Factual error: When Toni and John-Boy make a bet about who will locate Jason first John-Boy is holding a book, and just as they agree to the loser buying a bottle of champagne, this book's author and title are visible on the spine. That book is "A Pocketful of Rye" written by A. J. Cronin, and published in 1969, though this episode takes place in 1945. (00:30:35)
Continuity mistake: When Toni locates Jason at the 171st repple depple the two embrace, and in the following shots Toni's watch repeatedly disappears and reappears on her wrist, depending on the angle of the shot. (00:16:20)
Visible crew/equipment: While Elizabeth and Drew are fishing, when she walks over to stand beside Molly she and Drew begin arguing, and we can see the bulging outline of the mic transmitter at the back of Elizabeth's waist, particularly when she mounts the horse. (00:04:50)
The Hot Rod - S9-E12
Continuity mistake: When John-Boy, Jason, and Ben share the Recipe with Jim-Bob for a celebration, John-Boy sits on the bed directly below the picture of the biplane fighters (seen in three shots), but each time it cuts to the shots facing Jim-Bob we see in the mirror's reflection that it's Jason sitting below that picture, and John-Boy is further up on the bed. (00:15:05)
Factual error: When John Curtis walks out to the porch he's carrying a storybook, which John-Boy reads to him, and the year is late 1945 or early 1946. This over-sized Golden Book is titled "Richard Scarry's Best Mother Goose Ever," and at its earliest it was published in 1970 with Scarry's illustrations of "Three Little Kittens" on the cover, and "Jack Be Nimble" on the back cover. (00:39:40)
Visible crew/equipment: After Ike goes off to help Jim-Bob and Jason with the antenna cable, just at the moment it cuts to John-Boy on the porch, at the start of the shot, on the right side of the screen we can see the shadow of someone's arm motioning to the young actor who is playing John Curtis, so he can open the screen door to step onto the porch at the correct time. (00:39:40)
Visible crew/equipment: While Stanley and Rose are dancing, Jeffrey grabs Jim-Bob's hand and pulls him outside, then when they walk over to the newly built dog house, the bulge of the hidden mic transmitter is visible on Jeffrey's back. (00:35:00)
Continuity mistake: When John and Jason remove the rolltop desk from the pickup, in the exterior shot Jason carries the left side and John carries the right side, but as they walk through the doorway it cuts to an interior shot and with the desk still in the air the two men have suddenly switched sides. (00:08:25)
Visible crew/equipment: When Ben and Cindy enter the mill's office to speak to John, as John says, "We've got a lot of talking to do," the chalk T-mark is visible on the floor behind Cindy. John will stand at this spot when he gets up and tells the couple not to worry about him. (00:17:45)
Revealing mistake: While Cindy and Ben are going through Colonel Brunson's belongings Cindy finds the Adoption Decree, and begins reading it. The funny thing is there's a closeup of the document, and it's apparent that it's actually a studio contract. Even without pausing we can read things such as: "Use of Double," "Location Expenses" or "Damage to Wardrobe." Though if it's paused we can read entire lines such as: "Location Expenses: Where the services of the Artist are required to be performed outside of the City of Los Angeles or its environs, the Producer shall transport the Artist and the reasonable personal baggage of the Artist..." (00:08:55)
Factual error: After Cindy admits that she needs to know why she was put up for adoption, when it cuts to a clip of Washington DC with the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial in the background, we also see vehicles not appropriate for 1945. (00:14:45)
The Hot Rod - S9-E12
Revealing mistake: When John-Boy, Mary Ellen, and Verdie are bringing Jody home from the hospital, during the drive in the two shots facing the front of the vehicle, the edge of the rear projection screen is visible at the left side of the screen. (00:45:25)
The Hot Rod - S9-E12
Continuity mistake: While Miss Mamie is trapped, when Ike and Miss Emily find the special wall panel to control the door, the hidden door opens and the top of the door is plain with no molding, but when Ike leads the Baldwin sisters into the room, in the shot from within the room there is molding across the top of that door. (00:14:20 - 00:16:25)
Visible crew/equipment: When Toni is setting the table Mary Ellen walks over to give her a hand, and the white tape mark is visible on the floor where Mary Ellen stands. It's most noticeable just as Jim-Bob lifts his leg over the bench, when he sits at the table. (00:13:50)
The Pearls - S9-E15
Visible crew/equipment: After Elizabeth informs Ike that Corabeth's sister, Orma Lee, is resting in the back room it cuts to the Walton family having dinner, and as Jason tells the others they should all stay out of it, the shadow of the boom mic is moving about on the white door. (00:09:55)
Continuity mistake: After Rose tells the Baldwin sisters that she needs "time to catch up," when it cuts to Stanley and Rose driving up to the home, in the wide shot the windshield wipers are pointed to the right, but in the closeup they're pointed to the left, then back to the right again. (00:18:55)
Visible crew/equipment: After Stanley drives Rose home, when she tells him that she does not want to marry him Rose gets out of the vehicle, and as the camera tracks closer, the reflection of the camera operator is visible in the small window beside Stanley. (00:20:15)
Visible crew/equipment: After Cindy brushes Virginia's hair it cuts to Mary Ellen and Erin serving Rose, and in the background we can see the green tape mark on the floor near Elizabeth, then when Elizabeth walks toward the table the yellow T-mark is also visible on the floor behind Ben. (00:37:55)
Continuity mistake: When Ike gives Corabeth the Geiger headset, in the wide shot she places it up to her head with the wire at her left ear, but in the next shot the wire is at her right ear. (00:27:50)
Revealing mistake: While Erin and Paul are driving to his home, when Paul tells Erin that he lives about half an hour up the road, from this moment until the end of this scene we can see the edge of the rear projection screen, at the left side of the screen. (00:31:50)
