Trivia: While filming a prank in which each of the four Jokers were working as cashiers at a grocery store, during Sal's turn, he was instructed to take a picture of a customer's credit card with his phone. This led to the customer calling the police on them. It turns out she had her identity stolen a couple weeks prior. According to Murr, the police took the woman out of the store to defuse the situation, and then came back in the store and told them that they are fans of the show.

Trivia: Will Friedle originally lost the role of Eric to another actor. The actor - whom Friedle has identified as being named either Harry Branichee or Harry Branshee - was similar in height to Ben Savage at the time. The creators of the show realised this would be problematic when Ben Savage started to grow taller, eventually being taller than his onscreen older brother, so they went with Friedle.

Trivia: During a panel at the 2021 FanX event in Salt Lake City, Will Friedle revealed that due to his unusual accent, several cast members mistakenly believed that William Daniels was English for the first few years they knew him. At the same panel, Daniels said he developed the accent from being around other stage performers when he was around 15 years old.

Trivia: When this show first went into syndication, a market in New England declined to pick it up, thinking it wouldn't be popular with their demographics. They ended up providing the show for free with the agreement that the market would end up paying for the broadcasting rights if the show reached a certain ratings threshold.

Trivia: It cost the show $10,000 to have Q's long hair converted into a wig for Murr to wear as punishment. Q grew out his hair for 2 years for no other reason than so that they could do this as a punishment for Murr. Q sarcastically says he suffered for his art.

Trivia: One of the film's subplots concerns Sal, Joe, and Q wondering what Murr does at night, which is paid off when they see a party going on in his hotel room. According to Murr himself, none of the other three knew what was going to be happening in the room until the scene was being filmed.

Trivia: Towards the end of this episode, Tyrion and Jaime have a discussion about their brain-damaged cousin Orson. This is supposedly a swipe at Ender's Game author Orson Scott Card, who is a harsh critic of the show.

Trivia: Following the film's release, a Michigan woman filed a lawsuit against the distributor for damages, alleging that the film's trailers were misleading and presented it as being a car-racing action film in the vein of the Fast and Furious movies. Trivia: After completing a day of filming on September 3 1996, Brandon Call, who played JT, was shot in both arms in a traffic altercation. Christine Lakin said on the Pod Meets World podcast that she believes the incident made Call decide he no longer wanted to be in the spotlight. He retired from acting following the conclusion of Step by Step, which lends some credence to her theory.
