Robocop 2 (1990)

Trivia: When Robocop's being reprogrammed, various information flashes up on screen, only really readable if watched frame by frame on a DVD. Various new directives come up, including 'Avoid Orion meetings' (Orion being the company that made the film). The names Kuran and Lockwood are shown among the garbage, being Peter Kuran and George Lockwood, two of the special effects team. There's also a string of numbers, which when treated as Hex and translated to ASCII comes out as 'Pete Kuran is a great guy'. (00:46:05)

Robocop (1987)

Continuity mistake: When Robocop's about to be run down by the van towards the end, he fires his traditional three-round burst at the windscreen, somehow producing nine bullet holes. (01:25:40)

The One (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Jet Li arrives home after checking himself out of hospital, on his way up the stairs there's no light visible through the curtains. Just after he reaches the top, we can see them again behind Carla Gugino, and there's daylight pouring through them. (00:24:25)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah runs into the corridor to smack the guy with a broom handle, we see a close-up of him having just emerged from a store-room and turned round, standing right next to the door. There's then a very brief shot of Sarah swinging towards him, then a white flash. When we cut out to a wider shot, he's suddenly in the middle of the corridor, with no time to have moved there. (00:52:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah Connor hits the guy with the broom handle in a bid to escape, after the first hit, we see a close-up shot of him on the ground clutching his face. In the background we see her swing back and start bringing it down again. We then cut to a wider shot, and she repeats the motion. (00:52:40)

Ghostbusters (1984)

Continuity mistake: When Winston gets hired, Venkman and Stantz have just come back from a job. They're covered in slime and Venkman's smoking. Ray gives Winston an armful of traps. We then cut to Venkman chatting to Dana after a rehearsal, so we assume it's later, maybe even a different day. After that scene though, we then cut back to Stantz showing Winston (wearing the same shirt) what to do with the traps, and Venkman talking to the guy from the EPA. Venkman's got the same slime pattern on his shoulder, and is still smoking. Looks like the Dana/Venkman scene was in the wrong place. (00:42:00)

Trivia: A nice nod to history. Just after Shinzon orders attack plan 'Shinzon Theta', Riker orders defence pattern 'Kirk Epsilon'.

Dogma (1999)

Trivia: Not really to do with the film, more the back of the UK DVD (maybe other countries/formats as well). It's traditional in the blurb on the back to mention the cast, with an example or two of other films they've been in. For example: Ben Affleck (Armageddon, Shakespeare in Love, Good Will Hunting), and Alan Rickman (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and Die Hard). All good examples. However, when they get to Chris Rock, they mention Lethal Weapon 4 (of course), Dr. Dolittle (hmm), and...Beverly Hills Cop 2! He had a miniscule part in that, 12 years ago! Most people don't even know he was in it! He had a bigger part in Beverly Hills Ninja! I don't even see why they had to mention 3 films, as Linda Fiorentino and Alan Rickman only get 2. Little thing, but it bugs me.

24 (2001)

2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M. - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: At about 2:15am, when Jack's talking to Nina about the passenger list on the plane, we see a shot of Jack in the top left, and Nina in the top right. Because it's real time they're both meant to match up - we're watching them both at the same time. In each shot we can see the back of the other's head, but while Jack is looking down and around in the left-hand shot, in the right-hand shot his head is staying perfectly still. (00:15:51)

A View to a Kill (1985)

Continuity mistake: When Zorin is trying to break into the shed where Bond is, just after he's worked out what time high tide is, the door rattles, dropping a hard hat onto the ground, but leaving a red/yellow light/reflector hanging, quite securely. The door lock is also pointing down and right. A couple of shots later, without the door being rattled forcibly again, there's nothing hanging behind it, and the door lock is pointing right. Die Another Day (2002)

Die Another Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: The first time we see the inside of the transport plane, the helicopter is very close to the yellow car, with its tail sticking most of the way over it. When Bond and Jinx come to escape and start up the conveyer belt, the yellow car's nowhere near the tail. Nothing to do with the conveyer itself - it's just two standard belts moving backwards. The car can't move any faster than the chopper. (01:58:10)

Continuity mistake: Very near the start, when Frodo and Sam are talking, keep an eye on Sam's backpack. The blanket rolled up at the top of it moves up and down his back, without him adjusting it. (00:06:10)

Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)

Continuity mistake: When Hans first walks into the room with the fishtank, the plastic on the floor flaps up behind him as he walks, ending up folded up on itself without much space between the man and the end of the plastic. When he gets shot and falls back onto it, it's perfectly flat and he's a lot further forward. (00:16:25)

Pleasantville (1998)

Question: I'm sure I'm missing something, but the ending didn't quite gel with me. I didn't get the significance of George Parker becoming Bill Johnson off-screen. Was it that given the fictional nature of the world/show, they were both different sides of the same person, or what? (01:51:45)

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: I agree. I think there are a couple ways you could interpret this, but I took it to mean that Bill Johnson essentially became the new man in Betty Parker's life and that the show would continue reflecting this change.

Lynette Carrington

Trivia: Not strictly a mistake, but have you ever seen anything like the product placement when Rene Russo storms into an office and downs a can of Pepsi One (with the label cunning facing the camera)? She does all but turn to camera, hold it up, and say "aaah - there's nothing like an ice-cold can of Pepsi". I actually laughed when I saw it.

Bridget Jones's Diary mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Towards the end when Mark Darcy finds her diary, you clearly see the number 29 as he pulls it from under the magazines, then when you see the diary it's open on pages 10 and 11.

Jon Sandys

Trivia: Just a quick note - obvious to many, but a lot of people I know missed him. Note the techie who gets hit by a car after being chased for a while - he's Jason Lee, of Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma fame. I know, I know, it's obvious, but a few people I know didn't notice until I mentioned it.
