Corrected entry: In the scene where Picard is walking towards his house with his nephew, the cameraman walks backwards and there are tall bushes on the left side of the screen. As the cameraman walks backwards, he brushes up against leaves and small branches and you can see them move after he walks past them.
Corrected entry: Part of Absolute Zero, 0 degrees Kelvin, deals with the stoppage of time. As long as an atom is in motion, it is generating heat. Lasers are being used today not to remove heat from molecules, but to slow them down to the point of almost stopping and that is the closest to Absolute Zero scientists have been able to hit. That being said: The temperature in the Enterprise and Romulan ship would be far colder than that, and very much closer to 0 than the temperature of space, to Picard, Troi, Geordi and Data. They have an isolation field around them, but that is not a life support generator providing them with neither heat nor oxygen. They would quickly freeze to death in that time bubble and slowly suffocate since the atmosphere would nearly be solid to them.
Correction: Geordi and Data built the isolation field, they surely would have taken this into account, the field might very well provide both. Without actually being able to nearly stop time around normal people, I don't think we can say what its effects will be on them. The science on Trek constantly violates today's "known" physics, just as a 747 violates the "known" physics of the late 1800's ie. "man will never fly".
When The Bough Breaks - S1-E17
Corrected entry: During the 'little power demonstration' a repulser beam hits the Enterprise and throw it three days away from the planet. But no-one on the bridge shows any signs of movement - even the standing one. Remember every space battle when after each hit you see people flying through the air . (00:25:20)
Correction: Since the Enterprise has artificial gravity and inertial compensators, the crew is usually unaffected by changes in speed or trajectory - no one is slammed to the back walls when they go to warp, for instance. These systems are often affected as power is rerouted to shields during a battle. The momentary readjustment results in crewmembers falling or flying. Clearly, these systems weren't affected by the repulser beam.
Corrected entry: When Wesley demonstrates his miniature tractor beam, he looks over his shoulder. The controlling device in his hands shakes a little during it - but the model stays very calm in the air. (00:18:10)
Correction: Wesley is more than intelligent enough to design the device to compensate for minor movements by the user; he wouldn't want the object being tractored to be shaken unnecessarily.
Corrected entry: All the humans on board evolve backwards to the primate stage of evolution. Lt. Barclay, however, appears as a half spider-half human hybrid when we see him in engineering. There are several things wrong with this: 1. Arachnids are not part of the human evolutionary chain. 2. All the other humans on board never de-evolve past primate stage, there is no reason why Barclay should have a speedier de-evolution into an even earlier stage. 3. Even if it were possible that Barclay could have arachnids in his ancestry, why is only half of his body arachnid and the rest human? Shouldn't his entire body be a part of the process, since it is his genes that are operating in reverse? NOTE: Barclay is listed as wholly human both on official websites and in the "Star Trek Encyclopedia", so these can not be explained by him being an alien resembling a human.
Correction: It was explained by Data to Picard that everybody on the ship was devolving into a different creature from their planets origins. Worf is a Klingon which explains why he was turning into a hard shelled creature and Deana was part Betazoid explaining her transformation into a frog-like creature. Everybody who was human on the ship would turn into a different species from Earth. Riker a caveman, Ogawa an ape and Reggie a spider.
Correction: 1. If all life on Earth originated from the same pool of primordial ooze (see "All Good Things..."), then all life on Earth has shared ancestry. 2. Barclay was Patient Zero, so his de-evolution might be more advanced than the rest of the crew. 3. Barclay had Uridian flu (which is why he was injected with the synthetic T-cell that started the whole thing in the first place) which might also have affected how the mutations affected him.
Corrected entry: Ensign Ro and Geordi are invisible and are able to pass through solid objects; they can not physically touch anything. Yet when Ro visits her piloting station, she touches the console without her hand going through it.
Correction: She doesn't touch the console, she merely brushes her hand along it as if to touch it.
Corrected entry: When the Away Team beams to Sickbay with Picard at the beginning of the episode, Dr. Crusher asks what caused his injury and Worf responds that it was "a compressed teryon beam" from an alien weapon. However, when Picard is telling Q about his regrets he says that if he'd had a real heart he "wouldn't have died from a random energy surge 30 years later." Either Patrick Stewart was ad libbing and no one caught the contradiction, or the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing on the writing team for that particular script.
Corrected entry: The databank refers to Troi's father as "Alex Troi," but in "The Child" and later in "Dark Page" her father's name was Ian Troi.
Correction: MacDuff had to alter the computer files in order to insert himself, demote Riker and add the information about the "Lysian War." It's possible that he ended up messing up some other files while he was at it, and no-one would have noticed anything wrong because their memories had been wiped.
Inheritance - S7-E10
Corrected entry: Data claims that no one has ever described his violin playing as "beautiful," but Picard described it as such in "The Ensigns of Command."
Correction: However, after Captain Picard's comment in "The Ensigns of Command" Data corrected him by pointing out that "strictly speaking it is not MY performance" as he was imitating other musicians. Data never considered the Captain's statement a compliment of his playing because he didn't consider it his own playing at that time.
