Trying to remember a movie, hope you can help. I only ever saw the movie on TV, I believe in the 80s, it was usually showing on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Set in a huge mansion with very ornate decor (lots of wood, chandeliers and thick carpeting). Guests who are very peculiar have been invited for an overnight dinner. I don't think they know who invited them. They arrive two by two, couples or maybe even a mother/daughter, and they settle into their individual rooms. House may be haunted but it's not scary at all, more of a dark comedy. It's not until dinner they see who the host is. The characters are very over the top, odd and exaggerated. They might even be thinking someone is going to murder them, or someone was murdered and they don't know who it was (this is only a vague recollection, might not be right). I believe the entire movie takes place over just one evening. I can't think of anything else that sticks out and I can't remember anyone who's in it. I think it was really long but that may just be my memory of it. Don't know if any of this can help name the movie.

Answer: It might be Clue, with (among others) Tim Curry, although "Murder by Death" is also similar.

I saw a scary movie many years ago. It could have been made in the late 1930's or 1940's. About a man that was given a shot in his neck and eventually grew another head. All I remember is that the first sign of the head was a eye on the victims shoulder. Would like to know the name of the film.

Answer: The film is called The Manster: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055139/.

Manky

What is the name of the 70/80's TV miniseries that was about a man making incredible wealth in African diamonds and later trying to buy the US presidency for his son? I recall some dialog "I'll pay 50 million, 100 million, 150 million or any multiple thereof ."

Chosen answer: Sounds like the 1976 TV mini-series, The Captains and the Kings. Set in late 19th-century America, it stars Richard Jordan as a penniless Irish immigrant who rises into a rich and powerful business mogul. The series covers several generations in his family.

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie, but all I can remember is that it's about some type of robot or android boy. It takes place in the future. I think it came out between 1999 or 2001.

Answer: You might be thinking of Artificial Intelligence (2001) which starred Haley Joel Osment.

Jeff Swanson

I'm trying to find the NAME of an old (ABC?) TV movie, circa 1970's, likely mid 1970's. All I remember is the (basic) plot AND the final shot. PLOT: the main character (Andrew Prine?) has been in accident (?), or was hurt in the military and he has a plate in his head or some sort of surgery was done to his brain. Something is "odd" about the new town he moves into and the main character thinks the Sheriff / Police Chief is controlling the people and might even be doing doing something illegal. Also, the main character falls in love with a mysterious woman in the small town, and through some series of events he finds out that the people of the town are being controlled by outer space travelers who are using the towns people to rebuild their space ship, at night, while they are hypnotized while asleep. The Sheriff and his new love ARE the head aliens. They are using the towns peoples 'bodies' to do the repairs because they don't have physical bodies, they are just beings made of 'energy'. The main character can't be 'hypnotized' because of the plate / surgery to his head. Near the end of the movie he actually sees the people wandering out toward a field where the busted space ship is being repaired. LAST SHOT: the final shot is the main character's body, lying in a field, in broad daylight. He's gone off into outer space (or just his 'life energy' has gone')with the woman with whom he fell in love. Roll Credits. 11:00 o'clock news. I started thinking about this because there was an episode of "Eureka" where the town's people worked on a 'project' at night, while they were hypnotized. Same plot, different out come. Thanks.

Chosen answer: This sounds like the 1970 made-for-TV movie titled, Night Slaves, starring Andrew Prine, James Franciscus, and Lee Grant. Leslie Nielsen played the sheriff of a small western town where some strange force has turned the residents into zombies.

I saw a movie a while ago and I was wandering if you know the title. The plot is complicated and I'll use X and Y to explain it better. It's about a man (X) who is killed and reincarnates into a baby. It turns out that the father of the baby is the murderer (Y) and X wants revenge. The only way to do that is to commit suicide, and X tries many times, but every time his plans fail (the baby wants to drown in the bathtub, but his father stops him, or tries to pull down the heated iron, but the babysitter saves him and she arrives at the hospital with her hands burned). X had a girlfriend in his previous life and she is pregnant-Y decides to help her. At the end X discovers that Y is not the murderer, but in that moment X is reincarnated again, this time being the baby of his girlfriend. I'm sorry for writing so many explanations and I hope you'll read it. And another thing: I think it's a French movie, but I don't know for sure. Can you help me, please? Thanks in advance.

