equipment: Mulder talks to the man from NICAP on the other side of the fence. When the shot is looking at the man, film lights are visible reflected in his glasses. Since he is looking at Mulder, there should be lights on Mulder's side, but there are none.
