Continuity mistake: In the One in Barbados (part 2), just after Monica bashes her hand against the table, the shot of Chandler asking if she's OK shows Monica raising a finger right at the edge of the screen. We then cut to Monica, who's cradling both her hands together.(00:42:50)
Continuity mistake: When the executive is shot by Ed 209 near the beginning, we see bullet holes in his back, so they're obviously going through, but there's no damage to the windows behind him.(00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: In the apartment crime scene, Sean Young says "we'll let you know if we find a tic", and the large grey-haired cop on her left chuckles, arms by his side. We then cut to a close-up of him with his hands on his hips, pushing his jacket to the sides, then back to the original shot with his hands by his sides again. The close-up itself is a bit weird - Sean Young should be right in front of him, but isn't visible. They must have used a later shot, because after about a minute, when everyone's moved around a lot, we see him back in exactly that position, only now the people visible fit the scenario better.(00:38:10)
Revealing mistake: When Cassandra first swishes her way out of the water, a circular plaster is visible on her left breast, making sure she does not expose her nipple.(00:31:45)
Revealing mistake: When Batman dives off the building with his bat-glider, there are two wires visible coming off his shoulders, most easily visible before he reaches the horizontal.(01:16:45)
Continuity mistake: Just after the explosion in the square, we see a shot of the Mercedes' door, and it's still bright silver. In the shot immediately afterwards of George Clooney and Nicole Kidman getting to their feet, it's charred black.(00:51:10)
Plot hole: When the Angels rescue Knox, why is the light swinging above his head? He's tied to a chair, the Creepy Thin Man's obviously not been through, because there's no exit aside from the bolted way in, so what's moved it?(00:26:20)
Revealing mistake: When the Creepy Thin Man's shooting at the Angels, Lucy Liu ducks behind a wall, and we see a bullet impact just above her head out of shot. When Thin Man runs out of bullets, Lucy peeks round the corner, and poking down from the top of the screen is what looks suspiciously like a wire from the explosive used to generate the bullet hit.(00:23:50)
Continuity mistake: In the scene on the plane at the beginning, just before the bomber speaks, a stewardess passes in front of the camera. It's obviously to cover a cut - after she's passed, the amount of sun visible on the seats changes, the two women behind are closer to the camera, and the nun's looking the other way.(00:02:15)
Trivia: The police car they use is marked as "K-9 - canine patrol". John Belushi's brother James was in a movie called K-9. He was meant to appear in this, but couldn't due to other commitments.
Continuity mistake: During the escape from the "bluegrass" gig, Dan Aykroyd pulls out a remote control, fires up the car, and slowly turns the wheel to the left. We then see the car pulling out and slowly turning right.(01:07:50)
Revealing mistake: Just after they dump the tacks out of the window, the Russians' car flies up into the air in a really quite impressive car crash. Just before it flips over though, you can see the huge ramp put in front of it.(00:32:20)
Trivia: When Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman drop off the Russians, the Perry Mason theme music is playing. Nia Peeples (Lt. Elizondo) was in a Perry Mason TV movie in 1990 (The Case of the Silenced Singer).
Trivia: The pseudo Scooby gang have a heavy Buffy/Angel link. "Fred/The Guy" is played by Marc Blucas, Riley in Buffy. "Shaggy/The Dude" is played by Matthew James, the demon Merl from Angel. "Velma/Bookish girl" is played by Jane Silvia, who was in the first episode of Buffy series 4, playing "Conservative Woman". The only person who doesn't have any link is "Daphne/Redhead beauty", played by Carmen Lee (Jason Lee's wife from 1995-2001). Although if you're really going for tenuous Angel links, she was in a film called "Cowboys and Angels" in 2000.(00:16:30)
Continuity mistake: When Miranda Frost finally gets killed, her right arm goes from being held up, then outstretched when she gets kicked, to up just before she falls over, to outstretched as she actually does fall over.(01:55:15)
Continuity mistake: During the training program, Bond shoots M to make the gunman release her. We then cut to a closeup of Bond shooting, and you can see the slide cycles, then locks back (it's a quick shot, but the earlier shot of him shooting at M shows how quickly the slide should move forwards), showing the gun's out of ammo, despite only having reloaded 4 shots earlier. It then cuts to the gunman being hit, and Bond fires again. Now that's some speedy reloading...(01:01:30)
Revealing mistake: When Arnie's interrogating his wife, Tom Arnold says "but he's not exactly ringing your bell these days", and you can see the audio monitor on the left peaking as he speaks. It then goes flat a second or two before Arnie covers the microphone up.(01:06:00)
Question: I'm intrigued if anyone knows what the experiment was that Doc refers to at the start. He says "my experiment worked - all the clocks are exactly 25 minutes slow". The only thing I can think of is that Doc loaded them all into the time machine or something similar - is there any official answer, or is it just a random comment?
Chosen answer:It's just a random comment, and I suppose is also an early indicator that Doc Brown is performing experiments involving time. Whatever, it's certainly nothing that bears any relevance to the rest of the film.
Continuity mistake: In the escape from Biff on the skateboard, Marty collides with a couple near some steps. His skateboard is left at their feet, but after a cut his skateboard's now behind the woman's head in an ideal place for Marty to grab it. The papers thrown in the air suddenly multiply and appear on the ground (under the people, which means they must have dropped the papers first before falling over!).(01:04:15)