Chosen answer: I think that maybe you are talking about the 2003 French movie "Mauvais esprit", translated to Mean spirit. Thierry Lhermitte plays the lead role.

Does anyone know what movie had a guy in a wheelchair helping a girl become a great singer or piano player for a competition? He got killed in the end by the townspeople because they thought he was bad, when in fact, he healed people. There was also a little girl in it that limped really bad and he healed her. I recall there being a bridge and waterfall in it?

Chosen answer: The name of this movie is Rigoletto (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0107961/).

Looking for the name of a french movie where a young boy is lying in bed with a woman (his nanny?) that lets him feel her naked breast. During this the boy's parents phone him on his cell.

Answer: Sounds like a scene found in "Private Lessons". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082948/.

Answer: The movie "Private Lessons" is about a French nanny seducing a young boy. There are two scenes similar to what you described. The teen makes a move on her in a dark movie theater and she takes his hand and puts it on her breast. Later, when he is talking on the phone to his father, the nanny playfully taunts and flirts with him.

There was a movie that came out about 7-10 years ago about a man who had an affair with a woman and they had a child together. The man and his wife adopted the child but she did not know it was his child. The mistress was supposed to stay away from the child but was hired as the nanny for the child by his wife. He figures out who she is later. This movie is like one of those old English movies. Can someone tell me the name of this movie?

Answer: It is called "Firelight" and stars Sophie Marceau and Stephen Dillane. It came out in 1997.

Trying to think of the name of a movie that came out within the past 3-5 years if I remember correctly. I thought it was Fred Claus at first, but I fast forwarded through the whole movie the other day and it wasn't it. All I remember is the end, where the main character was supposed to go to jail or something, but there was a group of kids at a orphanage that stuck up for him and helped him from going. I remember him confronting them all in a room and where there was both girls and boys. He asked them why they helped him after lying to them and doing what he did.that is all I remember. It's like a combination of Fred Claus and Role Models if that helps. I remember one of the girl actresses has been in a lot of things and has curly brunette hair.

Chosen answer: I think you mean "Bad Santa". It has Billy Bob Thornton and the girl you're thinking of is Lauren Graham.

I wanted to know the title of a movie. I am not sure when it was produced but I watched it a lot back in the mid - late '80s. The only scene I can remember is one where a dwarf or smaller individual finds a ring with a green stone in the mouth of a gargoyle and goes running because the queen would be so happy that he found the ring. It is not animated. I have been trying to figure this out for years.

Chosen answer: I think you mean Wizards of the lost kingdom - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090333.

I am trying to find the name of a movie. I know a bit of the plot: it is set in some fantasy world and there is this teenage girl talking to this teenage boy and they are watching these unicorns. The girl ends up petting the unicorns and she is then chased by goblins or something and winds up being captured by a devil dude.

toby1kenobi

Chosen answer: The film is "Legend", from 1985. The girl is Mia Sara, the boy Tom Cruise, the devil dude Tim Curry. All of whom probably want to forget they were in it...

Sometime in the 90s, I heard a rumor about a much-anticipated movie being cancelled because a child choked on a toy/doll of a character from it. Does anyone know if this is true or what movie it was?

Answer: Partially true: 1995's "Toy Story" had a mini-Woody PVC figure sold in the Disney stores. The base of this figure separated from Woody's feet and a child DID choke on the star-shaped piece. I bought one just before they pulled it off the shelves and replaced it with a another Woody figure that had an attached base. The movie, however, was obviously never pulled from release.

I saw a docu-drama recently about Vlad the Impaler, but I've not idea what it was called or what channel it was. It was about three imprisoned priests who were about to face Vlad and were comparing stories about what he did to people. It was very gruesome and showed people being impaled. Can anyone help me out here?

