Trivia: Contrary to the heroic figure he's portrayed as being in the film, the real-life Chris Kyle was quite the controversial person. By his own admission, he would ignore rules of engagement and stated that he enjoyed killing people in Iraq and that he wished he would have killed more, even referring to Iraqis as "savages." He also falsely claimed in his book and in subsequent radio/television interviews to have punched-out former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura for making disparaging remarks about Navy SEALs at a SEAL reunion in 2006. As a result, Ventura sued Chris Kyle - and later his estate after Kyle's death - and was awarded $1.8 million in damages for defamation of character and unjust enrichment. It was also revealed in May 2016 that Kyle had embellished his military record, claiming in his book to have won two Silver Stars and five Bronze stars, all for valor. In actuality, he had only been awarded one Silver Star and four Bronze Stars. Prior to publishing his book, Navy officials warned him not to include the discrepancy. The Navy concluded its investigation of the matter in July 2016, and reduced his medal count accordingly. The Phalanx Covenant: Part 1 - S5-E1
Trivia: This episode has a similar plot to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," and in particular the scene where Warlock deduces that President Kelly has been assimilated by the Phalanx because he knew of Warlock's association with Beast without Beast having told him is a reference to the 1978 film where it is deduced that the police are pod people when they acknowledge the name of Donald Sutherland without him having told them. Trivia: When all the Avengers are attempting to lift Thor's hammer, Captain America is able to move it slightly. In the comics, Cap is one of the few characters noble enough to be able to lift Thor's hammer (notable others being Storm and Beta Ray Bill).

Trivia: The reptile-like aliens in this episode are based on the Brood, an insect-like alien species from the comics. Apparently the Fox censors found the Brood from the comics to be too scary for young children, so their appearance was changed and their name was changed to the Colony. Although a Brood alien can be seen in the season 2 episode "Mojovision" and a Brood queen can be seen in the season 3 episode "Cold Comfort."

Trivia: At the end of the episode, Archangel tells Psylocke that although he doesn't know why, he was concerned for her safety when she was held captive by Apocalypse. This is a nod to the two having been a romantic item in the comics at one point. (00:19:05)

Weapon X, Lies, and Video Tape - S3-E19
Trivia: During Wolverine and Sabretooth's first joint flashback, they are shown stealing a device from Omega Red labeled "C-Synt." This is short for Carbonadium Synthesizer, which in the comics is capable of damaging Wolverine's healing factor as well as protecting Omega Red from his own "death factor." (00:08:00)