Corrected entry: When Data is listening to all the classical music in his room, he says he tries to keep the number of songs to "four or less." Data, who has perfect grammar, should have said "four or fewer."
Corrected entry: In the scene where Troi, Data and Worf are going up the stairs, to follow the man with the gold brick, into Key Stone City after getting off the train. When they just got off of the train there is a sign on the railing of the stairs with "subway" written on it. In the same shot there is another sign on the railing with the text "New York City Transit System" on it. (00:24:30)
Correction: When they arrive at "Vertiform City" and "New Vertiform City", they are actually a star and a pulsar: sources of vertiron particles. They said that there were pieces of many different holodeck programs running all at once. For this reason it is not truly a mistake.
Corrected entry: When Data is hit by the power from the alien device the second time the camera zooms in on his face. The interface cable that was previously attached to his head is gone, later when he wakes back up, the cable is reattached.
Correction: The cable could have easily been blown off by the energy discharge, and reconnected by the crew to help diagnose Data's condition after the blast.
Corrected entry: Even after La Forge wanders out of sick bay, the display above his bed continues to register his vital signs.
Correction: Not a mistake. As seen several other times in the series, the Enterprise's computer is capable of reading the life signs of it's crewmembers anywhere on the ship. That LaForge's signs appear on the medical display, is simply a matter of output chosen previously by the doctor.
Corrected entry: In the episode "Skin of Evil", right after Commander Riker gets pulled into the sludge type black substance watch the left side of the screen. When the away team looks into it after Riker's face comes out of the sludge you will see something plop into the goo, that was Geordi's phaser falling out of his holster when he leaned over the pool of goo.
Correction: Not a mistake, as it is possible to lose things like this in real life. The mistake is, however, that the phaser reappears later, which is already listed on this site.
Corrected entry: When Gowron's ship is being attacked, Data says that their port shields are down, and that "they are unlikely to survive another attack from that quarter." The very next shot, Gowron's ship receives 5 shots to the port quarter, all of which are dissipated by the shields which are supposed to be down. (00:30:00)
Correction: Given that forward and aft shields exist, too, it can be argued that the seams where the shields merge or overlap would be approximately in the 10:30, 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 positions (looking down on the ship with its bow at 12:00). I would further argue that forward shields might be wider, perhaps to the 10:00 and 2:00 positions, but failing that- Of the five volleys fired, one hits the starboard side. Two more hit the forward shields. The remaining two may or may not have been between the 9:00 and 10:30 positions (as the attacker was well forward of Gowron's ship). Too close to call, but assuming they did indeed get through, Data said 'unlikely', not 'impossible', and his next statement is that Gowron's life support system has failed. That sure sounds like 'not surviving' if left unattended to quickly. We may not have seen the hits, but they apparrently got through since life support was knocked out. No error.
Corrected entry: When Data works with the photon torpedo, he holds the tool with his left hand. The woman helping him puts a black box on the torpedo and leaves. When Data stands up, the box is gone and the tool is now in his right hand. (00:01:20)
Corrected entry: Crusher asks the computer for, and gets, the clan affiliation of three different Acamarians. Then she asks if any of the Acamarian delegation are from the Trakesta clan and the computer says it has no information on clan affiliations.
Correction: No, Crusher asks if any are from the 'Tralesta' clan. The computer replies 'Clan affiliation is not within provided records', meaning the information requested in her last question has not been provided to Starfleet by the Acamarians. The earlier information was regarding a different clan, and was provided and thus available. The computer answered the question correctly, if not fully by leaving the word 'Tralesta' off the front of the sentence.
Who Watches The Watchers - S3-E4
Corrected entry: Supposedly the model in Picard's ready room is of the Stargazer, NCC-2893. But in a closeup when he is talking to Nuria, the model number shown is NCC-7100.
Correction: Incorrect. At no time in the series was the miniature specifically referred to as the Stargazer. It is, however, a model of the same class of starship as the Stargazer, and since the miniature sits in Picard's ready-room, folks assume it is the Stargazer. Its registry indicates, however, that it is another ship entirely. Perhaps Picard came upon this model by chance, and because it is the same class as his old ship, he keeps it as a memento of his time there.
Corrected entry: As the Enterprise twists so that she is facing away from the matter stream as it is drawn in, Picard orders "reverse engines." That would drive her closer into the stream, not further away.
Correction: Picard orders 'reverse engines' when the ship is oriented just about parallel to the stream. Geordi apparently misunderstands amid the noise of the engine room, answering 'Initiating reverse sequence now', then the ship turns to face away from the stream (apparently the 'reverse sequence' is akin to 'reverse course', not 'reverse engines'). On the bridge, Picard realizes they are drifting rearward into the stream. He doesn't seem upset that Geordi didn't correctly follow the order, but then his focus is on the imminent danger the ship is in. No error.
Corrected entry: The Stargazer model in Picard's office changes position each time someone visits him - facing right, then left, then right again.
Correction: The movement of the bushes is being caused by Picard's nephew, who is hiding behind them.