Answer: Found it! Goto the History Channel for the info on that program: http://www.thehistorychannel.co.uk/shows/true-horror/episode-guide.html.

Recently watched a western movie, can't remember the actors names. The plot was about a man that died and left his ranch to his best friend. The best friend was to run it until the son was responsible enough to handle it. The friend went to Kansas to get a wife for the boy so that he would grow up and become a man. I believe he got her at a place called Hannah's. After many trials the friend decides that the boy should have the ranch, so he gives it to him and heads back to Kansas to Hannah's to hook up with Hannah. Does anyone know the name of this movie or the actors that played in it?

Answer: I just watched this movie a couple of weeks ago. An older western - the son is a drunk and is gambling all the money away.I really hope this is the correct movie it sounds right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail_Order_Bride_(1964_film)

I am trying to figure out the title for a movie I saw quite some years ago. I am positive the film was a kind of horror/drama flick. If I remember right it had Ashton Kutcher in it. The base line for the story was this couple (I don't remember if they were married or dating) went to stay at this cabin in the middle of a lake, and the only way to get to or from it was by boat. The guy ends up going kind of crazy and tries to keep the girl there forever to start a family with him. He ends up hiding her birth control from her and chaining her up and stuff. Any ideas what this movie title was?

Chosen answer: Devil's Pond.

I saw an animated movie as a kid, probably late 80's, about a wind-up toy that came to life. The toy was a father mouse and his son connected at the hands; the father picked the son up and did some kind of twirly thing with him. Anyway, they get separated out in the big wide world somehow and each one is trying to find their way back to the other. I don't remember any scenes at all except one were the child mouse is told by some other character (I can't recall who or what it was) that he needs to count the number of cats that appear in a poster advertisement for some cat food. I don't remember why he had to do this, but the trick to it was that the can of cat food in the poster featured the same image as the poster itself. As the mouse counted, the camera swept into the image and zoomed in on each smaller image as he counted. I think maybe he had to start over a couple of times for some reason. Also, in another scene either before the father and son were separated or perhaps after they were reunited, I remember them crossing some railroad tracks while still connected at the hands. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Chosen answer: The film is "The Mouse And His Child" made in 1977 (also known as "The Extraordinary Adventures of the Mouse and his Child" in USA) It was originally a book by Russell Hoban. I read it as a kid & never forgot the infinite number of dogs on the tin of Bonzo dog food!

I'm looking for the title of a movie I saw, but I can only remember one scene. I think it was a gangster movie, and it might have come out in the early to mid-90s. Anyway, the scene starts with a man with his wife or girlfriend. She is (I think) talking to him with her back turned, but when she turns around, he punches her full force. He proceeds to beat her up including throwing her over a table and slamming her into something glass (a mirror or bottles). Eventually, she stabs him in the foot with a corkscrew, and ends up shooting him. I remember it because the beating to her is really brutal and realistic. Can anyone help me out? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

MMRichter

Chosen answer: This sounds like a movie called "True Romance" with Christian Slater.

I'm looking for the name of a TV series from the early to mid 90s. There were five (?) teenagers, and it either took place on the beach or they lived on the beach or something. They made movies (or commercials or something) on the beach. It's not Dawson's Creek.

Heather19

Chosen answer: This might have been the "Party of Five" TV series.

Answer: It could be "The MacKenzies of Paradise Cove." A 1979 TV series, ran only six episodes. Five siblings lose their parents in a boating accident. In order to stay together, they persuade a gruff charter boat captain to be their guardian. It was set on the beaches of Hawaii.

In this movie that I saw in the mid 80s, all I remember is that it had children outwitting kidnappers. The kidnappers have one child's father. There is a fat kidnapper that chases the kids into a cave and when the kids go through a hole that kidnapper tries to go through it and gets stuck.

mrlime

Chosen answer: I may be wrong but that film sounds like its The Goonies.
